I Awakened An Outer God Class-Chapter 33: Evil Spirits [5]
Daniel blinked his eyes and looked at Mikhail who stood there stupefied.
"What I drank was a mixture of ginger root, blood of two horned rabbit and boiled dark ore dust." Daniel said in a deep voice. "This gives me temporary spirit eyes that all vampires are born with." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
He looked down at the ingredients placed around the suitcase and his expression grew serious.
There were three silver plates placed in a triangular shape.
"To do any exorcism, you need three things." He said, without looking up. "Something related to the god you are asking for help, and something related to yourself."
He picked up the herb and showed it to Mikhail. "This is the gentle glow herb that represents the Faceless Moon."
Daniel put the herb down on one of the silver plates and spoke softly. He then took out the ring from his hand and placed it on the second plate.
Mikhail didn’t need him to explain that it was related to himself.
Then Daniel took out some ornaments and poured them onto the third plate.
In an instant Mikhail felt like the temperature of the surrounding area had dropped significantly.
He shuddered as if something he couldn’t see was looking at him.
"....This is a mixture of Salvia Divinorum, Mugwort and lavender oil." Daniel explained in a soft voice. "Their essence attracts all types of ghosts and spirits in the vicinity."
Daniel took in a breath and looked at Mikhail with his deep black eyes. "What you did with the silver plates was create a barrier to keep evil spirits from outside the school."
Mikhail nodded his head but he couldn’t stop his body from trembling.
’...Man, I really want to go home.’
Daniel lowered his gaze and said. "Protect me."
Mikhail blinked, and just then a chair came flying towards Daniel from the darkness.
He immediately moved and punched the chair, saving Daniel from getting hit.
"Go away...."
"Stay away...."
"Leave us alone...."
’What the hell?’
Mikhail felt goosebumps all over his body as those soft sobbing voices began to fill his ears.
He felt a clench in his chest, like he could feel the pain in their voices.
Daniel didn’t give those voices any importance as he lowered his hand and closed his eyes.
"Oh, beloved Goddess of Moon and guidance...."
"You are the mother that looked after us...."
"Be benevolent and help me free those children from their shackles...."
His voice echoed within the school like a melodious tone.
A bench was thrown at him and Mikhail jumped and kicked it to change its trajectory.
The voices which were just sobs immediately turned into enraged screams.
More and more items began to fly in their direction from the darkness.
Mikhail quickly got overwhelmed and a few even hit Daniel, who didn’t stop chanting.
’This won’t do!’
He immediately used [Enhancement] on his senses and used [Black Spike] to create a long thin rod in his hand.
Using it, he began to deflect the thrown objects just enough so they didn’t disturb Daniel.
"Oh, beloved Goddess of Moon and guidance...."
"You are the mother that looked after us...."
"Be benevolent and help me free those children from their shackles...."
Daniel kept on repeating those chants again and again and the cries of the children grew louder and louder.
Mikhail got into position, his breath turning ragged as he kept on deflecting all the attacks.
And just as Daniel repeated the chant for the eleventh time, everything stopped.
Mikhail immediately caught his breath but didn’t let his guard down.
Daniel opened his eyes, blinked them back to normal and looked around.
In the darkness, gentle silver lights began to glow.
Mikhail, who had gotten some breathing room, looked on in astonishment as the silhouettes of children appeared.
They were all around the age of 14, with eyes filled with tears of blood.
They were all the students who had committed suicide in the last six months.
Those children slowly became covered in a complete silver hue before a small luster appeared in their eyes.
In unison, they all bowed slightly in their direction before their bodies began to fade away.
Mikhail, who had witnessed all of this, couldn’t help but feel stunned, standing still like a statue.
He only got his senses back when he felt Daniel pat his shoulder.
"Well done."
He said, taking out a handkerchief and clearing the blood that was on his face from the attack before.
He began to pack up the things he had brought without saying anything else.
Mikhail finally formed a question and asked. "Does this mean gods are real?"
Daniel let out a soft chuckle. "They were always real."
Mikhail felt his body go numb like he had been thrown into an ice filled lake. ’So, I was making fun of real gods all this time....’
Daniel, as if hearing his inner thoughts, smiled. "They won’t do anything to you unless you are some heretic who doesn’t fit with our world."
’Does having an Outer God Class count....’
He swallowed the question, fearing the worst.
Though he couldn’t stop himself from asking. "Do you believe in the Faceless Moon?"
"You don’t need to believe in them to do the ritual." Daniel replied in a soft tone.
Mikhail pressed further. "Then how did you learn rituals?"
Daniel only smiled and looked at his vintage watch. "It’s getting late." He said. "Would you mind bringing those silver plates back?"
Mikhail nodded blankly and began to walk towards the terrace.
’...This is really troublesome.’ He thought with a tired sigh.
He kept on walking until he reached the top floor.
Mikhail walked towards the silver plate but suddenly stopped.
’Huh?’
He felt a burning pain in his hand and his eyes rolled back in an instant.
Mikhail ’saw’ the school from above like he was an all-knowing being.
His vision passed through the layers of the school walls before it stopped at the centre of the school.
He ’saw’ all those students who had committed suicide formed in a circle around an odd looking small statue that was burning in flames.
Along with them was a man in his late twenties with short black hair and a trimmed beard.
He had a disgusting, sinister smile on his face as he watched the children performing a ritual.
Mikhail took in a sharp breath as he immediately fell to his knees.
He tried to gather his breath while his gaze fell on his finger that was burning bright red.
Mikhail instinctively glanced at his status screen for any changes and found one.
