Alice nodded her head and smiled.

"Now, go. I need to prepare for lunch."

"Your clothes have arrived." Jacob said to her when she came out of the bathroom.

She had bought some clothes online to wear, Most of her clothes were in Wilson’s mansion.

Nodding her head, Petal walked towards the couch and Sat down. She was a little hesitant about going there but as Jacob said, She needs to confront her problems.

Jacob’s eyes fell on hearing devices that were attached to her ears. He wondered if she had gone through a lot of pain after the surgery. Petal should have had this surgery many years ago but Henry didn’t allow her, He said that she is useless and doesn’t need it. How cruel of him.

Petal noticed Jacob’s eyes looking at her ear devices.

"It wasn’t Painful, Lana took care of me during that time." She said signaling.

"That’s good to know." Jacob said, offering her a smile.

After getting dressed, PetaI sat on the bed looking at her mother’s picture. In the picture, her mother was smiling as she held her closely. She always felt at ease every time she saw her mother smile, It was like her smile can take all of her fears.

Wiping her tears, PetaI stood up. Picking up her bag she left the room.

"Ready?" Jacob who was waiting for her asked.

Nodding her head, Petal walked towards the apartment door opening it, The both of them left the apartment heading towards the mansion.

Back at the mansion.

While everyone was gathered in the living room, Talking with each other. Isaac sat there thinking about something. He was thinking about what would happen between his brother and Petal.

Ethan hadn’t come, Issac had sent him a message when he didn’t answer his phone, He even hadn’t replied to his message until now.

"Something isn’t right, Why would Petal tell Noah to come? I hope she isn’t planning on something." Alice whispered to her brother.

Isaac nodded his head agreeing with her. "I know. Let’s wait and see what will happen." He replied to her words.

"Did you call, Ethan?" She asked, Staring at Noah who seemed over the moon that PetaI asked him to come.

"Yes. But he didn’t answer so I sent him a message." Isaac replied.

Alice turned to look at the door entrance and saw her brother, Ethan, Entering the mansion.

"Oh God, I was hoping that he won’t come." Alice muttered under her breath.

"Well, He did. Relax, Even if Petal is planning for something, She won’t do anything today." Issac said, assuring her.

"She didn’t accuse him of anything until now. So maybe we are just overreacting." Isaac added.

"Good afternoon everyone." Ethan said as he took a seat beside his mother.

"You finally decide to show up. It’s good timing." Lana said, patting her son’s shoulder.

Noah and Ethan exchanged a look before they both looked in a different direction. Both were asking themselves what the other is doing here?

An hour later, Jacob and Petal arrived at the mansion.

"I missed you." Alice said as she hugged her.

Petal too hugged Alice, She would be lying to say that she hadn’t missed her too.

When she pulled away, She saw Lana smile at her and she took the first step towards her wrapping her arms around her, Putting her words into action. To Petal, Was the mother that she lost. Lana felt the worry that she felt the last two days fading away.

"I thought that you would never come back, Please forgive me for not telling you." Lana said a sob came out of her lips. She felt guilty for what she did.

Petal closed her eyes letting the tears roll down her eyes as she hugged her tightly. At least she won’t be alone. There are still people who love her and care about her.

Pulling away, Lana cupped Petal’s face and kissed her forehead, and said."Olivia was a good friend of mine. When you were born, She asked me to take care of you if anything happened to her. I would like to keep this promise if you want to."

Petal placed her hand above Lana and nodded her head as more tears rolled down from her eyes. Everyone watched the heartwarming moment between Lana and Petal and felt affected by it.

Lana turned to look at Jacob who was standing away from him and offered him a warm smile."Thank you for taking care of her." She thanked him.

After greeting everyone, Lana asked them to go to the dining table to have lunch.

On the table, Petal picked her glass of water to drink from it as she was thirsty when her eyes met Ethan’s eyes. PetaI looked away immediately before she Looked at him again only to find him still looking at her not caring if anyone caught him staring at her.

Petal looked away as she put down her cup of water, She tried to not turn her head and don’t look at him. When she looked up, Her eyes met Noah’s eyes this time who was smiling at her and she returned the smile.

Ethan saw the small smiles exchanged between her and Noah. He felt a strange feeling in his chest. It was jealousy, Something that he didn’t feel before.

During lunch, everyone tried to be respectful towards PetaI as she was still Mourning her mother. They spoke less.

"So tell me, Jacob. What do you work on right now? " Issac asked.

Issac always wanted to know this man better, After all, he was no ordinary man. Petal grows up thinking that he was just a personal bodyguard when he is a trained hitman, Meaning that he is a dangerous person, Especially Ethan. That’s why he needed to keep a close eye on him.

"Right now I’m looking for a job, There are good offers I have received from some friends, But I’m still considering them." Jacob replied as he ate his food.

"I was thinking of offering you a job. If you like, We can discuss it after lunch." Issac offered.

"I would like to hear about this offer." Jacob said, Accepting the Idea.

Petal turned to look at Isaac, wondering what he was planning to do.

After lunch, PetaI excused herself to go to her room to take some things that she needed. Lana had asked her to stay but she said that she still needed time but she promised her that she would come back.

On her way to her room, Petal, Saw Noah standing outside of her room. Waiting for her.

"I thought about speaking to you alone." Noah said when she came to stand in front of him.

Nodding her head. Petal opened the door to her room and asked him to enter. She pointed at the bed asking him to take a seat as she sat on it.

Taking a seat beside her, Noah said.

"I know it’s too late to say it, But I should say it. My condolences."

Nodding her head, Petal said.

"Thank you."

Taking her hand in his, He asked."How are you?"

"Not good, But I’m trying. It’s not easy." She replied, signaling.

Noah gave her hand a gentle squeeze before he pulled her into a hug."I know. I felt the same when my father passed away." He said.

For A moment, Petal felt good to have someone understanding what she is going through.

"Are you planning to leave here?" Jacob asked her as he watched her packing her things.

"No, I just need to stay away for some time. I want to spend some time with Jacob. He has been away for a long time." PetaI replied and continued to pack her books.

Noah tried to appear not affected by what she just said. He hated the fact that she is going to stay in a man’s apartment alone.

"I have an empty apartment, I can have it cleaned right away and give the keys. You can stay as long as you like." Jacob said.

Petal understood what he meant and she turned to look at him.

"I can’t, Noah is like a brother to me, He will be sad if I did that." Petal said signaling.

Nodding her head, Noah forced a smile on his lips.

When Noah Left, Petal took off her blazer and was about to go to the bathroom when the door to her room suddenly opened. Turning to look at who it was, Her body froze; she couldn’t move an inch as her feet were glued to the ground. She watched as he closed the door and started to walk towards her.

Ethan’s eyes noticed the blacktop that she was wearing, The thin piece of cloth was showing her body curves.

Was she on top while Noah was here?

Thinking about this Ethan, Felt angry but he didn’t show his anger.

"I know that you don’t want to see me. But I needed to. Don’t push me away, PetaI." Ethan said when he stood in front of her.
