His soul-Chapter 391: Breakfast together
The presence of Massimo and Gina in the dining room of the Sanders family residence made a very striking difference, some of Massimo’s silly actions were the source of debate between Gina and Massimo himself. The ridiculous bans Massimo gave to Gina when she was about to eat made Gina finally unable to eat freely.
"Oh come on, Massimo. I’m fine, don’t force me to eat porridge again."
"No, you haven’t recovered yet. Thomas still asks you not to eat carelessly!"
"Jesus, eating a little chocolate won’t give me a stomach ache. I want that chocolate, Massimo."
Massimo shook his head. "We are waiting for permission from Thomas, while waiting, you better finish your porridge first."
"No! I don’t want that food, it tastes like vomit."
"You have no other choice, baby. Quickly open your mouth, my hand hurts," said Massimo gently forcing Gina to open her mouth.
Having no other choice, Gina finally obeyed and did Massimo’s orders. Opened her mouth and allowed Massimo to feed her the asparagus porridge the maid had prepared after Martin had ordered them to make it for Gina earlier in the morning.
Seeing that Gina finally obeyed and let Massimo help her eat, Julian gave a small smile before finally putting on a straight face again. As soon as Martin was told that Gina had digestive problems, Julian finally stopped thinking about Massimo as badly as last night when he thought Massimo had hurt Gina. But unlike Diego, Diego doesn’t seem to touch his food at all. The only thing Diego touched was the coffee cup which had been refilled twice by the maid, seeing the affection Massimo showed made Diego very thirsty even though Diego didn’t really like coffee before.
"How many days will you stay, Gina?" Selena asked suddenly.
"Selena..."
Massimo didn’t continue as Gina gripped his hand tightly.
"One week, I’ll stay a week," Gina answered quickly.
"Hell, no! What the hell? We’re only visiting for one day, baby. We’re going back to Almeria tonight," said Massimo quickly.
"Just go back to Almeria yourself then," Gina replied curtly.
"Gina!"
Gina immediately turned to Massimo as soon as she heard his rising tone. "I have a lot of plans that I want to do in Barcelona, Massimo. This is my father’s house after all, I’m hanging out with my brothers and sisters. So there’s no reason for you to force me to come home early."
Massimo narrowed his eyes looking intently at Gina who had just spoken to him without pause, it was obvious that Massimo didn’t like hearing Gina’s words. For the next few seconds Gina thought Massimo was going to force his will on her again as he had been before, but Gina’s worries didn’t seem to be happening. Massimo instead chose to feed her asparagus porridge again.
"Since you’re staying for a week, how about we visit grandma and grandpa this afternoon?" asked Rosa suddenly with sparkling eyes.
Rosa’s words succeeded in making everyone sitting around the dining table turn towards her, including Massimo and Gina.
"Seeing Grandma and Grandpa?" Selena repeated in disbelief.
"Yeah, we haven’t been to Grandma and Grandpa’s graves in quite a while. It would be nice if we went together to..."
"I can’t come," Diego interrupted quickly.
"Why?" asked Rosa sadly.
"This morning there is an important meeting with investors from Paris with Daddy at the office," Diego answered flatly.
"Ishhh..."
"This is an important meeting, Rosa. Don’t be angry with your brother, you know that Diego’s schedule is full. Next time you want to go make an appointment first, dear," said Julian softly cutting Rosa’s words, defending Diego.
Massimo smiled sarcastically at Julian’s words, he really wanted to throw a glass of water at Julian right now so that the man would be aware of the mask that the son of his ex-wife and her former husband wore.
Rosa’s face changed. "Okay then if Daddy and Diego can’t go, then it’ll only be the three of us going to the graveyard."
"I can’t go either, Rosa. I have a photoshoot scheduled with Dior make-up."
Rosa immediately turned her gaze to Selena, looking disbelieving. "Seriously?"
"I don’t want to get into trouble in the future because I don’t come on the schedule the agency has set, Rosa," Selena explained again.
"Well then, it means that the plan to go to our graves is postponed then," said Rosa sadly.
"Why the delay?" asked Gina quickly. "I can accompany you on your way, Rosa."
"Are you serious?" cried Rosa tearfully.
Gina nodded slowly as she put on a sweet smile. "Yeah, I’ve missed them a lot after all."
Rosa shouted with joy at Gina’s words, although previously Massimo had not given permission but Gina had immediately promised to go with Rosa to the tomb. A few minutes later Julian asked Diego to go to the office, as usual the man kissed Rosa and Selena’s forehead in turn when going to the office followed by Diego who did the same to his two younger siblings.
"Looks like Daddy can’t kiss you, honey," said Julian quietly, sarcastically at Massimo, who immediately wrapped his arms around Gina’s waist as soon as Julian finished kissing Rosa’s forehead who was sitting next to Gina.
"Of course not," said Massimo curtly.
Gina took a deep breath. "Be careful, Dad, Diego."
Diego pursed his lips at Gina’s words. "Don’t worry, I’ll take Daddy safely to the office. It would be nice if tonight when we got back home you were still here, Gina."
