I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 518 - 516 Rabbit Rabbit (5)
"I... I’d better go shower first!"
Sticking out her tongue, she turned and ran into the bathroom.
As Vera Wave rushed into the bathroom, Kris Cooper reached out to grab the two ugly little rabbits.
Of course, these two rabbits weren’t the same ones from back then. He had simply found similar ones based on his memory.
The original pair were prizes from a claw machine. That night, when he confessed his feelings, she had been fixated on those two rabbits.
"If you can get both rabbits, I’ll be your girlfriend."
That night, he used all his cash to buy game tokens, eventually winning the two rabbits for her.
Forgetful as she was, she hadn’t brought her wallet.
At that time, they were in a small town. In the middle of the night, no taxis accepting cards could be found, so they had to walk several blocks back to their hotel. Though tiring, the journey was filled with laughter.
Unfortunately, now these could only be his memories!
"Honey?"
Vera Wave peered out from the bathroom, intending to ask him to fetch something for her. But then she saw him there, gently stroking one of the rabbits, lost in nostalgia.
Seeing his smile fade into a sigh and a shake of his head, her face fell.
Sigh! He must be thinking about the past, but alas... Vera Wave knocked on her own head. Why can’t this silly head remember anything!
At the sound, Kris Cooper snapped back to reality.
"What’s wrong?"
"Oh..." she responded with a mischievous smile, "Honey, I... I forgot to bring my underwear. Could you get them for me?"
Setting down the rabbit, Kris Cooper rolled out of bed, fetched her clothes, and brought them over.
"Want me to join you in the shower?"
She took the clothes and immediately shut the door tight.
"I don’t want that!"
If she showered with him, she’d just have to shower again afterward. She wasn’t going to fall for that!
After finishing her shower, she asked Kris Cooper about the wrap party that night, specifically if she needed to wear formal attire.
"No need. It’s just the crew, so you don’t have to be that formal."
Vera Wave walked into the walk-in closet and, after a moment, pulled out a dress he had bought for her during one of his business trips.
"Does this look good?"
He glanced at the dress in her hand.
"No need for something so grand. Just wear what you’d normally wear to work and go straight there."
Wearing that kind of dress would require high heels. The thought of her feet aching in them made him wince.
Vera Wave rolled her eyes at him.
"I want to dress up beautifully so I won’t be outshone by certain people!"
Even though it wasn’t a formal banquet, Irene Spencer would definitely be there, and she refused to be outdone by that woman.
Guessing who the "certain person" she referred to was, Kris Cooper simply chuckled.
She always teased him for being jealous, but wasn’t she just as bad!
"Come, let me pick something out for you. I guarantee you’ll be the prettiest one there tonight."
Embracing her, he led her into the walk-in closet. He glanced at the racks for a bit before picking out a denim skirt set with delicate openwork embroidery for her. "Mom brought this back for you from Europe," he said. "It’s not available in the country yet. It suits your style perfectly, so wear this!"
Vera Wave held it up to the mirror and nodded with satisfaction.
"Then I’ll wear this set! It’s perfect, I won’t have to wear high heels and my feet won’t hurt!"
She grabbed a paper bag and put the clothes inside.
"Aren’t you going to wear it now?"
"Of course, I am!" The young lady winked at him. "I’ll change into it after work. Otherwise, if it gets wrinkled from wearing it all day, it won’t look good!"
See you at dawn.
