The king and the people in the room watch from the hologram as the golem kills and holds the monster marching. In their hand is a tower shield that is bigger than them and a sword the same size as them that kills many monsters in a single swing.

The archer on the wall is the one making sure not a single flying monster gets closer or even lands inside the fortress. Their accuracy is uncanny, as even the highest monster gets hit by their arrows.

As for the [Void Mage], the one with a star as a face, they are the ones protecting the [Treant Archer] and [Stone Golems] by casting buff and debuff spells. They have offensive spells, but their specialty is buffing, healing, and debuffing. In the game, they are the exact copy of a level seventy-five [Astrologian].

It was a low mid-tier player in the game, but they were enough to support the army of Golems and the Treants.

Each time the monster and the army of the Gokuya Kingdom manage to destroy a chunk of Golem’s body, the [Void Mage] casts their spell and heals the Golems to their peak condition.

Seeing their situation, Yarkim, the Lord Commander of the Army, frowns. He knows that sooner than later, his monster army will be gone.

He looks down and sees the ten rings on his finger. These rings are the one that makes sure he can control the monster that appears from the artificial portal that summons them. If he did not have these rings, the monsters would also attack them, and they would not survive such an attack.

Each of the rings can let him control one thousand monsters, no matter the size and power. That is the reason why he put the Void Crack across the Death Zone to get himself a powerful monster that lets him fight the enemy easier.

However, by the look of it, he and his army must move or wait again to gather more monsters. Sadly, they need to sacrifice another soul to the device to create mo Void Crack to summon more monsters.

Even the people in the room with the king know that the monster will not survive if they do not do anything.

The people in the room blink in surprise when someone appears in front of the man carrying the magic of the king.

"Found you."

The king’s talent is a supporting one. It is an evolution talent of the previous king. He can mark someone and use their eyes to spy on what the marked person sees and hears. The king is still on the throne because people did not know if the king had already marked them and spied on them and their families.

From that day on, the nobles of Gokuya Kingdom were afraid of the king and his talent. They did not know if the king listened to their conversation or not. They did not want to die or for their family to get humiliated like the former crown prince.

"So, what do you want?"

Shadow looks at the man in front of him and asks him the question.

"Lord Yarkim wants to ask the king about the move he needs to take. He wants to wait and gather more monsters because this one will not last long, or should they move and have a chance of the main army getting reduced from fighting these things?"

The king looks to his left and says.

"Connect me to Shadow."

Standing next to the king, the old man nods and creates a small magic circle. After a few seconds of whispering, the magic circle turns green from blue.

On the hologram, the people can see Shadow take out a piece of paper from his pocket and put his blood on the paper.

"Your Highness."

"Good, it is connected, your highness."

The king nod and the old man starts to talk to the magic circle.

"Attack them. We need to take the fortress before their army comes back. Yarkam should know the reason why the enemy is gone. They are retreating and will come back with a greater number. We cannot let that happen. This fortress will be a great place for a main point for our supply line. This is the point that lets us spread to the north."

What the king said is true. This fortress is the last defense between the Gipan and Gokuya Kingdom. If they can take the fortress, the enemy will have a hard time taking it back because of its strategic place.

The messenger nods and says.

"Of course, your highness. Lord Yarkim already prepares for an all-out assault. However, he needs time, your highness. He needs at least two days to build the siege engine to ensure they can get inside the fortress. It will not be enough to activate the monster-summoning device, but it should be good enough to build a couple of siege engines that we are already preparing to make."

The king has a frown on his face. He did not like when others tried to talk back to him when he was giving them an order. However, he also learns that they cannot rush war, or the consequences will be dire.

"Very well. I will give you four days to make all the siege engines to take down that blasted fortress. Take this fortress and make sure to win this war. With the north under control, we will take over the south next."

"Of course, your highness."

In their mind, it was only a matter of time before the fortress fell under their hand, and it was the truth to some extent, but they did not know there was a trap waiting for them. The [Stone Golem], [Treant Archer], and the [Void Mage] are not the only things that are waiting for them in this fight. There are traps that are waiting for them that hurt their standing army even more.

After four days of preparation, Yarkam and his army are ready to take over the fortress.

Yarkim orders his men to move out, following the monster in front of them. Instead of humans pushing the battering ram, the monsters were doing it—the same with their catapult and trebuchet.

Yarkim makes sure the bigger and tougher monsters are the ones who are taking all the damage while his men take care of the golem standing in their way.

The fight is slow, but they manage to destroy some of the [Stone Golem] and the [Treant Archer]. They cannot kill them all; even their monsters are gone, leaving only the humans in the army.

While the progress is slow, Yarkim nods and orders a retreat when the sun is about to set.

He keeps this pace, and after three days of battle, they manage to destroy the gate and pour into the fortress. From there, the fight increased in pace. Yarkim and his men butcher their way through the wall and kill all the [Treant Archer].

However, their pace slows down when they fight against the [Void Mage] as they are tricky things to fight. The [Void Mage] keeps slowing his army using debuff magic and healing each other. Because of this, Yarkim tells his men to focus on one [Void Mage] and kill them one by one. His army outmatches the [Void Mage]’s healing output by working together and killing them one by one.

Yarkim smiles and releases a victory roar, followed by his men. After ordering his men to take a rest inside the fortress, he decides to go to the lord’s mansion, where he searches if there is something valuable.

After searching for ten minutes and finding nothing, he went to the lord’s office. When he opens the door, he can see a crystal the size of his head. Thinking he got a jackpot, he got closer and touched the crystal.

When his hand touches the crystal, it shines, and suddenly, a thirty kilometers mushroom cloud appears. The people inside and outside the forest die within seconds.

The last thing is a giant fireball as if God of Sun punish them for what have they done.
