I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 130: Teaching is fun
Raymond was silent. He didn’t think of that. Maybe Paige was right. His thinking in such aspects weren’t as sharp as his business prowess.
"I’ll think about it." He said.
"What’s there to think about? Seriously, you’re really stubborn. Just agree to it already." She said and turned her back, leaving his office.
Raymond watched the door for a while and sighed.
Paige. To say she was being a simple caretaker was an understatement. Anyone who didn’t know their relationship would immediately conclude that she was his elder sister. Though she was just a year older than him, she treated him like a kid.
Why wouldn’t she? He didn’t know how to take care of himself.
Ever since Ariel died, she stuck to Raymond because she saw him as pitiful. He was her brother-in-law, that fact didn’t change so seeing him melt away because of Ariel’s death, she knew that if she let him be, he’d certainly drift into complete oblivion. She needed to look after him. For Ariel’s sake, at least. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
She, as well as Steve, were the ones scheduling all the numerous therapy sessions for him, hoping one day, he would get better but his mental health kept deteriorating. He slept less at night, worked his bones out during the day and drank his stomach full instead of eating properly.
It was hard for him, they could see it. And they could see how much effort he had been putting into getting better but none of it worked.
Thank God for the appearance of this psychologist. They were definitely going to stick her close to Raymond until he got completely better.
"What did you say?" Steve asked, getting up from his chair in shock. "He slept well?"
"Yes. You should see his face. He’s practically glowing and you know what? He smiled."
"That’s ... that’s good news." Steve said. "So, who is it? Can we get them over right away? It would be nice to have the therapy sessions as often as possible."
"That’s going to be a problem. She’s a public speaker in her country, very famous for her therapy treatments and also a lecturer. I don’t think she’ll want to throw away her life just to treat ’Raymond Stein’." She concluded and Steve went silent.
"Then, does he have to fly over there frequently?"
"That’s not going to work either." Paige said and sighed. "You know he’s stubborn. He won’t leave his work load and travel across the country more than twice a week if it’s not for work."
Once again, Steve went silent.
"So I suggested bringing her here for the weekends only. She’ll be here Friday night and return Sunday night. How’s that?" She suggested and Steve nodded.
"That could work."
Alexa decided to give Stacy one more chance. She was going to the school she worked at and Rachael always gets carried away if left in her office so she decides to leave her at home.
After giving Stacy the same warning she gave her the previous day and assured her that she would never get called again to babysit if such a thing repeated itself, she went on her way.
Alexa was a lecturer on public speaking. She taught her students the dos and don’t of a public speaker. What not to eat before getting in front of a crowd to make a speech and how to dress for each occasion.
It was an interesting course and everyone she taught was able to pass well. Maybe it was because she practicalized the teachings more on herself while teaching but the words engraved in their mind and they gave her back those exact same words in the exam.
’Teaching is fun.’ She thought to herself as she gathered her stuff, ready to end the class. She looked up and met eyes with the students who swooned over her. "Okay, that’s enough looking." She said and they laughed. "Let’s not forget, next week is the deadline for your assignments. I would assume all groups have their speech topic thoroughly researched and ready to go?"
"Yes, ma’am." They were all so enthusiastic with their response and she smiled. "That’s good. Now, see you all next week." She said and made her way out of the class but as soon as she opened the door, a bouquet of white roses was immediately brought to her face.
"Oh." She exclaimed and looked past the bouquet to see a male student on one knee and a flustered face.
He looked like he dolled up enough just to hand over this bouquet. He even wore a bow tie and she almost laughed.
There were students in the hallway watching this scene and the students behind her were trying to peek at what was going on.
"Miss Alexa." The boy on his knees called, a bit shyly at that, "Yesterday was white day but you weren’t in school so today, I... "
"Hey, what do you think you’re doing in the hallway?" A group of boys charged at him. "What makes you think Miss Alexa will accept your flowers?"
"I..." these words brought down the student’s barely gotten courage and he started to falter. "I..."
Alexa saw this and shook her head lightly. This could make him feel awkward.
To everyone’s surprise, she took the bouquet from him and smiled.
"Thank you, it’s pretty." She said and sniffed it. "It smells nice too. Very considerate of you."
The boy blushed and so did the students who stood around. She looked so pretty. She was breathtaking.
A lot of them wanted to give her gifts like this but they were scared of getting rejected but seeing that she happily received the bouquet, they thought it was her giving them the go ahead.
"But..." Alexa’s voice cut down their fantasies. "... I do not appreciate you disturbing the peace and conduct of the school so refrain from doing this in the future, okay?" She smiled while making this request to avoid making him embarrassed and he nodded.
"Yes ma’am. Thank you for accepting my flower." He got up to his feet and skipped away. Alexa giggled and made her way out of there.
’I am sure I’ve made myself clear.’ she thought to herself, stringing through the halls with nothing but her heels heard. The students stared in silence till she made her way to her office.
She put the bouquet in the vase in her office and sat down, giving out a heavy sigh of relief. There were no more classes for the day, no appointments at the hospital either. She could as well leave early and take Rachael out to eat some desserts and have fun.
It had been a while since they both had a nice mother and daughter bonding session.
"I’ll go home early." She told herself but just as she was arranging her things, there came a knock from her door. "Come in."
The door opened and Javen walked in.
"Hey, are you leaving yet?" He asked with a friendly smile and she smiled back.
"Yeah. I’m taking Rachael out so I need to leave right away."
