I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 47: I’m exhausted
Clara, standing right in front of Ariel, glared at her and then glanced over at Marco.
"You, what are you doing here? And with her! Didn’t you say you were going to be working late?" She immediately fired and shifted her gaze back to Ariel before anyone had the chance to explain. "You!" She stepped forward. "Did you do this? You want to try to take my man, huh?"
"Clara." Marco stepped in between them. "Don’t hurry to jump to conclusions." He said.
"What am I jumping into? You two are clearly together." She said and grabbed Marco’s collar. "Tell me, are my eyes wrong?"
"It’s not like that." Marco defended. "We just bumped into each other in the elevator." He explained as a drop of sweat rolled down from his temple. "I said I was working late, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t go out to have dinner."
"You came all this way just to have dinner? It’s like a half an hour drive from the office." Clara smartly pointed out. "Do you think I’m stupid?"
Marco hugged her.
"Come on, don’t insinuate anything. I came here because it’s what I felt like eating." He said. "Don’t accuse innocent people like that." His voice was soothing but Clara’s anger was too high to easily fall.
"Innocent?" She pushed him away from her. "This bitch is far from innocent. Don’t you remember what she did to us at our wedding?"
Things were escalating more quickly than Ariel thought it would. Yes of course, Clara’s hot temper could never let her down. She chuckled.
"What are you laughing at?" Clara flared at her.
"It’s funny how you have so little faith in your husband." She simply said and started walking away but Clara’s friends stopped her, barricading the way with their bodies. "What’s this?"
"No one said you could leave." Clara said.
"Oh, did I need anyone’s permission to leave the restaurant I came to on my own accord?" She asked, folding her arms and purposely showcasing the red Prada purse she was carrying.
She stood with confidence and let the money that shimmered all over her body speak for her.
"You... "
"Clara." Marco called, almost to the point of yelling which shocked her. He sighed and held her. "And what good would it do me to see my boss’s lover in a public place?" He asked, which actually made sense. "I told you, we only met at the elevator."
Ariel checked her watch and started walking away without a single word. She had heard and seen enough to the point she just couldn’t take it any longer and, scared that she might do something ’extraordinary’, she decided to leave.
’Seeing how he tried talking her out of the idea reminded me of my old self. Marco is such a sweet talker. No wonder I ended up becoming a fool to his whims.’ She thought and as she left the restaurant, five body guards took their position behind her, escorting her to the parking lot.
She flung her hair in the air like nothing else mattered and truly, nothing else mattered. This was her now, the fool she once was would never again see the light of day.
After getting home, she found herself diving into her bed.
"Won’t you wash your face?" Allison asked and she simply waved her hand, signalling them to leave her be.
"I’m exhausted." She mumbled and closed her eyes. ’Let me just close my eyes for a sec. I’ll wash my face after a five minute shut eye and...’ Of course, there was no chance of that happening as that five minute shut eye grew deeper by the second.
Raymond got back late from the office. He checked his watch and turned to Edward.
"Is she back yet?" He asked and to which, Edward nodded.
"Yes, master. She is currently in her room."
Raymond took off his coat, his watch and his tie and handed them to Edward. After which, walked away in the direction of Ariel’s room.
He found Allison and Betty standing outside the door, wondering what to do about the situation. Raymond had told them to always assist Ariel when taking a bath and to also make sure she was comfortable before she slept, yet she dismissed them as soon as she found her safe haven.
Raymond paid no attention to the maids on standby and simply opened the door, only to find Ariel sleeping with her clothes and make-up on. He frowned.
"She dismissed us." Allison immediately reported, seeing Raymond’s frown.
"It’s alright. Get out." He said and they obeyed, closing the door behind them.
As soon as they left, Raymond found himself wondering why he asked them to leave when he needed them to help take her clothes off.
"Hah!" He exclaimed. He couldn’t call them back now that he sent them away. Did that mean he would have to do it himself?
He advanced his steps towards her bed and with a closer look at the sleeping Ariel, felt his heart warm up again.
"It’s happening again. When will Steve give me the results?" He asked, pressing his hand against his chest.
He first took off the skin coloured hose she was wearing. Her shoes had already found their roots the moment she entered the room.
After taking off Ariel’s hose and not feeling anything about it, he went for her dress. The red knee length dress he had personally picked out for her suited her perfectly, like it was made just for her and he did not regret his choice.
He wanted to see her looking her best at all times. He wanted to be the one to make her the best.
He proceeded to unzip the zip at the back of her dress and this required having her turn around but instead of doing that, he let her rest on his body.
While carefully taking off her dress, he noticed a little scar on her shoulder. It was faint and looked more like a birthmark than a scar.
"They seemed to miss this spot." He said, unconsciously leaning his face closer till his lips touched her skin.
"Hm." Ariel subconsciously moaned through her sleep and that brought Raymond’s mind back. He quickly separated his lips from her skin and looked away, stunned at his actions and wondering why he did that. It was abnormal.
"I shouldn’t have sent the maids away." He muttered, his heart feeling strange again. "Is this some kind of side effect? I hope it’s not a rare disease."
Then all of a sudden, Ariel opened her eyes. She stared into Raymonds deep brown eyes and for the first time, she felt there was more to it than the coldness it always had.
"Haha, this must be a dream." She concluded and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I really want to make you happy, Sir Raymond." She said and kissed his cheek, stunning him. "I wish I had the power to make you happy."
