I am the Ruler of the Kingdom of Mysterious-Chapter 161 - 135: Confronting the Fish Woman
Sang Que returned home from the Hidden Realm of the Deceit Dynasty, consuming three times as much as before. She didn’t enter the modern hidden world but returned to her normal home.
Returning home consumed three trigrams, and returning to the Deceit Dynasty also consumed three trigrams, bringing her back to the Hidden Realm.
Compared to last time from the modern world to Black Mountain Village, she directly entered the Hidden Realm of Black Mountain Village, consuming only a single trigram. Sang Que speculated that this might be related to where the door’s location is marked.
Last time, she returned to the modern world from the normal world of Black Mountain Village, with the door location marked in the normal world of Black Mountain Village, so traveling from modern world to Black Mountain Village consumed only one trigram.
And when she entered the Hidden Realm at that time, it should have been influenced by the Mountain Ghost Token inside the Witch Temple, seamlessly pulling her into the Hidden Realm. The Mountain Ghost Token was also found inside the Witch Temple after entering the Hidden Realm that time.
Luckily, she was diligent, keeping eight trigrams with the Yansheng coin; otherwise, after returning home, she wouldn’t be able to come back immediately.
The Yin Child had embroidered shoes to freely enter and exit the Hidden Realm, but unfortunately couldn’t take others along.
To leave the Hidden Realm, she still had to do like before at Black Mountain Village, find a distortion point, or figure out how the Mountain Ghost Token brought her in, and then use the same method to get out.
Xia Chan and the others were still in Pinghu Village, so Sang Que put off leaving the Hidden Realm for later. After greeting her mother at home, she used the abilities of the Evil Mist to block cameras and changed her appearance, buying six barrels of gasoline.
The Fish Woman Village at the lake’s bottom was very quiet, seemingly not attracting attention as long as it wasn’t invaded.
Using Instant Teleportation, she circled the village walls, poured the gasoline, and took one last look at the three words ’Fish Woman Village’ on the front high wall, blowing the flint and tossing it casually.
Whoosh!
The fierce flame roared and crazily spread along the entire outer wall, engulfing in a blink of an eye the entire wall of Fish Woman Village.
Heat waves surged up, and the ground trembled slightly. The stone walls scorched by the blazing fire cracked inch by inch. The cracks, like fish scale patterns, overflowed with a massive amount of fresh blood.
A huge shadow appeared above the Fish Woman Village, obscured by thick mist. Only a blood-red eye, terrifying and fierce, could be seen from within the shadow, staring at Sang Que with overwhelming anger.
Sang Que couldn’t describe the form of that shadow; a chill enveloped her instantly, her shoulders growing heavy, her whole body in pain, feeling like sharp and thin fish scales were growing from beneath her skin.
She immediately moved her gaze away, about to teleport from the lake bottom, suddenly couldn’t find the Yin Child’s trace.
Hands with fish scales, slippery and sticky, emerged from the ground through the bones and tightly grasped Sang Que’s ankle.
The terrifying chill from behind rapidly approached, Sang Que’s scalp tightened, and she hurriedly used another flint to light the already prepared Exorcism Red Candle, the one from Yan Daozi.
As the candle flame ignited, an airflow fiercely hit Sang Que’s back. She wielded the saber to cut off the fish-scaled hands at her feet.
The sky quickly darkened, darkness as if solid, attacking from all directions, extinguishing the world’s light with force, leaving only the burning Fish Woman Village and the candlelight in Sang Que’s hand.
The candle burned at an unbelievable speed, and the glow grew dimmer and dimmer.
This indicated that the level of the Fish Woman was around the fifth layer, able to quickly burn the candle but unable to break through its illuminated range directly. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
All over the ground were hands covered with fish scales, with dense holes from which clusters of blue-black thread-like worms extended.
The originally bone-filled lake bottom instantly turned into a sea of blue-black grass, waving like waves in the wild night’s wind.
Sang Que heard sharp, inhuman screeching from behind, feeling extremely angry emotions, making the surrounding hidden mist boil and churn.
The piercing cold wind kept approaching from behind, each time causing the candle to burn faster, reducing it significantly in a blink.
