Chapter 400: Chapter 27: Otherworldly Evil God—Duncan!

A faint trace of soul fluctuation emerged.

The expression of the ancient witch demon grew increasingly grave. It stared intently at Duncan before it, seemingly trying to probe his soul, yet it couldn’t see through it. It could only sense that something was off about Duncan’s soul. The witch demon spoke slowly: "The last time I awoke was one thousand two hundred and thirty-four years ago."

"I thought by delving deep into the earth’s core, I wouldn’t be disturbed again."

"I didn’t expect these mechanical cultists to dig into the mantle’s depths."

After speaking, its gaze fell on the mechanical insignia on Duncan, seemingly surprised that an otherworldly evil god had infiltrated the mechanical divine sect.

Could it be that the Insight Angel didn’t notice this otherworldly evil god?

Duncan was also a bit surprised at the moment, slept for so long?

Indeed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

A witch demon is supposed to be immortal.

Observing the other’s willingness to communicate, Duncan’s expression became increasingly calm, and he remarked indifferently: "You’ve been asleep for so long?"

"Was it to evade the pursuit of the Mechanical Divine Sect by fleeing into the underworld?"

The surface must be monitored by satellites.

The enormous magic power it emitted, if cast on the surface, would be detected by the Insight Sect’s mechanical angels in no time.

Duncan’s words seemed to provoke a tinge of anger in it, the soul fire in its eye sockets flickering. The ancient witch demon lightly extended a hand, and the No. 3 human form was grasped mid-air by an invisible force field hand. Its voice was hoarse: "I don’t care what you are, an otherworldly evil god or a void demon!"

"But you’ve now fallen into my hands and are powerless to resist!"

Before it could finish its statement, Duncan interrupted it expressionlessly, arrogantly saying: "Indeed. But what of it?"

"You’ve merely eliminated one of my avatars."

"Ultimately, you’ll still have to hide in the depths of the underground for eons, until one day, the angels of the Mechanical Divine Sect discover your existence."

"Even if you hide in the planetary core, one day you will inevitably be found by them."

Duncan’s words were like a needle piercing into the witch demon’s heart; although it wasn’t clear what Duncan was, it was increasingly certain he wasn’t human, as humans would fear a witch demon, yet the person before it showed no fear.

Only someone possessed by an otherworldly evil god would so carelessly regard life.

They have always been spying on reality.

At this moment, Duncan had a bit of a posture of turning the tables. Although the power gap was enormous, he wasn’t playing the role of a mortal but of an otherworldly evil god possessing a human.

The calmer he appeared, the more the witch demon before him was wary.

The witch demon gazed steadily at Duncan before it, slowly speaking: "What are you looking for here?"

"The dwarfs’ soul furnace?"

Duncan’s expression remained aloof, seemingly not planning to answer its question. He now looked resigned, without concern, as if willing to let No. 3 human form be destroyed; he had a playfully mysterious look as he said: "I originally came for the dwarfs’ ruins."

"But encountering you, I changed my mind."

"Interested in cooperating with me?"

A witch demon, an evil god, there certainly is the potential for cooperation.

Given the current situation, there’s no way for No. 3 human form to escape, so the only option is to bluff, and it’s not wrong to call Duncan an otherworldly evil god.

His true form is even more otherworldly than the outer heaven demon.

"Cooperation?"

The witch demon’s expression was surprised, slowly saying: "What can you offer me?"

"You are now as weak as an ant."

Duncan remained unmoved, indifferently saying: "This is only temporary. Merely an avatar."

"But you, how many more years can you hide? A thousand years? Two thousand years? Ten thousand years?"

"Your soul is decaying over time."

"One day, even an immortal witch demon’s soul will wither."

His words made the soul fire of the witch demon flicker, as if Duncan had seen through something.

It was strong.

But it lacked divinity, wasn’t truly immortal; as undead creatures aren’t easily killed. Even if it could continue to exist, its soul would decay over time until it completely lost itself. A witch demon living too long would turn into a mad witch demon.

It could only sleep to maintain sanity and combat soul decay.

The attitude of the witch demon changed again, its voice hoarse: "Can you grant me immortality?"

Now, it no longer doubted Duncan’s identity as an otherworldly evil god.

An undead spirit.

Truly not much could pique its interest anymore, and Duncan was giving it a try.

Divinity was the bait.

"Immortality?"

"No!"

Duncan’s demeanor grew more arrogant, looking down at the witch demon before him, slowly saying: "I once helped other mortals ascend to the divine spirit!"

"She became the god of witchcraft and secret arts of that world!"

Crow Queen - Triss.

She was able to become a Divine Spirit, indeed it was Duncan who orchestrated everything, spanning over several centuries.

