Chapter 401: Chapter 27: Submission

Inside the Dimension Space.

Duncan now seemed like a Demon God gazing down at the Annihilation Plane before him. In his palm, the Annihilation Plane resembled a delicate figurine. As his finger descended, it was as if a thin membrane was pierced, allowing the finger itself to barely enter within.

Inside the Annihilation Plane.

The finger descended from the heavens like a towering pillar!

Friction between the fingertip and the air even ignited flames.

Duncan’s soul body was unbelievably massive compared to the Annihilation Plane, with just one finger piercing through the plane’s barrier proving to be large enough to cover the sky.

All half-planes are wrapped in a barrier covering everything. After the barrier is pierced, energy from the void continuously pours in, directly disrupting the original elemental energy distribution. It’s fortunate that this place is a barren annihilation wasteland, otherwise, other living beings would suffer mass deaths.

Were this in the material world, the atmosphere would have been punctured.

"Celestial descent?!"

The Witch Demon Konggs was trembling slightly at this point; it recognized a certain power emanating from Duncan’s true form, and merely this outer display left the powerful lich bearing a six-star silver-gray mark completely stripped of the courage to resist.

Celestial descent is a kind of extraordinary divine power belonging to mighty deities, akin to the Eastern Law of Heaven and Earth, yet there are still many differences between the two.

Ordinary deities can hardly grasp celestial descent; it requires a powerful presence with at least medium divine power, possibly a Main God of a pantheon, to wield such a force.

The Witch Demon Konggs is quite powerful itself, bearing a six-star silver-gray mark unit, and in most worlds, a five-star mark is already legendary. Yet it is a high-tier legendary presence, even within Dungeons and Dragons, a level 25 and above millennia-old lich.

Yet even for such a powerful being, it had to hide and flee once the Mechanical Divine Sect suppressed reality and established the Earthly Divine Kingdom. In other universes, a slightly weaker demigod wouldn’t pose a threat to it.

Yet the stronger this lich was, the more its fear was in the face of Duncan.

This was a soul-deep terror!

If it wasn’t for its strong spellcasting abilities, allowing it to travel the Spirit Realm, it could never have entered the Annihilation Plane, let alone seen Duncan’s true form.

Rumble!

A giant finger struck the ground, creating a bottomless pit, the terrifying shockwave sending the projection of Konggs flying. Upon entering the Annihilation Plane, its size compared to Duncan’s true form was like a speck of dust; as a finger flipped, the frightened lich cautiously landed atop it.

An endless dark void.

Konggs now didn’t know where it was—whether at the deepest part of the Spirit Realm or some part of the chaotic void; looking upward, it saw the dark giant, planet-like in size, and itself as a small dust speck pinched at its fingertips.

This presence seemed a dark monarch in void, overseeing the infinite chaotic universe.

"Submit? Or perish?"

The voice of the Chaos Evil God, bound with the dark void, was a thunderous roar, each word and phrase infused with the power of Law Command True Words.

Konggs wouldn’t mistake it because only Law Command True Words could shake its soul.

A being like it, known in the West as a Death Monarch, and in the East a thousand-year-old demon of the magical path (those who wield the Ten Thousand Souls Banner), with the ability to shake its soul across worlds, even causing its Soul Box to tremble slightly, was sure to be a Main God-level presence with powerful divine power.

Such beings often command a pantheon!

Without hesitation.

Konggs immediately knelt, humbly bowing its head, signifying submission.

Inside the Dimension Space.

Duncan withdrew his soul projection. He had intended to attempt capturing the target into the Dimension Space, but seemingly failed to do so, since this lich remained a mere mortal, without dimensional upgrade. Even upon upgrading, it could only reside in the lowest layer of the Dimension Space.

Slowly, he retracted his hand, with an intent, placing the Annihilation Plane back to the bottom of the Dimension Space.

If this were part of his figurine collection, it’d be the most inferior, doomed to gather dust at the bottom; Duncan has yet to find something worthy to keep in higher dimensions.

Perhaps a True God’s Divine Country could be placed higher.

Projection page.

From an omniscient perspective, the Witch Demon Konggs, having returned to reality, knelt before the third human form, with extreme humility saying: "Your Majesty."

"If you require anything, always instruct your loyal servant, Konggs."

Now it dared not question anything.

Never again did any doubt linger in this lich’s mind, even faintly speculating such a powerful presence descending upon this world might have been summoned by the God of Machinery.

For it knew even the God of Machinery had fallen, with human form and divine format shattered into many fragments.

The third human form’s expression remained unchanged; Duncan refocused on the projection page, saying indifferently: "Rise."

"I have just arrived in this world."

"There are many questions I wish to ask you."

