I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 515 - 513 Rabbit Rabbit (2)
The familiar scene resurfaced, and with it came a headache. She massaged her throbbing temples, striving to recall the man’s face from her memories, but it remained a blur.
Helpless, she gave up. She noticed a small rabbit plush toy next to her and reached out to pick it up.
It was a pair of small rabbits sitting side-by-side. Little rabbits... 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Holding the rabbit plushie, she tried to remember, but instead found herself leaning against the large plush toy, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.

Outside, Kris Cooper got out of his car. He gestured for the driver to leave and took out his keys to open the front gate.
He went to the backyard and pushed open the bedroom door, but Vera was nowhere to be found.
Her bag was on the table. She should have been off work by now. If she wasn’t sleeping in bed, where could she be?
Putting down his laptop, Kris walked into the study, but no one was there.
He turned back to the washroom. Still no one.
Returning to the room, he looked around and immediately noticed a faint light coming from a room across the hall—his storage room.
"Naughty girl!"
Muttering angrily under his breath, he strode over and pushed open the door.
A flashlight was lying on the floor. The light he saw earlier came from it.
Vera was holding a small bunny plush toy, leaning against a giant bear plush toy, fast asleep.
Seeing her like this, he felt a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
What should I say to her?
To sneak over here and then fall asleep in this place of all places...
He walked over, intending to remove the pair of toy rabbits from her grasp.
But Vera held tightly onto them, refusing to let go.
Fearing he might wake her, he gave up and gently lifted her from the floor, cradling her in his arms.
Vera stirred, drowsily opening her eyes to look at him.
"Honey, you’re back..."
He thought she had woken up and was about to reply, but she just tilted her head, leaned against him, and closed her eyes again.
Kris bent down to look at her. Her eyes were tightly closed, and gentle breaths puffed from her tiny nose. It was obvious she was truly fast asleep.
He could only shake his head with a frustrated smile, tightening his arm around her as he carried her back to the bedroom and carefully laid her on the bed.
After dimming the lights, he went to close the door of the other room, then returned to shower and go to bed.
...
...
When Vera woke up, it was already the next morning.
She opened her eyes and saw Kris lying next to her. She paused for a moment, then snuggled closer and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Roused by her movement, Kris turned his head and gently kissed her hair.
"Honey, when did you get home?"
"A little past one."
She yawned in his arms. "I had no idea."
"Vera," Kris said, lifting her chin. "Can you promise me one thing?"
She grinned. "I can promise you a hundred things!"
He chuckled. "No need for that many. I just want you to promise you’ll stop going into that room."
"I..." Her eyes darted around for a moment. "I didn’t go! I... I worked overtime yesterday, then came back, showered, and went to sleep."
"Really?"
"Of course."
She avoided his gaze.
She was never one to lie, especially to him; her face was already flushed.
"Then... what’s that in your arms?"
In my arms?
"You!" she replied with a laugh.
"I was referring to those two little rabbits!" Kris said.
