I Am An Illegitimate Child With A Legitimate Reason For Revenge-Chapter 123: Wow, you’re really pretty in real life
"Can’t you just hire a babysitter?" Jane advised and Alexa looked up. That was actually a good idea but she wasn’t so sure about the idea. She loved her daughter too much to hand her over to a complete stranger.
Of course, Rachael would be able to notice if her babysitter was acting strange or not. Yet, she couldn’t help but worry since even with all that smartness, she was still a child.
"Come on, don’t think too much about it. You can just look for a babysitter with a reputable reputation to look over Rachael for one day. It’s one day, right?" Alexa nodded. "Then what are you hesitating for? Turn to the internet right this moment."
Alexa felt uneasy with the idea of hiring someone off the internet and asked,
"Don’t you have anyone you can recommend for me?"
"I don’t have kids, why would I... ?" She paused, having remembered something. "There’s this lady who my aunt hired to babysit my baby cousin a few times. I think she’s trustworthy enough."
"Alright. Please give me her contact."
"I’ll have to get it from my aunt first."
Jane got the number and sent it to Alexa. Alexa made sure to contact the lady that night but unfortunately, the lady had other plans so she recommended somebody else. That person, however, was free so they talked about time and price and sealed the job.
Meanwhile, Raymond walked out of the airport with his company of guards in tow. He stopped and looked up into the dark sky. His void and black eyes resonated to the darkness of the sky and he sighed.
’Let’s just get this over with.’ He thought.
Raymond, still struck with his nightmares and despair, had visited several psychologists to help him out with therapy but none worked out. Even a world class psychologist like Paige couldn’t help him so it was understandable that he couldn’t get better with another person’s help.
Recently, Alexa’s expertise had reached her ear and even though she hadn’t met this Alexa in person, she hoped she would be able to save him and thus, she recommended Raymond to go to Germany and see this psychologist.
She also felt Alexa had a close resemblance to Ariel in face, she knew it wasn’t her because well... that was impossible. She kept this fact to herself, and sent Raymond on his way.
Raymond stayed at a hotel suite that night with his guards barricading the entire floor to avoid anyone suspicious from going in or coming out. The only ones allowed in were people from room service and their identity was confirmed from the management before letting them in.
It was kinda scary for those who didn’t understand but really... it was for their own good and the safety of their boss.
Raymond took his pills and poured himself a glass of whiskey. At the balcony, he gazed at the night sky and drank. The air was foreign like he was on a regular business trip but the purpose for being in this foreign land was to supposedly find himself a cure.
No one had been able to completely treat his insomnia and nightmares for the longest time now, and this made him wonder how confident Paige was for her to immediately send him on his way - just so he could get ’treated’.
He didn’t even know if the person treating him was a man or a woman and honestly, he didn’t care. All they needed was to say the first few sentences and he’d decide if he could be cured by their hands or not and then, he’d leave.
He sighed. Such was his life.
The next day, Alexa prepped her little one, gave her a phone to call her in case of any emergency and then lectured her on what to and what not to do once she suspected that the babysitter was a crook with hidden intentions.
"Alright, my cinnamon pie. I love you so behave, okay?" Alexa said to her, pressing her lips to her forehead and Rachael returned the kiss.
"Yes, mummy." She kissed her cheek and smiled. "Don’t worry, I’ll behave."
"That’s good."
Dingdong!
The doorbell rang and Alexa went to the screen to see who it was before opening the door. It was the face of the babysitter that had been sent to her the previous night.
She opened the door and welcomed her in.
"Welcome and thank you for coming." She said and the girl, looking like a 20 years old girl, looked at Alexa in amazement.
"Wow, you’re really pretty in real life." She said and Alexa smiled in return.
"I understand where you’re coming from." She said, "And thank you for the compliment. This is my daughter, Rachael."
Rachael gave a little cute curtsey and the girl marveled at the little one.
"Awn, she’s so cute. I... I’m , where are my manners? I’m Stacy." She finally introduced herself. A bit flustered but it was okay.
"So, Stacy, I’ll show you around the house and give you Rachael’s routine." She said and Stacy eagerly took notes as Alexa showed her around the house. There were rooms she wasn’t allowed in like Alexa’s study room and she definitely couldn’t touch the awards and trophies on the shelves.
This timid girl tried to pick up with Alexa’s pace but even Rachael knew it was going to be a disaster as she sighed at the sight.
"Alright, I’m running late so I’ll need to leave right now. If there’s something you don’t understand, ask Rachael and she’ll explain it to you." She gave Rachael her goodbye kiss before leaving.
Of all days to go late to work. She got in her car and drove steadily till she got to the hospital.
She walked hurriedly but not exactly disoriented till she got to her office. The door was opened and she pursed her lips. She was definitely late.
Opening the door, she immediately started out by apologizing to her patient who was already seated.
"I’m so sorry. I lost track of time and kept you waiting. It’s completely unethical and I truly apologize. I... " her words were immediately interrupted as she felt the presence of the man who had been sitting down, behind her.
He suddenly dropped his hands on her shoulders and she flinched. What was he doing? Then, he asked a seemingly odd question.
"Is this real?" He asked. "But it doesn’t feel like a hallucination."
"Would you mind going back to your seat?" She asked, standing still in place.
"You feel like her, and sound like her. You even look like her but... you don’t smell like her." He said and Alexa turned around, only to see the deep cold eyes of a man who was deep in despair and filled with emptiness. "You are not my Ariel."
Alexa knew how to understand her patients well and could understand their inner struggles after getting to know them but this man... as soon as her eyes met with his, it was as if her heart was screaming in her ear, telling her very clearly that he was suffering from a bitter separation and a damaged heart.
"You..."
