Mary struggled hard to shake off her grip, her gaze landing on Vera sitting in the room, causing her to pause.

"Who do you want to complain about?!" Kate asked.

At this point, Archie Perkin also noticed Vera sitting at the desk, her eyes landing on Vera’s face, and she pointed directly at her.

"Her, Vera! She conspired with Mary to steal my proposal!"

"You... what nonsense are you spouting, I didn’t steal it!" Mary immediately began to defend herself, "I never stole anything."

"Hmph!" Archie snorted coldly, "If you didn’t steal it, then where’s my USB drive?"

Mary was about to speak, but Vera had already stood up.

"I have it!" she said, taking the USB drive out of her pocket, "Is this it?"

Seeing the USB drive in her hand, Archie instantly walked over and snatched it from her grip.

"That’s right, this is my USB drive!" She turned her face, looking at Mary, "Do you still want to deny stealing it?"

"I..."

Mary was at a loss for words, not expecting Vera to take the initiative to reveal the USB drive.

"She didn’t steal it." Vera spoke again, "Mary found it and handed it to me, thinking it was mine."

Mary had originally thought Vera would sell her out, but when Vera spoke up for her, she immediately chimed in, "Exactly, that’s it, I found it, I didn’t steal it! There was no name on it, how was I supposed to know whose it was, I thought it was Vera’s!"

"Birds of a feather!" Archie sneered disdainfully and turned her face again to look at Kate, "Manager Kate, how are we going to handle this? My proposal is now here, and Vera must have already seen it. How do we resolve this situation?"

Kate, being the person she was, had long since guessed the rough truth and finally understood the real reason why Vera wanted to give up this project.

Looking at Vera in front of the desk, Kate raised the corners of her lips.

If it were someone else, at this point Vera would just need not to admit it, and no one could do anything to her. Given her current status, who could question her?
