I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 535 - 533: An Awesome Man (2)
"Wave vs. Spencer: The Showdown! Whose Side Are You On?"
"\"Flame\" Wrap-Up Party: Wife Confronts Mistress"
...
Vera Wave could only react with a wry laugh to these eye-catching headlines.
Looks like "Flame" is bound to be a hit this time! The director previously tried to use me to generate buzz, but Kris Cooper didn’t agree. This time, it seems like we can’t avoid the hype even if we want to!
After Kris Cooper proposed to me, I became a focal point of public attention and the object of envy for many girls. The internet was flooded with tears back then; so many girls cried that I had stolen their dream guy. Now, with this kind of news breaking, I really don’t know if everyone will curse me to death.
Vera hovered her cursor over the comment section, thought for a moment, but ultimately decided not to click and read the comments.
Out of sight, out of mind!
If I saw people scolding me, wouldn’t that just be asking for trouble?
Merlin Bradley knocked again and walked in, placing the printed forms on her desk.
"Vera, I’ve joined your Dream Chaser Camp!"
Dream Chaser Camp?
Vera was surprised again.
"What’s that?"
"It’s your fan camp!"
"Fan...fan camp?!" Vera’s mouth fell open, and then she burst out laughing. "Stop teasing me! I don’t have any fan group. Did you create it?"
Merlin Bradley spoke earnestly, "Seriously!"
Someone knocked on the door. Merlin Bradley turned her head and saw a colleague walk in, holding a stack of art drafts. Merlin immediately pulled the colleague over to Vera. "You tell her!" Merlin urged her colleague.
"What am I supposed to say?" the colleague asked, confused.
"About the Dream Chaser Team! I told her it’s Vera’s fan team, but she doesn’t believe it," Merlin explained.
Hearing this, the colleague perked up.
"Vera, I’m telling you, you are trending, big time!"
Vera only gave a wry smile.
"Popular, you say? I feel more like I’m burning up with a fever!"
"No, really, did you know? Since the news broke last night, you’ve already made it into the top ten of Google’s trending searches, and you’re still climbing! I think... you might even make it into the top three!"
"Isn’t that a bit of an exaggeration?" Vera was also somewhat surprised.
"For real! If you don’t believe me... Google it yourself!" The colleague moved towards her, took hold of her mouse, navigated to the Google website, clicked a few times, and pulled up the trending public figures’ search rankings. "Check it out!"
Vera shifted her gaze and, sure enough, saw her name in ninth place. Her numbers were already nearly level with Logan Miles in eighth place. At this rate, she would surpass him soon.
She couldn’t help but marvel.
Wow, I’m really trending!
"At this rate, when you get another movie offer, your value will definitely surpass Irene Spencer’s." The colleague stared at her, eyes shining. "Vera, why don’t you hire me as your agent?"
Merlin Bradley joked, "Who do you think you are? If she hires anyone, it’ll be me!"
The colleague laughed. "Why are we good friends arguing? Vera, as such a big celebrity, you should at least have two assistants and five bodyguards!"
"Right, we’ll do it together!" Merlin chimed in.
The two grew more excited, while Vera felt a headache coming on.
"Ladies, ladies! Calm down, calm down!" Vera grabbed her two colleagues, who were daydreaming about being assistants. "I have no intention of becoming a celebrity, so let’s get back to work! This planning project is at a crucial stage, so let’s focus on our actual jobs, okay?"
"Wait!" the colleague turned to look at her. "You... you really don’t want to act anymore?"
"Is that true?" Merlin Bradley also turned to her curiously. "You acted so well. Why wouldn’t you continue?"
