I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 255: You know they’re not related, right?
A plate was once again smashed on this lady’s face and she fell to the ground, shocked as to why that suddenly happened and with trembling eyes, looked up at Raymond who took a step closer to her with deadly eyes.
"You seem to have gotten it wrong." Raymond said, his eyes cold and dangerous. "You see, my kid and I have the same personality and one thing we have in common is that we absolutely hate it when someone talks bad about her mother." He said, picking up another plate and smashed it on her. "And from what I just did, it’s clear who taught my kid such barbaric acts, isn’t it? So, what do you plan to do to me?"
His gaze was heavy and so was Rachael. They both flared down at the lady and she trembled. It was as if she was being stared down by dangerous predators. One was a snake and the other was a lion.
What... What had she done?
"Who’s the one that looks like filth now?" Rachael asked the lady who was trembling with the feeling that her life was over. "You can’t afford to mess with me. And this wound..." She showed her bleeding hand. "Even till your grave, you will never be able to pay back for it, got that? So hurry up and dig your grave already."
The entire hall was silent and Alexa felt her heart, which was racing, was loud enough to be heard by everyone. She clutched it. She was never one to support violence no matter the reason but seeing both of them act in that manner because of her, she felt so touched that she didn’t know what to do anymore.
She was so shocked. And then there was the fact that her daughter had bad anger issues, as well as knew how to be very rude. These were sides that she never knew Rachael had. Did she learn them from Raymond? That was plausible. They were always together so maybe she picked up one or two things from him.
She touched her head. This matter was already out of hand so she didn’t really know how to react or how to intervene. But was there a need? They were already handling it just fine but... Why did this scene look familiar?
She saw flashes of a party, a wine fountain crashing on a couple and then, standing at the offensive side was... Her?
She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Jane.
"Are you okay?" She asked and Alexa nodded.
"Yeah, I... I’m fine."
"It’s bewildering, isn’t it?" Jane said and she nodded. "You can take the child out of the man but you can’t take the man out of the child." She laughed and then stopped. "That didn’t make sense, did it?"
Alexa shook her head and Jane laughed.
"Well, I’ll go with this. Like father, like daughter. They are a replica of each other."
Alexa paused and looked at Raymond with Rachael. Then she looked up at Jane and said,
"You know they’re not related, right?"
Jane went silent for a while and then smiled.
"If you say so." It was clear she did not believe her but why did she not believe her? How come?
"How can you do this to my wife and kids?" The husband of the woman on the floor marches forward. "Is this how you treat guests?"
"I don’t appreciate guests who defame the mother of my kid as well as my kid." Raymond said. "Like your wife said, respect others if you want to be respected. I have you the ’respect’ you deserve."
"You can’t do this. This is wrong. How can you do this to them and expect us to leave like this?"
Rachael clutched on to her father’s coat, squinting her eyes. So that was what he wanted to say. She looked up at her father who was equally squinting. It seemed he had caught on to it as well.
"If it’s the compensation you want, that’s what you’ll get." Raymond said and his assistant stepped forward. "Compensate them accordingly and make sure to blacklist them. I don’t want to see them in anything, any party, engagement, banquet or corporation that has to do with Ultio and my family. Get them out of here."
That was how that family lost all connections and opportunities to be afflicted with Ultio and Raymond Stein.
This just solidified the threats he made earlier.
And all because they dared to defame his daughter and the lady on the wheelchair. Who was the lady on the wheelchair anyway?
This brought about talks with a lot of people speculating if that lady on the wheelchair was the little girl’s mother. They remembered she said her mother naut got out of the hospital so it was reasonable.
"Wait, I feel like I’ve seen this lady somewhere." Someone said and they started trying to recall where they saw this lady. Then, someone snapped his hand and said,
"Isn’t this Mrs Stein? Ariel Albert who died after the wedding?"
"What are you talking about? She died, remember?"
"I can’t be wrong. I attended the wedding so I’m sure. That’s her."
"That makes no sense. Everyone knows she died so why can she be here and with Raymond Stein’s daughter?"
"Remember she was pregnant? This little girl must really be Raymond Stein’s daughter but how come they’re still alive. Is there a conspiracy that we don’t know about?"
Rachael clutched on her father’s coat and whispered to Raymond,
"Daddy, they’re talking too much. Mummy will feel uncomfortable." She said and Raymond looked at Alexa but luckily, she wasn’t even listening to the talks around her. Maybe she was hearing but she didn’t look bothered at all as her attention was someone else.
Jane, sensing the atmosphere was changing, rolled Alexa to their table and started chattering on and on about how she would do great if she were a superhero.
"Don’t you think I’d look great in a cape? If I were a superhero, instead of being carried out the window of the hospital, I would’ve simply flown out and let that bastard eat my dust. Muahahaha." She ranted and Alexa laughed.
"If that was the case, you would’ve caught every single debris of the hospital while it was collapsing and thrown them out of space. You’ll be considered a national hero." Alexa added and Jane’s eyes twinkled.
"Wow, what a wonderful idea. You’re a genius." Jane patted her back. "Don’t worry, once I become a superhero, I’ll give you half of my powers. We’ll save the world together."
Romeo, who found this conversation of adults weird, leaned in to whisper to his father.
"Daddy, I think they’re getting weird and I find this conversation disturbing."
Steve shook his head and said,
"Just go with it son. What do you do when you try to keep out disturbing words?"
"You try to overshadow it with more disturbing words?" He asked and Steve patted his head with a smile on his face.
"Something like that."
It wasn’t that Alexa didn’t hear what everyone was whispering or what their speculations were all about, she just chose to ignore it. Deep down, though, she wondered about their words and wondered if there was indeed a connection to Ariel’s death, her missing memories and Rachael’s birth.
It matched up but she did not want to have expectations only to be disappointed later.
