Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Youโ€™re Committing Adultery

"Archer?"

Nolan Winslow rushed to the hospital the moment he got off work.

Their child was sick at home, so Lily Callahan couldnโ€™t leave and asked him to come to check on things at the hospital. ๐Ÿ๐•ฃ๐•–๐ž๐ฐ๐•–๐š‹๐ง๐—ผ๐šŸ๐ž๐•.๐—ฐ๐จ๐ฆ

Irene Lynch wouldnโ€™t be able to get off work and take over for him until eight oโ€™clock.

But as soon as he walked in, he saw someone else in the hospital room. The more he looked, the more familiar the person seemed, so he called out uncertainly.

Archer Rhys turned his head. He wasnโ€™t the least bit surprised to see Nolan Winslow and simply gave a faint nod.

"It really is you! What are you doing here? And my sister...?" Nolan glanced at Archer, then back at his own sister.

Years ago, he had considered introducing his sister to Archer.

But then something unexpected happened, and Archer went straight into the military. After that, they lost all contact.

Later, Grace Winslow met Caleb Forrest, and the two of them somehow hit it off.

Even though her family was against it, Grace was determined to marry him.

The Winslow family only had one precious daughter; naturally, they couldnโ€™t bear to see her suffer.

When she got married, Nolan and his brother, along with Gregory Winslow and Irene Lynch, had managed to scrape together two hundred yuan for her to take to the Forrest family.

As for the sixty-yuan bride price from the Forrest family, they had used it all to buy gold, which was also sent along as part of her dowry.

He never imagined that now, just as Caleb Forrest and Grace were fighting to get a divorce, Archer Rhys would suddenly be back.

"Iโ€™m in the room next door," Archer Rhys said succinctly, not even mentioning what had happened with Grace earlier that day.

Nolan Winslow paused. "Is someone in your family sick?"

"My grandfather."

Nolan Winslow and Archer Rhys had known each other for many years.

Back then, Archer had lived next door to the Winslows with his grandfather, and the two families were very close.

He knew this was just how Archer wasโ€”a man of few words.

"Well, thank you for looking after my sister for so long. You should go back and see your grandfather. Iโ€™ve got it from here," Nolan Winslow said with a friendly smile, stepping forward with gratitude in his voice.

Archer Rhys pressed his lips together and glanced at Grace Winslow.

Her face was still pale.

Thinking about how she was married now, and how her in-laws had shown up to cause a scene earlier that day, he fell silent for a moment and was about to leave.

The door to the room was suddenly and violently thrown open again.

Caleb Forrest rushed in.

Normally so gentle and refined, he was now breathing heavily, his glasses were askew, and his fair face was flushed from exertion. His eyes were red, and he was clearly seething with rage.

This was especially true when he entered and saw another man in the roomโ€”a stranger.

Recalling what Ava Forrest had said, the fury in his heart intensified.

"Grace and I arenโ€™t divorced yet! Sheโ€™s still my wife. Even if youโ€™re eager to find her a new man, isnโ€™t this a little too rushed?"

"Besides, Iโ€™ll never agree to a divorce. This is just... youโ€™re helping her be a tramp!"

When he was angry, the words just came tumbling out without a filter.

Archer Rhys stood off to the side, his face impassive, and said nothing.

Nolan Winslow already had a low opinion of Caleb Forrest, and hearing him dare to slander his own sister made him snap. He lunged forward, grabbed Caleb by the collar, and roared, "You watch your filthy mouth! You think everyoneโ€™s as disgusting as you are?"

"Youโ€™re a disgusting person, so you think everything else is disgusting too!"

"Youโ€™re the one having an affair with that Ivy White, so you assume everyone else is sleeping with Grace, is that it?"

"Iโ€™m standing right here, and you have the nerve to slander Grace to my face! If I werenโ€™t here, how else would you frame her? How else would you torment her?"

The more Nolan Winslow thought about it, the angrier he became.

He had never liked Caleb Forrest.

Heโ€™d always thought the man was a complete hypocrite, and now he was more certain than ever that his first impression had been right.

โ€™What a waste for my poor sister. How did she end up with such a piece of trash!โ€™