"Of course I’m still here, Diego. I’ll stay here for a week." Gina repeated her previous words.
"Your husband allowed?" Diego’s sarcasm was accompanied by a piercing glare at Massimo.
"Yeah, how can that be..."
"It’s being considered," said Massimo, quickly interrupting Gina’s words. "If Thomas gives you permission then we will be able to stay longer in Barcelona."
Gina immediately turned her face towards Massimo quickly. "Massimo..."
"You don’t want another IV, do you, honey?" asked Massimo softly.
Gina shook her head in resignation.
"Well then, we are waiting for information from Thomas," said Massimo again.
Julian smiled flatly, slowly extending his hand towards the maid asking for his coat. "Okay then Daddy and your brother are leaving, honey. Sorry Daddy can’t stay with you at home for long."
"It’s okay, Dad. I know we still have plenty of time to talk," Gina replied softly.
Julian nodded his head slowly, then he walked with dignity towards the exit with Charlie leaving the dining table followed by Diego who didn’t say any more greetings to Gina. ten minutes after Julian and Diego left, Selena followed. Having a pretty hectic schedule makes Selena have to leave early so she doesn’t get stuck in a crazy traffic jam.
"It’s quiet," said Rosa quietly, breaking the silence.
Gina, who had just wiped her lips with a handkerchief, smiled at Rosa. "They’re busy people Rosa and you’re not leaving me either, are you?"
Rosa shook her head slowly. "I quit my job, Gina."
"What? why?"
"There’s a bit of trouble at the hospital."
"Problem? What problem?"
Rose smiled. "Ordinary, the most basic things in the world of work."
Gina shook her head. "I’ve never worked, so I don’t know what you mean, Rosa."
"Bully, seniors’ pretentious and snobby attitude disgusts me," said Rosa quickly.
"Is Rosaline Sanders being bullied? Are you kidding me?" said Massimo suddenly.
Rosa smiled at Massimo. "Rosa, they only know me by the name Rosa without the frills Sanders."
"Eh?"
Rosa turned her gaze again to Gina. "I do the same thing you did back in college, Gina. I want to make friends who don’t see me as Sanders."
Gina blinked her eyes, not believing what Rosa said. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"What’s your reason for doing that?" asked Massimo curiously.
"I don’t know, seeing Selena who was used by her friends before finally choosing to drop out of college and become a model, I realized that not everyone in this world is really sincere to us," said Rosa softly with a smile.
"So Selena dropped out of college because her friends took advantage of her?" asked Gina in surprise.
Rosa took a deep breath before finally telling what happened to Selena not long after the new semester started, while Rosa was talking, Gina unconsciously grabbed Massimo’s hand. Gina shuddered at what Rosa said.
"Fortunately, Diego’s car passed by, otherwise I don’t know what happened to Selena," said Rosa hoarsely.
"Jeez, then what did those impudent friends of Selena do?"
Rosa smiled at Gina. "Diego imprisoned them all."
"All?" Gina screamed in surprise.
"Yes everyone, boy or girl. Charlie kept them in jail long enough."
"Why not just kill him?" said Massimo quietly without guilt.
"Massimo!"
Massimo smiled at Gina. "What? Was there something wrong with what I said?"
Gina immediately massaged her aching head, talking to Massimo about this kind of thing was inappropriate. With annoyance Gina then got up from her chair and led Rosa away from the dining table, leaving Massimo alone.
"Your husband isn’t mad you left him like that, Gina?" whispered Rosa.
"Leave it alone, it’s his hobby to be angry. What are you going to do?"
Rosa chuckled amused, she let Gina take her to the garden beside the pool. After feeling that there were no bullies, Gina then asked Rosa everything that had happened during the past five years, including the reason that Vanessa was divorced by her father.
"Seeing you lying unconscious in the ICU room with many wounds on your body made me and Selena realize that you have sacrificed for this family, that’s why Selena and I didn’t stop Daddy from divorcing Mommy, who at that time didn’t feel empathy at all for your very sad condition, sobs ...sorry I got carried away too much," Rosa said hoarsely, ending her words.
Gina smiled, her heart felt warm hearing all Rosa’s words. Even though Selena’s attitude is not as good as Rosa’s, Gina is already very lucky that her step sister was willing to greet her first this morning when they met on the second floor, even though Selena also wanted to hug her unlike five years ago.
"But there’s one big question I want to ask you, Gina."
"Question, what question?" Gina asked softly as she tightened her grip on Rosa’s.
Rosa looked around, making sure that neither Massimo nor his men were near them at this time.
"What’s wrong? Why are you even looking around?" Gina asked again, exasperated.
After making sure things were safe, Rosa looked back at Gina seriously. "You, what’s your reason for going back to that guy? You almost died because of it too, Gina. You’re no longer being coerced by that bad guy, are you? If he’s still forcing your will on you better talk to Diego, Diego will help you, Gina. "
Gina smiled and shook her head slowly at Rosa’s words.
