I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 220: Let’s wait a little longer

The news that Serena Stein was back and no longer in hiding spread everywhere within seconds.

Some questioned if she was really in hiding or if she simply decided to stay neutral the whole time her family was being destroyed.

But on a more important note, why was she at the anniversary event? There was an invitation in her hand and she was respectfully ushered in so it was only clear that she was invited.

The question was, why?

Serena sat in the inner hall with her legs crossed. The air had stiffened because of her presence. She was always authoritative, dictating the lives of others and even now, while she held no power whatsoever, they couldn’t dare defy her because of the air around her.

That hair of confidence, arrogance, hostility and power. She was very scary with her beautiful face and nicely trimmed brown hair.

"What are you planning?" She muttered while thinking of what Raymond’s motive could be.

She had not gotten a word from Henry in the past few days and she had this feeling that Raymond had gotten to him but seeing Raymond didn’t act on it, she couldn’t be too sure.

Or maybe he was caught but refused to reveal anything, hence Raymond could not take action.

In any case, he was acting out more than she imagined.

He was supposed to remain docile and suffer with the idea of Ariel’s look alike being next to him but none of that was talking through.

Maybe he had already discovered her identity. Maybe her being there was a trap so he could trap her.

Well... she closed her eyes... it wasn’t like she didn’t think of all these possibilities when she got the invitation.

She had already prepared for it, actually. Since she didn’t have a spy on Raymond’s side, she would just have to act on the little she was aware of and that little confirmed that there was an extra dress given to Raymond.

It couldn’t have belonged to Paige because she was a woman of her own standing. She would get all that herself and not rely on Raymond.

This meant that the dress would probably be worn by Alexa. Alexa would come with Raymond to the event and once she did, she would get her back.

She smirked. Things would have to go her way this time. With her connection, she was able to sneak her people into the event.

"You won’t be able to slip away from me, Alexa." She chuckled.

Five minutes later, a car belonging to the Stein family finally arrived. Everyone was getting ready to receive Raymond Stein and once he came down, they swooned.

His handsomeness could be compared to a piece of art. He was art himself. A walking piece of art. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

The shutters did not stop for even half a second and they took every pic of him from every side and every angle, making sure to capture every detail.

He adjusted his suit firmly and looked at the ends, where his car drove in from and then checked his watch. It was about time.

"Uncle." Romeo called as he got down from the car. "It seems Rachael’s car is taking a bit long." He said and once he was down, the cameras were focused on him as well but he didn’t seem to be bothered as he was already used to this sort of thing.

In a way, he was the only ’relative’ Raymond had and that was why he had all that special treatment.

"Let’s wait a little longer." Raymond said Romeo also fixed his gaze to the car entrance. ’Rachael doesn’t seem like one to be scared of shutters but given this amount, I fear that she will get scared.’

They had to use different cars because Jane could not join them in the same car, stating it would bring some sort of misunderstanding with her fiance and the media so she took another car.

Rachael didn’t feel good leaving her to take the car ride alone since she didn’t know anyone so she got in the car with her while Romeo went with Raymond.

Unfortunately, along the way, their car’s tire got a critical hit from a box of nails that suddenly fell off a truck.

It was an unpredictable accident but luckily, no one got hurt. Raymond wanted to turn around to them but Steve called and said he was close to them so he could go ahead while he picked them up.

Raymond’s phone rang and he picked it up. There were already speculations as to who Raymond Stein was waiting for. Whoever it was, they must be important but no one could pinpoint who it was.

"We’re almost there so you can go in first." Steve said over the phone and he nodded.

He put away his phone and just then, another car drove in. It was Paige and Maxwell. Following them was another car which Skylar came down from, as well as his fiancee, Beatrice.

She was a rather petite girl. Not one with a sophisticated appearance but rather, cute, nice and friendly.

"Were you waiting for us?" Paige asked but he shook his head.

She saw that Rachael wasn’t with him and frowned.

"What happened?"

"They’re on their way. She’s with Steve." He said and held Romeo’s hand before making his way along the red carpet.

Paige was a bit surprised that Raymond let Steve handle Rachael but she couldn’t quite define what was going on so she didn’t ask and simply walked over the red carpet with her company.

As they walked in, everyone tried their utmost best to get their attention. The black haired lady, made sure to flaunt her body in front but Raymond, like a blind man, walked past her.

Paige and Maxwell gave her repulsed looks, knowing what she was trying to do. Maxwell’s was very bad as it looked like he would put on an entire armor in order to get rid of such a disgusting thing.

Skylar and Beatrice simply walked past her leaving her shamed.

The ladies she had shamed, made sure to openly snickered at her humiliation and followed the big shots into the inner hall.

As soon as they walked in, Paige caught sight of Serena and almost lost her shit but Maxwell held her back and said,

"Now is not the time, wifey. Everything must follow its course of action."

She gave out a sigh to relieve herself and touched his face.

"Thank you." They made their way to sit at a different row, far from Serena but Raymond went to sit right next to her.

Taking his seat next to her, he said,

"Long time."

"No see." She completed and his eyes glowed hatred as he stared at her. He badly wanted to rip her skin by skin.
