I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 46: I’m free for the night
Steve came to a conclusion that Raymond was catching feelings for Ariel but he wasn’t a hundred percent certain about it. For all he knew, it could be something else.
All through Raymond’s life, he had never had anyone around other than the business relations. Well, he was his friend since forever but that was different from having someone so close by, worrying and caring on his behalf.
It could be that he, Steve, was mistaking Raymond’s sympathy for affection. And thus, he did not want to bring out a wrong analysis.
"You’re right, we should conduct an entire body scan on you." Steve said. "Just hearing from you won’t tell me the exact problem."
Raymond nodded to this, unaware that Steve was using a body scan as an excuse to consider that he was sick and hide the fact that he was catching feelings for Ariel.
’I am not in the wrong here.’ Steve thought with a bit of guilt eating at him. ’Raymond has never loved a single person in his life so I don’t know what he’ll do to me if I give him a wrong analysis and things go wrong. And according to his character, he might not even believe my words.’
He watched as Raymond adjusted his coat and wondered. What would Raymond be like if he finally found love in his life? If he eventually fell in love, would he be kinder? Would he be gentle? Less cruel?
No, maybe to the girl he falls for but for every other person, it would definitely remain the same.
’Ah, I’m starting to wonder if Miss Ariel has seen the real side of him.’ He thought and suddenly remembered something. "Raymond, you said, Miss Ariel cried, why did she cry?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Unpleasant memories." He simply said and said no more as he made his way to sit. "When do I get the results?"
"It’s not certain yet. I’ll give you a call once I’ve figured it out." Steve answered and Raymond took that as his cue to leave.
Steve watched his back and still wondered, Raymond Stein in love. Things would really get heated if that happened.
"Now, what illness can I fabricate for his condition?" Steve wondered, already regretting not telling his analysis even if it wasn’t a hundred percent accurate.
Raymond returned home before dinner, just as he said and ate with Ariel.
The weekend was nice and peaceful. Well, excluding the news that was raging wildly on the internet. Except that, it was okay.
That monday, Ariel went back to her schemes of seducing Marco. Of course, the fool didn’t mind the news about Ariel. All he could think of was how to make her fall completely head over heels for him and get him to a higher position in the office.
"Ah, I can’t seem to look away from you." Marco suddenly said while they were having dinner and she looked up. "You’re so beautiful."
Ariel put up a fake smile like she was touched with his words but really, she felt pissed off. This was the same man who kept telling her she was the ugliest girl on the planet and all that she had worth seeing was her body. And even her body, the only thing she was proud of, he made sure to make it look messed up so that no one else would take interest in it.
But even with those hideous scars, her body was still extremely desirable. If not, he wouldn’t keep her for so long.
She clenched her cutleries tightly, trying to keep up the touched smile.
’Is he really that blind?’ Ariel thought. ’I used a bit of makeup but there’s no way he can’t see any resemblance between me and my old self. Or is it that his mind fails to recognize me because he’s convinced that I am dead?’
She was fed up and her knife fell from her hand.
"I’ll get it." Marco offered and bent down to look for it.
Ariel finally got the opportunity to stop smiling and rolled her eyes.
"It’s okay. I won’t be using it anymore anyway. The waiters will pick it up." She said, unknowing to her that Marco was busy feasting his eyes with her long legs.
Then, she felt his hand on her leg and she flinched.
"There seemed to be a flower petal on your leg." He lied and she almost scoffed. Did he think she was dumb? He clearly wanted to touch her leg and feel her up.
This suddenly gave her an idea.
"You know," she touched his leg with the tip of her heels, trailing up to his knees and smiling meaningfully. "... We never got to go to that hotel." She bit down on her lip seductively, giving meaning to her words and action and Marco took the bait.
"I’m free for the rest of the night." He said.
"Really?" She took back her leg. "Are you sure you won’t need to stay with your wife at night? You are newlyweds, you know?" She winked, tempting him more and he fell.
"She won’t mind." He said. "I’ll just tell her I’m working overtime."
"Fine then."
Marco called Clara right at that moment and told her he would be working late. She had no problem with it and in turn, reported that she would be out with her friends.
Glad that Clara did not make a fuss, Marco looked up and nodded his head, stating that he could spend the night with her.
This time, Ariel did not bother to buy out the entire restaurant and it was a different restaurant from the last one. They dined at the top floor which was reserved for VIP members only.
"Then, shall we?" She got up and Marco adjusted his tie, feeling a bit hot. He quickly got up after her and they both started heading down.
Inside the elevator, Marco tried to make a move on her. He stepped closer and leaned in, trying to kiss her but she stopped him, smiling nicely and said,
"We can’t do that here. What if we get lost in it and someone sees us? Do you want us to be on the news tomorrow?" She asked and he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
"You’re right." He said and her eyes scowled away from him.
’Fool.’ She insulted him and the elevator doors opened.
They both walked out a little distance away from each other but anyone with a brain would know that they were together.
Then, just at the entrance of the restaurant, Clara, in the company of her friends, bumped into these two, who were just about to safely make their way out through the exit.
"Oh my." One of her friends exclaimed and looked over at Clara who’s head was already popping out an irk.
"Tell me this is a joke." Clara’s contorted expression showed her ugly side all too well and Ariel smirked, finding it amusing.
