I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 85
Chapter 85: Chapter 85
"Oh well, since this body of mine won’t listen I’ll just increase my XP," she muttered to herself, deciding to fill her day with something thrilling.
Without wasting time, she picked up her phone and dialed Stephen Colbert, her agent. Stephen had always been dependable, even if his company was struggling. She knew he would jump at the chance to assist her.
The phone rang only once before Stephen’s enthusiastic voice filled the line.
"Remillia? I’m so glad you contacted me again! I was beginning to think you’d switched agents on me."
"I just got busy these past few days and how could I forget you? You’re the first agent one who approached me."
He only chuckled, "So what time should we meet?"
"Meet me at 1 PM, same location as before," Remillia replied, already planning the hunt in her mind.
Stephen’s excitement was palpable. "Why don’t I pick you up at Athelyn?"
Remillia paused, sensing something more in his tone. "Oh? Don’t tell me...?"
"Yes!" Stephen couldn’t contain his joy. "It’s all thanks to you that I’ve finally managed to get my own car! Although, it’s on an installment plan, but still!"
"Well, good for you," Remillia said, a small smile tugging at her lips. It was nice to hear that her support had made a difference.
"So, Athelyn then?" Stephen pressed.
"I’ll be there around 10 A.M. The earlier, the more monsters we can hunt."
"I’m glad to have you in my company, Remillia," Stephen said sincerely.
"Likewise, Stephen. See you then."
Remillia quickly changed into another set of clothes, eager to get out and embrace the day’s adventure. As she adjusted her boots and grabbed her weapon, she glanced over at Macaron, who was lounging comfortably on her bed.
"Macaron," she called, "do you want to go outside with me?"
At the sound of her voice, the little owl perked up instantly. He hopped off the bed, his wings fluttering in excitement. <Of course!> Macaron chirped cheerfully, his eyes bright with anticipation.
"We’ll meet at Athelyn," With a smile, Remillia opened her balcony and Macaron flew excitedly.
As soon as Remillia stepped into the glowing portal of the Guild Station, a familiar tingling sensation washed over her. In an instant, the world around her shifted, and she found herself standing at the entrance of Athelyn. The bustling city greeted her with its towering spires, cobblestone streets, and the distant hum of early morning activity.
As she walked through the bustling streets of Athelyn, Macaron finally found her and settled on her shoulder.
"What took you so long?"
<Oh yeah? Then why don’t you try flying rather than teleporting?>
"What do you want to eat?"
Macaron’s mood instantly shifted as his eyes twinkled, <I want to try their native delicacies here!>
’I should have named you Beelzebub instead.’
After a short while, she noticed a jeep HUV parked along the curb, and the window rolled down to reveal Stephen’s beaming face. He waved eagerly, clearly relieved to have spotted her.
As Remillia approached Stephen’s car, she was taken aback by his appearance. Gone was the slightly frail, overworked agent she remembered. Instead, standing before her was a much fitter, more confident version of Stephen.
"Stephen? Is that you?" she asked, her eyes widening in surprise. "I almost didn’t recognize you. You’ve grown... more fit."
Stephen chuckled, a bit of pride in his voice as he replied, "Thanks for noticing. Because of you, I earned a lot and slowly changed my lifestyle."
Remillia nodded approvingly and climbed into the car with Macaron perched on her shoulder eating a cake. As he started the engine, he glanced at Macaron. "Is that your pet?"
"Yup, his name’s Macaron," Remillia said with a smile.
Stephen raised an eyebrow, amused. "You’re really peculiar, you know that?"
Remillia smirked. "I’ll take that as a compliment."
With the pleasantries exchanged, they settled into a comfortable conversation, talking about everything from the latest happenings at the academy to Stephen’s recent lifestyle changes.
The road to Luama Island was scenic, with lush green landscapes giving way to rocky coastlines as they neared their destination. The sun climbed higher in the sky, promising a warm day perfect for hunting. Stephen and Remillia continued their conversation, the comfortable atmosphere between them growing even stronger.
"So, how’s the academy been treating you?" Stephen asked, glancing over at her.
"It’s been... interesting," Remillia replied, thinking back on her recent adventures. "We had an encounter with an Apex monster recently. Almost didn’t make it."