The Witch Demon Konggs fearfully rose, respectfully saying: "Your loyal servant dares not conceal anything."

Duncan pondered momentarily, looking down at the lich, asking: "Were you once human?"

Back in the dimensional level, he’d peered into its soul, feeling somewhat like human.

Konggs bowed its head: "I was once half-elf."

"A hybrid human and dark elf."

"My father was a heroic spirit from the Mythical Era, and later ventured into the Underworld and was captured by my mother."

"Dark elves favor strong bloodlines, hence I was born."

It indeed was a figure of the Mythical Era.

Normally, very few mortals can reach the power level of a six-star mark. A five-star legend is already the ceiling; in World One, one must become a heroic spirit after death to have a chance.

A half-elf?

The elves that the lich Konggs spoke of have many branches, but the more well-known ones are the light elves and the dark elves, and the elves here are more akin to the system of Nordic Mythology.

In the Mythical Era, those born in the shadows were dark elves. Light elves were fully radiant, shining brilliantly, and very beautiful. They were usually gentle, cheerful, and could communicate with trees, flowers, fish, and birds. Thus, the gods considered them friends of the divine.

Dark elves, on the other hand, had dark skin and silver-white hair, often viewed as symbols of evil.

"Could other pantheons have been here too?"

With slight surprise, Duncan looked down at the lich before him and slowly asked, "Where did the dwarf gods go? Were their real-world beliefs severed?"

He had once exiled divine spirits.

The Celtic pantheon’s Gwanu, severed from his real-world foundation by Duncan, was exiled back to the otherworld, the homeland of Danu’s children.

The lich Konggs recalled, "Yes, Your Majesty."

"It was probably the Second Era, at the end of the Mythical Era."

"Humankind rose, and a new era began."

"Dwarves and elves gradually vanished, and the human pantheon dominated the world. The surviving mythical races gradually left, and the faith in other gods slowly faded away."

The pantheons that didn’t vanish were mostly integrated into the human pantheon.

Duncan curiously asked, "Then why didn’t you leave?"

The lich showed a hint of bitterness, "They went to the realm of the gods, not the material world."

"I am a faithless lich."

"Nowhere to go."

"I can only stay in the real world."

When speaking of being faithless, it carefully observed Duncan’s expression, but Duncan’s face remained unchanged.

It’s not a big deal to dislike faith in divine spirits.

Duncan didn’t care about these things.

After the Mythical Era, the world entered the Mystical Era of the Third Era, roughly akin to the period from the Middle Ages to the Artistic Enlightenment, as mysticism was quite prevalent then.

Duncan roughly knew the subsequent historical evolution: the First Industrial Revolution emerged, and the human God of Craftsmanship became the first-generation God of Steam and Mechanics.

"So,"

"When the Mythical Era ended, was it the human pantheon that won?"

"But then they lost to the God of Machinery?"

At this point, Duncan had mostly figured out the historical context of this world. Having understood everything, he realized that the God of Machinery was truly ruthless, severing the real-world foundations of so many divine spirits.

Now Duncan had a clearer understanding of the real realm.

The so-called reality, actually, is the primary material world; every material world is the real realm, and beyond reality is the homeland of those dimension creatures.

What mortals call the divine country is really created out of thin air and does not belong to the material realm’s level.

If a comparison must be made, the divine country isn’t much different from subspace.

Duncan gazed at the lich before him and slowly said, "I intend to take you away from here; would you be willing?"

Having finally tamed a powerful henchman, he naturally wanted to find a way to take it with him.

Upon hearing Duncan’s words, the lich before him showed a trace of excitement, but soon it hesitated and slowly said, "Your Majesty."

"I fear I cannot follow you." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"If I enter the human world, the monks of the Mechanical Divine Sect can easily discover me."

"Especially the angels of the Insight Sect."

"They can perceive the supernatural existence; no matter what transformation magic I use, I will be detected by the Eye of Insight."

The Eye of Insight?

Last time, it seemed it did not detect anything unusual about Duncan either.

Duncan thought for a moment and slowly said, "Do you know of the Mechanical Divine Sect’s servo skulls?"

The lich Konggs had been asleep for too long.

It thought for a moment and shook its head, "No, is it a curiosity created in this era?"

Duncan responded, "The servo skull is one of the tools of the Mechanical Divine Sect."

"It’s a device made from a human skull, a servant, a drone, a technical assistant."

"The interior of the skull is equipped with a mechanical soul."

"It has an abundance of mechanical equipment and an anti-gravity engine, which is the anti-gravity rune, installed inside the skull."

"Only the shell is a human skull."

At this, Duncan couldn’t help but glance at the smooth and pale skull of Konggs, thinking it would feel good to hold and stroke it.
