His soul-Chapter 515: Our baby
Doctor Olivia’s words were not heard by Gina, Gina was already too focused staring at the figure of the man who suddenly appeared from the same place as doctor Olivia came out.
"Honey..." Massimo repeated his words, calling out to Gina in a trembling voice.
Gina, who didn’t expect to meet Massimo at doctor Olivia’s place, almost fell if doctor Olivia didn’t restrain her body. Meeting again the man who had dumped her two months ago made Gina’s feelings stir up.
"Sit down, Gina," doctor Olivia said softly, inviting Gina to sit down.
Realizing that doctor Olivia was involved in Massimo’s current appearance, Gina immediately gave doctor Olivia an accusatory look.
"I know you must be angry and upset with me, but before that we better sit down first. I’ll explain everything to you," said Olivia’s doctor again.
Gina immediately shook her head quickly. "N-no, I-I want to go home."
"Honey..."
"Gina..."
Gina tightened her grip on doctor Olivia’s arm. "Please, I beg you. I want to go home, doc." The tears that Gina held back slowly began to wet her face.
Massimo’s chest tightened when he saw Gina’s very clear rejection, Massimo knew if Gina didn’t want to talk to him at this time. And Massimo doesn’t blame Gina for that, Massimo realizes if his mistake is too big for Gina to easily forgive.
Doctor Olivia, who had decided to help Gina return to Massimo, thinned her lips, she gently touched Gina’s bulging stomach. "Your son deserves to know who his father is, Gina."
Gina bit her lower lip hard, trying to hold back the sound of her crying.
"Please sit down,," doctor Olivia said softly.
Gina, who was too shocked to meet Massimo again, just bowed her head to hear doctor Olivia’s words. She is too confused to do what right now. Because Gina did not answer her words, doctor Olivia then invited Gina to sit on the sofa in the corner of her practice room which now has a calming atmosphere.
After seeing Gina sitting well, Massimo then stepped to the sofa where doctor Olivia and Gina were sitting side by side.
"I know by now you must be wondering why Mr. Massimo showed up in my practice room," doctor Olivia said slowly opening the conversation. "And before I explain the reason, I want to tell you something."
Gina raised her face to look at doctor Olivia. "Want to tell what?"
"You must be wondering why your son was so active yesterday, unlike the usual days. You want to know what the reason is?"
"What’s the reason, doc?" Gina asked softly.
Doctor Olivia smiled, turning to Massimo who was sitting across from where they were sitting. "Your baby is feeling his father’s arrival," doctor Olivia replied softly.
Gina’s eyes were perfectly round. "I-it’s impossible, how could such a thing happen," Gina said, her hands curled around her stomach at the same time.
"A child has a great inner bond with both parents, even though the child is still in the womb."
Gina shook her head slowly, trying to deny doctor Olivia’s words.
"Your baby, even though he never knew who his father was. He had never heard his voice, but he had a strong bond with his father, Gina. That’s why yesterday he was so active because he knew his father was thinking about him." Doctor Olivia spoke softly again. "The baby is very sensitive, Gina. He knows he is so missed."
Gina’s tears flowed again. "T-this baby is mine, doc."
"Indeed, who says this baby belongs to someone else."
"Doctor!"
Doctor Olivia chuckled. "Talk to the father of your baby, resolve your misunderstandings."
Feeling that Olivia’s doctor was going to leave, Gina immediately grabbed Olivia’s doctor’s hand firmly. "No, don’t go. I don’t want to be alone with her."
"Gina,"doctor Olivia sighed softly. "Speak up, you are adults. Solve your problems, don’t keep avoiding. That won’t solve the problem."
"We don’t have a problem, our problem was over when he divorced me, doc," Gina said hoarsely, remembering the wounds she had tried to bury for the past two months that made her chest feel tight again.
"Forgive my stupidity, baby." Massimo immediately responded to Gina’s words with regret. "I’m sorry for my crazy actions that day, I’m sorry. I’m really sorry."
Slowly Gina turned her gaze towards Massimo fearfully, after glancing at Massimo all the words that Gina had wanted to say to the man just disappeared. All the curses she wanted to give to Massimo seemed to yawn into the air as she stared at the man, staring into both eyes that looked so sad making Gina’s defense shatter to pieces.
Realizing that her presence was a nuisance, doctor Olivia slowly released the grip of Gina’s hand from her arm. "Speak up, I won’t bother both of you"
"Thank you, doc," Massimo replied quickly.
Doctor Olivia nodded softly, not wanting Gina to hold her back like before. Doctor Olivia hurried out of her practice room, to a special room for her to rest where doctor Dorothea was waiting patiently. Moments ago, doctor Olivia invited doctor Dorothea and Massimo to wait in her room while Gina was on her way to the hospital.
As soon as doctor Olivia left, silence immediately surrounded Gina and Massimo, not a single word escaped their lips. Guilt -covered Massimo was waiting for the right time to start talking, he looked so confused about where to start talking.
"Sorry..."
"There’s nothing to be forgiven," Gina said quickly, cutting off Massimo’s words.
Massimo squeezed his thigh hard. "I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that stupid thing."
"Come on Massimo, you don’t need to talk about it again. I’ve forgotten about it, so don’t talk about it again. Don’t you want to remember all the things that have happened."
"Honey..."
Gina shook her head quickly. "Don’t call me by that name, we’re not tied in any relationship so you don’t have to... .akhh..."
Gina shouted loudly when Massimo, who was sitting in front of her suddenly dropped his body, kneeling in front of her. His two large hands immediately squeezed Gina’s hand which was as cold as him.
"I’m sorry, darling. I’m sorry, I’m sorry," Massimo said hoarsely with tears already running down his face, two black lines clearly visible under Massimo’s eyes after not sleeping all night after seeing all the therapy sessions done by Gina and doctor Dorothea before.
Massimo’s stare so deeply made Gina’s chest feel tight, although she was very angry at the man but this time all her anger disappeared, replaced by a foreign feeling that suddenly appeared as soon as she saw Massimo again. Gina doesn’t realize if her love for Massimo is still so great.
Not wanting to fall back on Massimo’s charm, Gina tried to free her hand from Massimo’s grip. However, just about to pull her hand away suddenly her baby kicked hard.
"Ouch..."
"What happened? W-does your stomach hurt? Do you need doctor Olivia?" Massimo, who panicked, immediately asked Gina various questions at once after hearing Gina’s moan of pain. "I’m calling her now."
"No." Gina immediately squeezed Massimo’s hand hard. "Don’t call doctor Olivia, I-I’m fine."
"How can it be okay, you were moaning in pain," Massimo said worriedly.
"Really, I’m fine. This kind of thing has happened many times."
Massimo frowned. "Has it happened often? How can that be?" Massimo shouted loudly. "No, this can’t be allowed. You have to get checked" 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Our baby, he moved his legs suddenly and it made me a little sick, that’s why I was screaming."
Massimo’s heart was beating faster. "O-our baby..."
