I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 717 - 714: Hide and Seek is Fun, Isn’t It? (3)
"Of course, it’s true. She wouldn’t be able to without a formal medical certification."
"I got it." Kris Cooper handed his phone to Tommy Taylor, then stood still for a few seconds before striding forward and rushing into his office.
"Miss Isla, I understand your feelings. However, I don’t think this is the best choice for Miss Wave," Tommy Taylor said, looking at her with a deep gaze. "Miss Wave is now alone and adrift. Aren’t you worried about her safety?"
"I... of course I’m worried!" Isla Hawskin frowned. "But I really don’t know where she is. Otherwise, I would have found her by now!"
Tommy Taylor nodded. "I know you wouldn’t betray your friend. If she contacts you again, I hope you can persuade her to come back."
"I understand," Isla Hawskin responded.
As they were talking, Kris Cooper came out holding a laptop. Seeing this, Tommy Taylor quickly ran over to him.
Kris Cooper rushed into the elevator and immediately instructed Tommy to have the driver get the car ready. While Tommy Taylor was on the phone with the driver, Kris Cooper sat right on the floor, put the laptop down, and CLACK! CLACK! CLACK! His fingers flew furiously over the keyboard.
As he worked, a long string of code appeared on the screen.
Confused by the situation and not daring to interrupt, Tommy Taylor could only stand by and wait.
Moments later, the elevator reached the ground floor. Kris Cooper picked up the laptop, got into the car, and continued typing on the keyboard in the back seat without uttering a single word.
After almost an hour, Kris Cooper finally stopped typing and hit enter.
A map immediately popped up on the screen. A small red dot appeared on the map shortly after.
Kris Cooper clicked to enlarge the map, glanced at the location of the red dot, and immediately looked up.
"XX Hospital."
The driver hurriedly started the car and drove to the hospital Kris Cooper had mentioned.
「The Hospital—Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department.」
Sitting on a waiting chair, Vera Wave took the strongbox she had received from the prison staff from her bag.
Inside the box lay a wedding ring and a necklace.
Both items had been given to her by Kris Cooper and handed over to the prison staff for safekeeping when she was incarcerated.
She picked up the wedding ring, gently stroking its band. Vera Wave furrowed her brow slightly.
That man must still be looking for her. What should she do?
Touching her still-flat belly, which as yet betrayed no hint of her pregnancy, she let out a soft sigh.
This was her and his child. She should tell him. The baby should have a father. But...
Clasping the ring tightly in her hand, Vera Wave clutched her head.
God, what on earth was she supposed to do?
"Patient number 52, Vera Wave, please proceed to consulting room number three."
Hearing her name called, she hurriedly gathered her belongings, carefully put them into her bag, and entered the consulting room.
The female doctor looked up at her, inquired about her condition, and then filled out her patient chart.
"What seems to be the problem?"
"I... I’m pregnant."
The female doctor’s gaze fell on her face.
"Do you want to keep it or not?"
Vera froze, taken aback. "Ah..." she murmured, then hurriedly asked, "What do you mean?"
"If you want to keep it, I’ll order the necessary examinations. If not, I’ll arrange an operation for you."
An operation?!
Vera immediately shook her head. "No... I want this child."
The doctor nodded, quickly wrote out a few referral slips, and handed them to her. "Go and get these tests done."
Vera left with the referral slips to pay the fees and wait in line.