The Copper Coin Armor inside her clothes was heating up, dispelling the chill from her body. Sang Que used the Mountain Ghost Seal to forcefully summon back the Yin Child while taking out the Mask Seal from her collar. When the chilling wind from behind swept in again, she turned and threw the seal.
The seal was given by Wan Xiangtou to Yan Daozi to deal with the village ghost and would definitely cause some damage to the Fish Woman.
In the dark, nothing could be seen. After throwing the seal, Sang Que didn’t bother to look carefully, using the Hundred Victory Saber to sever the ghost hands and worms around, clearing a path toward the lakeshore.
The sound of shattering things was accompanied by an operatic-like laugh, and Sang Que’s body suddenly felt light, with the Exorcism Red Candle extinguishing just as the Yin Child finally returned to her side.
Sang Que saw the Yin Child holding an eyeball, not bothering to ponder where the Yin Child had found it, immediately using Evil Mist Instant Teleportation to distance herself from Fish Woman Village.
Before she could teleport a second time, the ground suddenly filled with crimson eyes, like fish, each the size of a fist, densely packed together, blinking, glaring.
An oppressive aura engulfed them, directly suppressing the Yin Child’s power.
Sang Que heard many voices overlapping and intertwining, male and female, old and young, passing from under her feet to her ears.
"Destroy my... Divine..."
"Unforgivable... Sin..."
"Give your life!!!"
The heat from the Copper Coin Armor was diminishing, and clusters of blue-black thread-like worms rolled toward Sang Que from all directions.
Sang Que reached into her bosom for the Yin Object Key, just about to open the Opera House to fend off for a while when those blue-black worms were suddenly crushed into dust by an invisible force.
Sang Que felt something behind her; she couldn’t turn her head, only glimpsing a part of a phantom from the corner of her eye.
"Witch Lady... no..."
"No—"
The overlapping voices suddenly became trembling and terrified, and the eyes on the ground exploded one after another as Sang Que’s fingers touched the Mountain Ghost Token in her bosom.
The world spun wildly, huge pressure crashing onto Sang Que, and she was suddenly separated from the Hidden Realm, plunging into the icy lake water.
Sang Que promptly held her breath, the Yin Child’s power still suppressed. She could only swim upward with all her might, a dull cracking sound coming from below, whirlpools formed by the undercurrents appearing around Sang Que.
A pale swollen arm stretched out from the undercurrent, grabbing Sang Que’s ankle and dragging her toward the lake’s bottom.
It was a Water Ghost!
Without the water’s divine protection, suddenly appearing in the water immediately attracted the Water Ghost’s attention, hence the Yin Child was thoroughly suppressed.
Wherever there’s water, there are traces of Water Ghosts, far more powerful than the Qingjiang Envoy and Fish Woman who receive incense offerings from the locals, as Water Ghosts embody the Deceit Dynasty’s people’s every fear.
Her body was dragged, rapidly descending, large shadows appeared at the lake bottom, cold and dead, terrifyingly giving a sense of horror one dared not directly face.
Sang Que could almost ’see’ the corpse masses intertwined with water plants.
She spat out a string of bubbles, holding her breath tightly, wielding her saber to cut the ghost hand dragging her and continued struggling upward.
Unfortunately, whirlpools and undercurrents kept emerging around her, corpses with flowing hair, swollen bodies lifted straight out from those currents, standing in the lake water.
Every time she approached, they would immediately open their eyes to attack her.
Just now, Witch Lady’s Divine Power helped repel the Fish Woman, undoubtedly because she had worshipped the Mountain Ghost Token, but evidently, this power had been exhausted and couldn’t help her again.
She vowed never to rely on last-minute prayers again and resolved to frequently light incense.
Sang Que, wielding a long knife in one hand and a Ten Victory Stone Dagger in the other, propelled herself with her legs, gliding between the corpses. She sliced at every one she encountered, but the sheer number of corpses was overwhelming, endless.
Running out of breath, Sang Que felt her lungs would explode, her arm movements with the blade slowing, losing strength, more and more corpses surrounding her, while the light above got farther and farther away.
