Chapter 67: 67:Eclipse reward.

The evening sun set slowly casting its warm rays across the elven capital.

Celebrations had not ended and most of the delegates were still walking and visiting as they waited for the couple to leave their chamber.

Light spilled through the curtains in thin gold lines, stretching across the bed, climbing over tangled sheets, and settling on the couple on the bed.

Lilith was awake her gaze fixated on the man lying below her. She had been awake for far longer than she wanted to admit as she stared at him, unmoving.

This had become a habit she had developed from the day he slept in her bed. Staring at his peaceful face, admiring him without his notice.

It was also a way, for her to confirm he was still there beside her not a dream she had conjured up.

Her fingers pressed slightly against his bare chest, barely enough to wake him.

She picked a strand of his hair and rubbed it between her fingers her mind automatically remembering how it felt between her thighs as he pleasured her.

She chuckled softly to herself.

How happy she was that she had fully possessed him, body-wise.

’I’m going to make sure my body is the only thing that arouses you. You can only ever seek me for your pleasure’

She knew how restrained and cunning man he was and she couldn’t trust his words unless she made him thoroughly and wholly addicted to only her.

The sight of other women should make him nauseous.

"Haa... how wonderful," she whispered to herself whistfully.

"What good things are you thinking about?" His voice came rough with sleep.

His hand around his waist tightened just for a second before it rested on her hips.

"Nothing. "

A raspy chuckle escaped him.

"Good morning," he said, looking down at her.

She leaned forward and took his lips.

"It’s evening silly," she said her lips curved.

Atheline pretended to be surprised and looked outside through the small gaps in the window.

"You’re warm," she said quietly.

Atheline’s hand moved to her back.

"You’re warm too," he said," how long have you been awake?"

He knew she always woke up earlier than he did. Way earlier. He had been startled at night the first time when he felt an intense stare but he eventually got used to the feeling and ignored it.

"I don’t know, you’re too good-looking, I didn’t look at the time," she said lightly.

Her hand came to his chest and above his heart. She released her aether, their usual routine but something different happened.

Shadows drifted on the walls and some even began appearing, a sight that sent shockwaves down Atheline’s spine.

He sat up slightly, unintentionally forcing her to remove her weight from his chest. She went back to her position the moment he balanced.

"You did that?" He pointed to the walls that had turned back. The whole room seemed to be swallowed by darkness itself.

"I didn’t do anything, " she said.

She flexed her hands and the shadows moved faster than normal.

"It’s different. "

He looked at the familiar shadows but he couldn’t place what was wrong. It just didn’t look like it always does.

That was when he felt it. His core, the cracks had basically been reduced by more than a half.

The deep gashes that spilled most of the aether had healed and only small cracks that would require a few months to go back to normal remained.

He almost jumped out of bed in shock but her weight kept him grounded.

"...The eclipse," he said softly.

She nodded but Atheline noticed she didn’t look very pleased unlike him.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, worried.

She shook her head. Instead, sat up and straddled him. It came to his attention that they were both still naked.

"Don’t move," she whispered and placed her forehead against his her eyes closed.

’Does she want a kiss?’

His perverted thoughts proved useless. The air around them shifted, and then the shadows covered them just like how it did every time they teleported.

As though triggered, his body reacted. His core converted Aether more smoothly than normal and his wind barely mixed with the other elements flowed out, merging with her shadows.

"What!"

Was the only word that could flow out of his mouth. He looked down at their merging powers, confusion intensifying.

"We are one," she whispered, " the goddess has approved of our union."

Her gaze went from soft to obsessive as she laughed out loud. Atheline held her waist slowly running his hands over her skin while enjoying the view.

It was in his daze that he heard it.

Ding.

The screen that had disappeared surfaced at the back of his mind.

[Congratulations on surviving the martial joining.]

’Light!’

•Slightly warmer pillow. (Mythical grade)

-The pillow is 3% warmer than average. Perfect for emotional stability.

Atheline was shocked by the second reward. Things were just getting weirder and weirder then something came into his mind.

’Where is the pillow?’

[Host did not provide a mode of storage]

The air shifted and Lilith tensed sensing the change. Atheline’s eyes widened when he noticed what was bout to happen but it was too late.

The pillow appeared above Lilith’s head and hit her, then rolled and fell behind her.

"I can explain," the words fell out before she could even get over her shock.

"Have you been hiding something from me?" She asked in a cold voice.

Atheline shook his head.

"I was going to tell you after the wedding, " she didn’t respond, Atheline continued, "I don’t know how it happened but the moment we were joined it appeared. "

Atheline explained everything that happened without hiding anything. He didn’t really see a reason to hide when it seemed fate was against that.

They were going to be married for as long as they lived and was he supposed to keep something so minimal hidden?

"Why didn’t you tell me earlier?" She insisted.

Atheline sighed.

"How was I supposed to perceive this system thing that just suddenly appeared, i wanted to understand it before I could even explain something so unreal."

Her eyes narrowed.

"Did you understand it then?" She asked.

Atheline shook his head.

"It appeared again this morning."

Her eyes narrowed.

"Maybe I should research a spell that allows me to read your mind," she casually said.

It seemed it slipped through her thoughts before she could fully process it.

Atheline swallowed.

"Sure, but please tell me first before you use it."

She smiled her possessiveness shining through her eyes.

"You really know me well."

He nodded.

"That makes you happy."

She nodded and touched the white pillow behind her.

"Show me how this new skill that you got works."

Atheline nodded.

[Aether stabilisation]

A small warmth wrapped around Atheline’s core guiding the little stray aethers back into the core and aiding in the conversion.

The power was minimal at best and barely noticeable unless he fully concentrated on it. He willed it to cover Lilith.

He watched as the small invisible bubble surrounded her and the aether around her stopped floating aimlessly and moved towards her body.

"Stop," she commanded.

The power retracted and Atheline waited for her verdict.

"What do you think?" He asked.

She looked at him with a mixture of something he couldn’t get.

"It’s a...." she hesitated as though trying to come up with the correct word and failed," ...something. "

She grimaced.

Atheline chuckled.

"I told you it’s pretty useless, it’s just there."

Lilith shook her head.

"Don’t ignore it, since it’s only low it might grow in grade as you grow stronger."

Atheline nodded. "I hope it will."

He picked up the pillow and pinched it but it didn’t feel any different.

"Don’t ever forget to tell me if it talks to you again. You know I don’t like secrets. "

Atheline nodded and smiled.

"Do you want to try the pillow?"

She pushed him down on the bed.

"Sure, why not?"