This situation is hard to replicate during the Middle Ages, as the Crow Queen already had a strong foundation.

——Detecting Lies.

The lich in front started to believe a bit, because Duncan’s demeanor didn’t seem deceitful, it even bowed slightly and said, "If you can grant me immortality, I am willing to serve you."

First, let’s see if we can trick some things out, as for serving or not, it’s not up to it to decide.

Newly descended Outer Heaven Demons are very fragile, it still has confidence in handling them.

However, Outer Heaven Demons are indeed very generous.

It’s not easy for them to enter reality; to gain a foothold in the real world, they often endow cultists with powerful abilities.

This is where Duncan has to reveal something genuine.

He has no doubt that if he can’t produce anything, and fails to impress the lich before him, it will turn hostile the next moment and might even attempt to extract the soul from Human Form No. 3.

Dimension Space.

Duncan is reviewing the cards in his hand, there aren’t many things he can bluff the lich with, basically relying on the resources of Human Form No. 1.

At this moment he pondered for a moment and said calmly, "How could the power of immortality be easily granted?"

"Even if I granted you a wisp of divinity, aren’t you afraid I might possess you?"

Liches can also possess others.

Hearing Duncan, the soul fire in the lich’s eye sockets flickered slightly, and at some unknown time, a Soul Stone emerged in its palm.

This was a move to seize the soul without a word.

But even if it seized souls, it would only get an empty shell, because Duncan’s true form was above dimensions, at most obtaining a larger Soul Stone.

Not like other mortals, who can directly soul-search to retrieve memories.

Duncan glanced indifferently at the Soul Stone in its hand, seemingly unfazed by the lich’s implicit threat, and said coolly, "Though I cannot bestow upon you immortal divinity at the moment, I can grant you other gifts."

The lich’s attitude softened a bit, even assuming a posture of listening earnestly: "If you are truly a god of another world, you surely wouldn’t hesitate to perform a miracle."

It still held some skepticism towards Duncan’s identity.

Within the Dimension Space.

Duncan had a mind shift, and in the lower layers of the void, a broken world encapsulated in his palm, an Annihilation Half-Plane he snatched from a Demon God, originally intended as the Divine Country for Crow Queen Triss, but she looked down upon it and instead drew upon the faith in Polytheism to form a realm akin to Avalon’s Otherworld.

Indeed, the Annihilation Plane wasn’t a realm befitting a True God.

Duncan said calmly, "The real world suppresses my power, but if you can detach your soul from reality, I don’t mind performing a miracle."

At that moment, his palm lifted, and the Annihilation Plane in his hand seemed to form a faint link with World No. 3.

The lich was indeed powerful.

It sensed something uncanny, the soul fire flickering constantly, showing a mix of fear and curiosity.

Finally, it raised its palm, with the Wind of Magic swirling, it created another body out of thin air, a bare skeletal frame, yet with soul fire burning in its eye sockets.

——Gate of the Otherworld.

The lich actively channeled a spell to link with the dimensional mark Duncan offered, and as the space around it tore apart, its created projection avatar entered.

In an instant!

Within the projection page of the Dimension Space, prompts appeared continuously.

In the hand-held Annihilation Plane in Duncan’s palm, an avatar of the lich appeared slowly, its head just lifted, resulting in a complete daze.

At this moment.

Its soul consciousness was partly detached from the real world.

A gray mist receded in all directions, soon revealing a desolate land of blood and bones.

A broken blood sun hung in the distant sky.

On top of a mountain strewn with blood-red thorns stood a fortress of bones, built with thousands of skeletons, where spectral silhouettes in blood-red armor stood under the high walls, decomposed like weathered remnants, leaving only empty shells.

A meandering river of blood flowed from the mountain top, circling that fortress-like inferno, the moat filled with continually sinking and rising corpses.

It’s a realm of the Demon God!

The lich’s expression drastically changed, everything it saw confirmed it was within a half-plane created by a Demon God.

At this moment, the starry sky seemed transformed.

When the lich looked up, it saw an unprecedented spectacle, outside the spatial barrier of the Annihilation Plane, under the endless void, a colossal dark giant beyond comprehension appeared outside the world.

And this giant held the Annihilation Half-Plane in its palm, while the lich’s projection was as minute as dust.

The sight was absolutely terrifying!

What the lich saw was comparable to mortals in the World of Warcraft witnessing the planet-sized Dark Titan Sargeras, and even as an undead, it felt soul-trembling terror of giantophobia.

The terrifying figure seemed to merge with the void, when its deep gaze fell, overlooking the lich before him.

In that instant.

Its legs buckled, dropping to its knees on the spot.

This was no ordinary Void Evil God! The soul pressure it exerted on the lich surpassed even the scene of witnessing the Mechanical Divine Descent back then!
