Chapter 219: The event hall

The venue was glamorous and glowing with wealth. Most people arrived early just so they could seem honest, sincere and grateful for the invitation they got.

After all, not everyone was invited to the most amazing event of the year.

"I hope he sees my good qualities. Maybe he will agree to invest in my business." Some businessmen wondered while the ladies wondered,

"Do you think I’ll be able to get Mr Raymond’s attention?"

It was clear where their interest laid.

"He’s so handsome. It’s too much to let that perfection die with some dead girls passing. I mean, I am sure he will see that I am much better than any girl."

"You? You wish!"

The ladies started squirming and engaging in the war of the tongue.

The only reason those ladies were even able to attend such an important and glamorous event was because their family gave them the opportunity.

Who wouldn’t want to be connected with ’the’ Raymond Stein? And what better way to do it than marriage?

These ladies were hoping they would get their chance with him and thus, put on the most exquisite dress they could get their hands on.

The color caramel truly suited the ladies so well and they were sure to flaunt their flawless skin, beautiful face and nice shape.

But there was one little piece of information that they missed. Though Raymond fell for a girl who had a beautiful face and nice body shape, he never took priority to all that when liking her, especially not her skin.

Ariel was a girl with many scars and that was a bit of information that most of them did not know of.

The big doors of the event hall were wide open so anyone would in the outer hall could see, if they were standing next to the entrance, the cars that pulled up in front of the red carpet and most ladies were standing a short distance from the door, in hopes that they would catch a glimpse of Raymond as he alighted his car.

The inner hall, where the main event was going to take place, was barely occupied as most people were waiting for Raymond Stein’s arrival.

"When do you think he’ll be here?" The girls whispered amongst themselves.

"It’s almost time for the event to start. I didn’t think the host would arrive late."

"Hm, who are we to judge?" One of them shrugged. "Anyway, this will be my first time seeing him up close. I heard he had the face of perfection."

"Ha, country bumpkins like you should know their place and step back." A very rude tone interrupted the ladies day dreaming and they turned to see a fair, and slim lady.

She had this confident grin on. Her black hair cascaded her shoulders like the gentle touch of water.

She was a very beautiful and attractive lady that the other ladies understood what she meant when she said they should know their place and step back.

But still, it didn’t explain her rudeness.

"Just because you’re somebody doesn’t mean you can treat everyone else like they were trash." One of them, a lady with brown French curves said and simply walked on.

She was only standing there and listening to the ladies chatter because it was not harmful but she was not going to stand and be insulted.

"And why shouldn’t I treat trash like trash?" The black haired lady asked but this lady refused to stop walking and left.

She knew better than anyone not to start a commotion at an event like this.

Everyone would give it a name. They would call ’them’ in general, ’attention seeking bimbos’. They could also point it back to their upbringing and call them lowlives for starting a fight at such an event.

Silence was the best answer to a fool.

She didn’t come to this event to become a disgrace but rather, make connections that would benefit her family. Any connection would do.

"Hmph!" The black haired lady folded her arms and looked at the rest of the ladies who stood defenseless.

"Um, we’re going to go over there." One of the ladies pointed at the far corner, far from the door’s view.

"Glad you know your place." She smirked and turned to the door like she was the hostess.

She wanted to be the first thing that would attract Raymond Stein as soon as he came down from his car and walked into the hall.

She was confident that once he saw her, even if it was just a glance, he would fall head over heels for her.

All the important figures were currently inside the hall so it was questionable what was keeping Raymond Stein so long. Even his allies, Paige Winston and her husband were not yet at the venue.

This caused murmurs and people wondered what the delay was about.

"Hey, have you heard the news about Raymond Stein having a daughter?"

Yet again, another round of murmuring crept up in the other and inner hall that had only a quarter of it occupied.

Everyone was curious to know who this little girl was and if she was indeed his daughter. Even the old men were curious and they wondered if they would have to bitter up to this little girl in order to gain favor in Raymond’s sight.

They were already doing so much for the young master, Romeo because he was connected to Raymond but if he indeed had a daughter then they would have to try harder in their attempts.

Then, a car arrived. It was a silver Ferrari and it looked like whoever was in it was someone above all levels.

"Could that be him?"

They wondered as the chauffeur got down from the car and went to open the door.

Everyone strained their eyes in anticipation to see who it was and finally, the door opened.

A step out of the car revealed a pair of golden shoes. They looked extremely priceless, like real gold had been sprinkled all over them.

And with the second leg coming out, the lady in the car got down and revealed herself with a grin spread across her red tainted lips.

"What’s this?" She took off her shades.

The shutters of cameras filled the air as she made her appearance. Each one was trying to get a picture of her and be the first one to upload this ’huge’ scope.

"It would seem the host is yet to arrive, seeing so many people standing by the door." She commented and took a step. "Dear brother, what game are you playing?"

This lady was none other than Serena.
