Chapter 116: This is a bother

The feeling of a gun being pointed directly on his head made Marco dread. He was scared and wondered when Ariel got this strong. Did she even know how to pull a trigger?

Well, knowing or not, there was no way she would miss with the gun touching his skull. He was screwed.

"You know what?" Ariel began and sweat rolled down his chin down to the ground. His dilated pupils shook like someone who’s head would fall any moment.

This chance he got... It looked like it was useless.

"I should probably return the favor. You know, I was indeed able to get this far thanks to you stabbing me so why don’t I stick a bullet in you and then you can meet your own savior." Ariel stated. "After that, I’ll be waiting for you to get your revenge on me." she smiled.

"Y-you can’t." Marco stuttered. "Y-you can’t d-do that t-to me."

"How come? You did the exact same thing to me just that yours was far more brutal. So why can’t I do it to you too?"

Her cold eyes bore into him and she closed them, breathing out to calm her nerves. This was supposed to be a happy day yet here was this ominous person coming to ruin it all.

"This is a bother. I don’t want my baby seeing anything bad." She muttered but Marco caught it.

"Baby? What baby?" He asked, daring to look up and Ariel sneered at him.

"What? Did you think your cheap tricks to make me completely infertile would work? I’m actually thankful that it did at that moment when I was wasting my life with you, else, God knows what would’ve become of the child." She grabbed his hair. "I will have my baby and I will be happy. And guess what? There’s nothing you can do about it." She let go and turned around. "Get him out of here and back to the prison he belongs to. Let him rot for the rest of his life." She ordered and they nodded.

One of them took Marco away while the other stayed but for the time being, Ariel wanted to be alone.

"Go with him. I don’t want to take chances with that guy. He mustn’t escape no matter what." She ordered and he left, not before calling Raymond and telling him the situation on ground.

Ariel was left alone and she sighed. She looked at the gun in her hand and decided to keep it back in the strap round her thigh.

But just then, someone ran towards her at full speed and pushed her but it seemed like he wasn’t able to avoid what was coming and he got shot in the back.

The loud bang from a gun rang and Raymond, who was still on the call with the guard taking Marco away, looked up. A bad feeling immediately gripped him.

"Go back." He said. "Go back to my wife right now."

Ariel grunted and looked up to see the person lying on top of her to be White.

"White?" Her hand was wet with something warm and she looked at it to see it was blood. His blood. "White. Are you alright? Talk to me."

"Get... away from here." He muttered and hissed. "He’s coming. Get away."

"What? Who’s coming?"

"I can’t believe I missed." A familiar voice said as he made his way out of the shadows and into the light, drawing closer to the two who were on the floor. "But no matter." He showed his face and grinned. "I still have more bullets."

Goosebumps crawled all over Ariel’s body as she saw the face. That grin... That proud and repulsive grin... It was Leo. What was he doing here? She looked at the side, her gun was a short distance away from her but she wouldn’t be able to pick it up.

"What? Do you plan to pick up the gun? I bet my gun will be much faster than your movement. Wanna try?" He said. He looked extremely amused. In his eyes, the lives of people were nothing but mere toys to appease his boredom.

Leo got closer and White tried to stand but the bullet had gone really deep into his system. Every movement brought him pain.

"Stay away from her." He defended.

"What? Does the dog that bit its master plan to show loyalty? You’re pathetic." He said and kicked White hard in the gut, sending him flying.

"No." Ariel yelled and ran to him to check if he was alright. Of course he wasn’t alright. He was bleeding really badly and could die any moment.

"Look at you, all affectionate and caring." Leo chastised. "If you had shown me this little bit of affection, maybe I would have treated you with more leniency." He said but she glared at him.

"You’re a monster. You don’t deserve any form of affection. Not from me, not from any other woman." Ariel declared.

Angered, Leo raised his hand to hit her.

"Like this." She boldly said. "You will resort to violence any moment you feel the least bit ticked. How else should I describe you if not a monster?"

Ariel looked straight at him. She wasn’t going to back down, she wasn’t going to shriek. He could do whatever but he would never make her feel scared, not any more.

While he was being distracted, Ariel had already gotten her hands on her gun and she raised it at him, aiming directly for his head.

"Any last words?" She asked and his face contorted.

"You wouldn’t." He dared.

"Oh, I will." She said and suddenly pointed the gun at his leg, and pulled the trigger.

Leo screamed in agony.

"This is for Raymond’s hand." She dared to say and kicked him on the other leg, causing him to fall to the ground.

Just then, Raymond showed up with several guards and seeing it was him, she breathed out in relief. She was saved.

Raymond, looking worried and anxious, ran towards her and hugged her.

"Oh, thank God." He said and the guards took hold of Leo.

"I’m okay. But White isn’t." Ariel said and they looked down at White who had fallen unconscious. "He... he got shot while trying to save me."