Stephen’s expression turned into shock. "How did an Apex monster got inside the academy?"
Remillia gave him a brief rundown of their fight with the Subterranea and how she and her friends barely survived. "But we managed to kill it, thanks to a coordinated effort. It wasn’t easy, though."
Stephen whistled, impressed. "Sounds intense. I’m glad you made it out okay."
"Me too," Remillia agreed. "But enough about me. How did you manage to get so fit?"
Stephen grinned. "A lot of hard work and dedication. I realized I needed to be in better shape if I was going to keep up with clients like you. So, I started working out, eating right, and taking better care of myself."
"Well, it shows," Remillia said, genuinely impressed. "Good for you."
They drove in companionable silence for a while, the car’s tires crunching over gravel as they turned onto the final stretch leading to Luama Island. The island was known for its rugged terrain and dense forests, home to various monsters that provided ample hunting opportunities.
As they reached the island, Stephen parked the car near a trailhead leading into the woods. "Here we are," he announced, shutting off the engine. "Ready to hunt some monsters?"
"Always," Remillia said, her eyes gleaming with excitement. She opened the car door, and Macaron fluttered out, stretching his wings.
As they ventured into the dense forest of Luama Island, Remillia was in her element. Stephen followed closely behind, his role clear—he was there to manage the monsters she hunted, storing them in his newly bought upgraded magic pouch he carried.
The day was perfect for hunting, with the forest alive with the sounds of rustling leaves and distant animal calls. Remillia moved with practiced ease, her senses sharp and her focus unyielding. Meanwhile Macaron had separated from her earlier, flying off to do his own hunting. His sharp cries occasionally echoed through the trees, signaling his presence in the distance, leaving Remillia to focus on her task.
The first monster Remillia encountered was a Stonehide Boar, a standard-grade creature with rocky skin and a tendency to charge headfirst into its enemies. With deft movements, she sidestepped its charge and drove her dagger into a gap in its armor, quickly ending its life.
Stephen moved forward, pulling out a magic pouch that could store anything placed inside it. With a few quick gestures, he channeled the magic, and the boar’s body shrank, disappearing into the pouch.
"One down," Stephen noted, marking the beginning of a long day.
As they pressed on, Remillia found herself facing another standard-grade monster, the Bristleback Lizard. Its spiky hide and venomous bite posed a challenge, but Remillia’s agility allowed her to dance around its attacks, eventually delivering a fatal blow to its underbelly. Stephen repeated the process, storing the lizard away.
Next, she encountered a Thunderclaw Raptor, a nimble beast with electrified claws that crackled with energy. Its speed was nearly unmatched, but Remillia used the surrounding trees to her advantage, outmaneuvering it before striking it down.
The fourth and fifth standard monsters were the Shadowfang Wolf and Mirestalker Frog, both dangerous in their own right. The wolf relied on stealth, while the frog’s toxic skin made it difficult to handle. Remillia dispatched them with calculated precision, and Stephen ensured their remains were properly stored.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, Remillia’s hunt grew more intense. She soon faced an advanced-grade monster, the Gorehorn Stag. Towering over her, this beast’s antlers were razor-sharp and deadly. Remillia’s reflexes were put to the test as she dodged its powerful charges, finally bringing it down with a well-placed strike to its neck.
Not long after, she came upon the Ashenwing Harpy, an advanced monster with wings that could unleash scorching gusts of wind. Its aerial attacks were relentless, but Remillia used her surroundings, leaping from tree to tree, until she managed to slash through its defenses, sending it plummeting to the ground.
The third advanced monster, the Blightbark Ent, was a living tree with a malevolent spirit. Its thick bark made it difficult to penetrate, and its branches lashed out with terrifying force. Remillia had to be strategic, chipping away at its defenses until she exposed its heartwood and delivered a decisive blow.
As night began to fall, Remillia encountered her first elite-grade monster, the Nightshade Basilisk. Its petrifying gaze was its most fearsome weapon, and Remillia had to keep her eyes averted while fighting it. Using her heightened senses, she managed to avoid its deadly gaze and struck at its throat, severing its head in one clean motion.
