I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 390: Never Leave Me (Part 3)
"Don’t leave... don’t leave me..."
"I’m not leaving, I’m just helping you take off your clothes."
"Don’t go..."
The man always held her tightly in his arms, murmuring these three words repeatedly.
Propping up on her arms, Vera spoke gently as if soothing a child.
"I promise I won’t leave. Let me wipe your face, take off your clothes, so you can sleep more comfortably, okay?"
He just held her tighter.
"I won’t let you go! Never...ever..."
She stopped struggling, simply reaching over to pull the quilt piled aside, covering both of them, and gently soothing his back with her palm.
"Alright, I won’t leave, won’t leave... always stay with you... you be a good boy and sleep..." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
The man’s breathing gradually steadied and softened, and she stopped moving, gazing at his face.
His face was slightly flushed from alcohol, his pretty brows furrowed into small knots.
Vera raised her hand and gently smoothed out the furrows in his brow.
His hand reached over, grasping her palm and placing it on his chest. The man smiled contentedly, handsome yet adorable, making Vera smile involuntarily.
He smelled of alcohol, but it wasn’t unpleasant; instead, it had an intoxicating aroma that tempted even her.
Thus, she leaned gently into his arms, closed her eyes.
Like this, they slept together, still with their shoes on, clothes on, embracing each other.
The light was left on, and the curtains were not drawn...
A man who usually loves insomnia and a woman who usually sleeps uneasily, yet tonight, both slept peacefully.
...
...
Early the next morning, Vera was awakened by the alarm and opened her eyes, still held in his embrace.
She lifted her head, looking at the bright sky outside the window. She gently removed Kris Cooper’s arm draped over her, and climbed out of bed.
On the pillow, Kris Cooper was stirred by her movement, his right hand unconsciously reaching out to search the bed.
Seeing him like this, she quickly picked up a pillow and placed it in his arms. The man immediately hugged the pillow, settling down again.
Vera chuckled softly, quickly covering her mouth, tiptoeing quietly to the window to draw the curtains and turn off the light. She carefully exited the bedroom, closing the door bit by bit.
Before the door was completely shut, she didn’t forget to peek inside through the crack to ensure Kris Cooper was still sleeping peacefully in bed, then she relaxed a little.
She went to the bathroom in the living room, quickly washed up, checked the time on her phone, which was still early, found the keys, and left the apartment to buy breakfast at a nearby fast-food restaurant to bring back, boiled water and kept it warm in the pot.
She found paper and pen in the study room, wrote a note, carefully pinched the note to place it on the bedside table, pressing it under his phone.
She placed the keys on the table, glanced at Kris Cooper who was still asleep, then bent down to lightly kiss his cheek, adjusted the blanket over him, and then left the apartment.
She relaxed her footsteps as she walked to the elevator, entered the divided elevator.
Leaving the apartment, she hailed a taxi and got in, took out the breakfast she brought and started eating, while pulling out her phone to scroll through.
On the phone, there was a Whatsapp message from the money-loving friend last night.
"Ruben and I have safely sent everyone home, you don’t need to worry. Also, it’s evident that the big boss really likes you, congratulations, Vera."
