I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 74: Pianist’s Sacrifice? (edited)
Without her doing, her hand suddenly twitched. That was then an ethereal and quiet voice of a man whispered itself into her ear.
"Your... affection... was just like mine to her..."
It was a beautiful, soothing voice.
Lillian’s eyes slowly drifted back, staring at the pale blue face of the ghostly Pianist behind her.
His face—once filled with sadness and stillness towards anything outside of the unexpected—was now... smiling?
His eyes, once filled with grief, were now staring at her with empathy—an empathy that resonated deeply with both of them.
Lillian widened her eyes.
This was the first time he had ever talked, even if it was only their second time meeting again.
But why was he talking now? And why was he staring at her like that?
Why was he talking in such a soft tone...? Especially when she was about to be killed?
Her hand that was clutching the Sonata of Revenge twitched again before suddenly swinging it.
Lillian stared at the rapier, which had the flat side of its blade facing the monster’s incoming horn. The side facing her gleamed brightly, almost as if it was smiling at her.
She then felt her arm, which was holding her lantern, suddenly raise itself, placing her forearm against the flat side.
"H-huh..."
The ghostly Pianist then surprised her once again as she felt his hand on her right shoulder and the side of his face beside her left ear.
The Phantom Conductor stared at the charging monster with a solemn expression before whispering in an ethereally soft lingering voice:
"Don’t... make the same mistake I did... no longer cower..."
Lillian watched as the vicious horn crashed into the surface of the rapier—the world seemingly becoming slower.
She felt the subtle shock travel through both her arms, watching as the rapier trembled and bent slowly towards her, struggling to resist the force.
She was then dragged through the air by the cursed monster.
"No longer hide behind something... insignificant other than your meaning for life..."
Screech...
The faint sounds of painful screeching resounded from the bending blade, and with each moment, it seemed to lose its shine.
The strange thing about it was... the sound didn’t resonate through the air but... through her heart and mind...
Had she... truly created such a close bond with her weapon that she could feel its pain? In such a short span of time...?
It could just be her imagination, but...
"And lastly... just like how a pianist is nothing without his piano... so is a lover with no one to love..."
The Sonata of Revenge, under the tremendous push from the horrid monster, had now become shaped into a ’U’... fully losing its once elegant shape and the bright gleam.
Screech...
The subtle light radiating from the ghostly Pianist soon began to diminish, and so did his body as he seemed to start breaking off into chunks.
But his body still clung together stubbornly... despite Lillian completely running out of mana.
"Protect what you love to the best of your ability... even if it’s at the cost of your life... you’ll still be able to become absorbed into the afterlife without any regrets..."

Down the middle of his face—a crack emerged, which webbed out into many sections.
With acceptance in his eyes, he closed them, leaning his body far back away from Lillian and shattering into a cloud of shimmering glitters of light that were eaten by the harrowing darkness.
The painful screeches of the Sonata of Revenge then suddenly became quiet... and were instead replaced by the familiar androgynous voice of the Jester.
[A recognised Shard has been shattered]
The rapier that was bent into a ’U’ suddenly began to glow with a deep purplish colour before shattering into tiny shards of light.
Lillian unconsciously tried to reach out towards the shard of light flying towards her like a butterfly, pushing through the strains limiting her movements.
It shimmered beautifully, blocking and distracting her eyes from anything but it.
After it had vanished, however, the monster behind it was revealed, still in its charge with an even greater push once the rapier disappeared—especially when the buzzing of its irritating song had left its ears.
Lillian stared down at the monster, her eyes softening and filled with acceptance.
’Ah... all that to delay the inevitable...’
She then gritted her teeth, clenching her jaw and tightening her muscles in her arms.
The look of acceptance that was in her eyes disappeared and was replaced with the same amount of tenacity found in a Catacomb Dweller’s eyes.
Just before the monster crashed into her again, she wrapped her arms in front of her in an ’X’, summoning the Depressing Warmth back to her Mana Realm and bracing.
