In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]-Chapter 191: Fight Me (1)
It was the same sensation all over again. Rise’s expression did not even change. His senses returned soon after, and a new scene greeted him
Yes, new.
This was obviously not the same location they arrived at the last time. Rise expected it, but was slightly surprised at most.
He swept his eyes around and immediately noticed that they were in an open field, without anything in sight aside from wandering beasts and corpses.
"Where should we go, Guild Leader?" Rise casually asked this, and he did not notice how odd it was if it were heard for the first time. It was like a habit at this point, and being comfortable with the atmosphere, Rise forgot for a moment that he was... in fact, not close yet again with Kamille.
Kamille looked at him, and the corner of his lips twitched. Rise... slipped.
Rise also lifted his head and met his eyes.
"What?" Clueless, Rise tilted his head and asked again, "Should we go back to..."
The reality hit at this point, and Rise’s eyes widened, his words paused in midair, and his mouth remained parted. He blinked slowly, cocked his head, and processed what he had done.
His eyes then landed on his arms, which were hooked and wrapped tightly like the usual to Kamille’s arm. Rise stared at it for a while, did not loosen it, but lifted his gaze again and automatically met Kamille’s deep gaze, who never stopped watching him.
He did not know that Kamille was only waiting... for Rise’s excuse.
"Well," Rise licked his dry lips, which had become dry, and his eyes narrowed into a slit; his mind worked, but soon his lips smiled.
Wait... Kamille did not remember, right? And so, Rise did not need to give an excuse, after all.
Just act normally. And yes, this was how he acted normally to Kamille.
"I can call you like that, right, Guild leader?" Rise smiled sweetly, despite it not being very suited to him. As people would feel afraid if he gave such a smile.
Although he made Kamille pissed for teasing him, the other was good-tempered and would not hold a grudge over that. Clearly, he still requested to team up with him, which meant Kamille valued his ability. Rise thought of it that way, and so when he heard Kamille’s answer, his jaw dropped again.
"What... did you say?" Surprised, Rise wanted to hear again, in case his ears malfunctioned for a moment.
Kamille’s indifferent expression remained as he repeated, seemingly to give more emphasis this time to his answer.
"No, you can’t."
Kamille glanced at his arm, which was being held, and narrowed his eyes before pulling away and loosening Rise’s arms.
Rise blinked, and he did not even react to being denied access to his usual place, mind fixated on that cruel answer.
"Why?" He asked, low in spirits. "Just because of last time?"
If so, when did Kamille become so petty? Clearly, he tolerated his antics just fine last reset... now, why did he appear distant all of a sudden?
But... the book said, this was the same number of resets still.
Did something go wrong?
Seeing him like this, Kamille’s gaze wavered a bit, but thinking of his plan to make Rise stop pretending he resisted, the urge to coax him.
"Mn," Kamille nodded coldly.
Rise bit his lips and looked at the ground. Could it be because he was not affiliated with Dark Crimson this time?
He frowned while swallowing the bitter taste in his mouth. Rise could not become his guild member... that was out of the question.
Frustrated, he lifted his head and glared. Actually, he was not really glaring at Kamille but at the situation. However, Kamille did not know that. And he thought that Rise was beginning to get angry at him.
His heart sank again, and the darkness inside of him surged.
His gaze darkened. Should he stop and tell Rise he knew? But if he did, what if... Rise did the same thing again without him knowing?
He wanted to know what was going on once and for all. And not wake up clueless after the world changed again. Kamille’s instincts told him that a large part of this involved him, and the reason he wanted Rise to tell on his own more.
Now, Rise was the one who misunderstood. His heart clenched, and he averted his gaze, biting the inside of his cheeks as he brushed his silver hair, making it messy.
Damn, Kamille’s mad again. What the hell? Why was he so easily pissed off this time?
He could not understand. Rise chewed on his lips as he tried to think of countermeasures.
In the minutes that passed, the two remained where they arrived in silence. Rise did not have the mood to flirt as his mind was preoccupied by Kamille’s sudden mood change, and the same was true for Kamille.
Rise organized his thoughts. Kamille’s mood was incomprehensible, and that was not something he could control. Thinking it this way, something clicked within him.
Right. What was the personality Kamille knew about him? Probably from the rumors? The villain Rise. Reckless and a troublemaker.
"If I call you Guild leader and you don’t like it." Rise’s shoulders eased, and the smile on his lips became more genuine. "Will you fight me so I’ll stop?"
Kamille looked at him seriously. He appeared to have thought about it. "If I did, would you insist?"
Rise narrowed his eyes into a slit, smile turned into a smirk adorned his lips.
"It’s perfect." Rise swept his eyes around and shifted back to Kamille’s eyes, "Guild Leader..." His tone was taunting and playful. "Now what, fight me?"
Flirting through fighting, Rise was up to that. Between Espers, respect was earned through fighting!
A heavy pressure descended. Rise raised his hand as if orchestrating, and the ground around them cracked. His eyes stared straight at Kamille, smile remained on his lips.
"I’ve been curious..." What he was about to say was true. "...how strong Guild Leader Kamille is. Do you dare fight me?"
Inside him, excitement bubbled up, and his expression carried his fighting intent, bloomed, and Rise looked so majestic in Kamille’s eyes.
Rise loved fighting, his first love.
As a result, Kamille’s gaze turned deeper, and the corner of his lips hooked. The wind around surged and blew; whirlwinds started to converge behind him.
Seeing this, Rise laughed, eyes lighting up. His blood boiled, and more than fear of being hated because of this fight, he loved the idea of fighting his beloved.
It was a different kind of entanglement, even if his lover did not know him.
Kamille’s apprehensions and madness seemed to dissipate hearing that laugh, and his whole being lightened. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Rise noticed it, but only made him excited.
Damn, Kamille’s mood changed again.
Rise’s eyes sparkled with anticipation instead of concern.
