I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 176: Just stay there
After Rachael left with Romeo, Alexa gave out a sigh of relief but suddenly, she started coughing out of nowhere. It calmed down and she felt everything was okay but then she coughed a bit more.
The cough was so dry that Raymond gave her a can of water.
"Drink some." He said and she accepted it.
"Thank you." Drinking a bit from the can, she gave out a sigh of relief. But suddenly, her eyes widened as the cough got stronger.
Raymond was confused and also worried. What was with this strange cough all of a sudden?
"Call Steve." He said to the maids at the side. Thank goodness he was still in the villa.
He tried to calm Alexa down by patting her back but that wasn’t doing much and before they knew it, she threw up. And it wasn’t just a regular vomit, it was blood.
The blood went through her hands and poured all over the floor beneath her. It didn’t stop there and she threw up again. The quantity of the blood was so much that Raymond’s face froze in fear.
"Ah." Alexa exclaimed and her eyes rolled back.
Luckily, Raymond caught her before she fainted.
He carried her up, staining himself with the blood stained on her body.
"Where’s Steve?" He yelled, carrying her frantically towards the rooms. "Steve." He yelled.
"What’s going on?" Romeo asked, seeing everywhere suddenly turn chaotic.
Rachael looked back only to see Raymond carrying a bloody and unconscious Alexa.
The ice cream in her hands fell as she stared in fright.
"Mummy?" Rachael called and Raymond looked over at her. The fear in that child’s eyes sunk into his soul and he knew he couldn’t let her see her mother. Not like this.
"Stay right there, Rachael," he said.
"What... What happened to mummy?"
"Just stay there. You don’t want to scare her with that look on your face, do you?" He asked her, pursing his lips. He felt impatient. He wanted to take Alexa to the rooms right away but he didn’t want to leave Rachael with this sort of fear.
Her shaking eyeballs spoke of how frightened she was. He didn’t like that.
"Don’t worry, I’m just taking your mummy to rest. Don’t come over, okay? Just stay there. She’ll be okay." He assured even when he wasn’t sure if she was okay. This was so hard for him. "Play with Romeo, okay? You two can play while your mummy rests, okay?"
Rachael’s hands shook. She wasn’t a fool. She wasn’t a dummy to not know that the red thing on their body was blood. She wasn’t that naive.
Tears found their way to her eyes and she gulped down.
"Okay." She said,
Though she knew there was something wrong with her mummy, and she was frightened looking at Raymond’s expression, she knew she would only make things hard if she threw a worthless tantrum of wanting to be with her mummy.
All she could do now was wait it out till he told her it was okay.
"Romeo." She called, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Let’s... Let’s go and play. Let go and..." she sniffed and cleaned the tears from her cheek, faking a smile right at that moment. "...with words. Let’s go and play words."
Romeo, who was already having tears in his eyes, looked at her with a worried expression. He didn’t know what she was talking about but he decided to just follow her lead.
"We’ll go now, uncle." He said and held her hand, leading her away from there.
Raymond was glad Rachael did not throw a fuss and took Alexa into the room. He placed her down and waited for Steve while gripping her hand tightly.
He was worried. No, more clearly, he was scared. He had already lost her once, how would he allow himself to lose her again and right in front of his eyes... again.
This was too much. This was too much to bear. He couldn’t handle it.
"Please!" He pleaded while squeezing her hand to his forehead. "Please, don’t leave again."
Steve barged in after hearing the whole thing from the maids. He immediately went to Alexa but seeing the blood all over them, he grew scared. This was more serious than he imagined.
"What’s wrong with her?" Raymond asked. "She... she was okay a few minutes ago. At most I know she gets headaches but this... isn’t this too serious?"
Steve could see the desperation in Raymond’s face. He looked like he would die if anything were to happen to Alexa.
He just found out she was Ariel so if anything were to happen to her, that would as well be the end of Raymond Stein.
He pursed his lips. What was he supposed to say to someone like him who definitely wouldn’t calm down with words?
"I’ll check her pulse first." He said and used his stethoscope to check her heart beat. It was low. Really low. This was bad.
"What is it?" Raymond asked, seeing his furrowed eyebrows but Steve did not answer but went ahead to press his fingers on her neck.
With his experience all over the years, he could tell that the reason for this outburst of blood was her blood vessels having holes. They were the vessels nearest to her lungs.
But... Why would her blood vessels be leaking?
Suddenly, blood started rolling down from her nostrils, shocking them both.
"This isn’t good." Steve said.
At this rate, she would lose too much blood and in the worst case scenario, die from it.
"What’s going on now? Why is she still bleeding?"
"First, we need to take her back to the facility." He said, took out a few cottoned wool and blocked her nostrils with them. "Carry her."
Raymond wasted no time to carry her up and went to the car.
"Start the car!" He yelled and the driver immediately went to the driver’s seat.
Steve got in and Raymond put her inside. He closed the door.
"You’re not coming?" Steve asked, surprised that wh would leave Alexa alone even at a time like this.
"I’ll come with the kids." He said. "You, I trust you. Please, try everything in your power to keep her safe."