CRACK...! CRACK...!
The bones in her arms shattered under the thunderous force of the monster’s charge.
The pain stabbed into her mind as she felt the splinter shard of her bones stabbing through her arm.
Blood shot up through her throat and left through the gaps between her gritting teeth.
The feeling of the horn causing her arms to bend inwards further caused more pain to shoot through her mind in large waves.
Crashing into her like a disastrous tsunami, threatening to shatter the remaining stubbornness to not give in to her demise.
"I... am going to kill... you when I get the chance...!"
Lillian’s strained and hateful voice spilt through her blood-filled mouth.
The monster’s large black eyes flashed back hatefully, having had enough of Lillian’s insistent need to continue squirming.
It paused in its charge, forcing itself not to get carried by its momentum and watched as Lillian, who was stuck to its horn, slowly fell from it, her arms flailing in the air.
It then took a step back before launching itself forward and slamming its entire body into Lillian, sending her flying away once more.
Lillian stared at the quickly approaching ground, worried about her chestplate, she summoned it back to her Mana Realm.
After a few seconds, it finally disappeared, allowing her to prevent its destruction as she bounced against the ground harshly, leaving a splatter of her blood on the rough, uneven ground.
With each bounce, she let a pain-filled gurgle as the blood in my mouth bounced around, tapping at the back of her throat and causing her to gag and spit it out.
She didn’t know how long she had bounced, but it eventually came to an end when she crashed into one of the walls of the catacomb.
CRASH!
"Ar... gh...!" Lillian let out a pain-filled groan, feeling something pop out of her shoulder... her shoulder had become dislocated...
She then fell down from the wall, slamming her shoulder into the ground and having it click back in again—eliciting another pain-filled groan.
Her sight was blurry... her mind was in shambles, which was already due to the pain that, if not for her shocking amount of persistence to stay awake, she would’ve already been long asleep.
With her back leaned against the wall, her hair covering a part of her bloodied face, she whispered:
"I... I refuse to die now..."
Suddenly... in the corner of her eyes, she made out what seemed to be a light.
She weakly turned her head to the side, narrowing her eyes and being able to make out what seemed to be a corner from the blurry mess.
Her eyes widened.
’Could it... be...’
Her eyes flashed with realisation.
’I can make it... my legs still work, right...?’
With her back against the wall and her knees up to her chest, she pushed against the ground with her feet, causing her to slide slowly up the wall.
Drip... Drip... Drip...
Blood ran and dripped heavily from the open wounds in her arms that were caused by her bones.
It was truly a wonder...
Lillian’s legs wobbled uncontrollably as she began to make her way around the corner.
A normal person like her, who just a week ago was just a normal human...
Lillian’s faint footsteps echoed quietly. However, that wasn’t the same for Lillian’s laboured breathing as she swayed side to side.
Her body, which had already long reached its limits, wished to collapse this very instant. But she had no luxury of doing that, not when her goal was just right before her eyes.
Not when she had just entered through the open archway.
Not when she had managed to arrive inside the large open room filled with tall, narrow stone pillars that were connected to both the ceiling and the ground and a glorious violet tree situated on top of a large dirt hill.
Her eyes stared shakingly at the tree, continuing her laboursome march towards it. She didn’t know why, but she just needed to reach it.
Drip... Drip... Drip...
Her blood continued to drip.
Her footsteps continued to echo.
And something else echoed as well...
Lillian shakily turned back, stiffening at the sight of the persistent monster that still chased after her through all that had just happened.
After emerging from the darkness, it shockingly made its way through the light coming out of the hole.
Its body now adapted to the change of balance from its missing leg that no longer expelled a river of blood.
Its teeth ominously chattered against each other as they did under the effects of the Sonata of Revenge’s enchantment. However, it seemed that it was doing it out of pure excitement.
Lillian’s face darkened, turning grim. She quickly faced forward and dragged her already weary body towards the dirt hill.
