Heroine-Saving System: Reborn In A Third-Rate Manga As The Protagonist-Chapter 128 - 129: Family Outing?
"Aunt Reona…" Mable said as she sat cross-legged on her Aunt's bed, though her aunt wasn't as old as her other Mamas, Mable felt comfortable around all of them.
She was still learning what a few things meant like when to use san, kun, chan or even sama. It was a bit of an annoying experience but the dragon wanted to learn.
"Yes, Maby?" Reona asked while styling Mable's hair.
She was still a bit surprised that this was her Onii-chan's daughter but by extension, Mable was her own daughter so she would take responsibility where he couldn't… Though she couldn't think of why he did that when he was in the Academy and barely had any time for his own daughter.
She looked at the girl in the mirror and something about it made her chest feel a strange kind of full, she hadn't expected to feel like this about a child she had met weeks ago.
Reona hoped that it would get better between her and Koya, she hated seeing Mable unhappy.
"Mable, when do you think Papa is going to come home?" Mable asked, though the dragon was as prideful as they came… She wanted to spend time with him which was why she wanted to go to the Outer Zone but her body just had to sleep after that fun game.
"I think he'll be home very soon." Reona replied while patting her hair, she really didn't know but she didn't want to make the girl sadder so she answered. "Here, all done… I think you look pretty."
Mable looked at herself in the mirror, her blond hair was styled beautifully and some strands came down her face.
It made her happy but she wondered if he would like it too… Just then her eyes widened.
"He's here." She said while opening the door and running out, as soon as she left the room, her wings sprouted out from her back and she soared down to the front door.
She didn't use the stairs nor did she even consider it.
Not only was Victoria and the other girls there, even Hakai was standing and talking to him but she was more focused on the tall man.
"Papa!" She let out and landed on his face, driving Riffi off quite easily and then she hit his head. "You left me behind… you should have carried me along… Bad Papa."
Riffi hit the floor, looked up at the small dragon now sitting on Koya's head, and decided not to comment so she walked back to his shoulder in silence.
"Sorry Mable." He patted her hair cutely and she puffed out her cheeks again, pretending to be mad but she couldn't be.
This was the man that had gave her mana when she was feeling all cold and even helped nourish her while she was in the egg, he was her Father and she could feel their bond.
It wasn't something she had words for yet sine she couldn't fully understand it, it was just a warmth that sat in her chest whenever he was close and went quiet whenever he wasn't.
"I'll make it up to you today." He said and turned to Hakai. "You were suggesting something just now… Go on."
Koya hadn't believed it the first time and he didn't believe it the second time too… The Older woman's lips moved and she smiled.
"Let's go on a Family outing, with all of us including Yuna and Akemi." She suggested. "I made a reservation at an amusement park in preparation for today and we can go there now if you want."
He doubted she had any other intentions behind it… but still, Hakai suggesting a whole trip for everybody?
Also she hadn't even given him missions despite saying that she would do so even if he was in the Academy.
She was smiling too.
What was going on with Hakai?
"Amusement park?" Mable's eyes lit up instantly. "I saw that on Television, Papa… come on, let's go to the Amusement Park. I want to see the rollercoaster and the drop tower and the bumper cars and…"
She began listing all of them out and Koya let out a sigh.
"Sure then, let's go out." He said with a smile and she let go of his face and gave him a kiss on the forehead, his chest suddenly felt very warm.
He could feel her happiness.
"Well you're not going out looking like that." Hakai took a step back and put both of her hands together. "If we're going to head out, we need to wear disguises."
"Disguises?" Mable asked, what were disguises and why did she need them?
"Yes Disguises, we have to change our hair color." Hakai said. "Not to brag but your Papa is really famous… he even has some people that were stalking him."
She totally didn't order her people to kill the Stalkers...........
"Stalking? Papa, what's stalking?" She asked and Hakai chimed in.
"Mama will tell you later but first, we'll give you all new make-overs and then we'll all go on a Family vacation where we can spend time together." She said, pointing to five young women who just appeared in the room wearing maid dresses.
"I'll stick with Papa." She said while holding Koya's hand however Hakai took her own step forward and took Koya's other hand.
"Papa is my husband so I should dress him." She said meekly while biting her lip which was a first for her in Koya's eyes. "Go get your own husband."
"Stop that." Koya said, she was barely two weeks old… Why were there talks about a husband already?
Sure she looked older than her age but still, he didn't want her bringing boys home.
"Well I'm Papa's daughter." She jabbed her chest, showing off her dragon wings. "And I'm a dragon too so I should be with my Papa too."
"Hey." Victoria popped up by hugging Koya from behind. "I'm his wife too so I should get a say and I vote that I should be the only one to dress him."
Koya sighed, they were getting nowhere by this… He expected Mable and Victoria but Hakai? There were a lot of surprising things about her today.
"How about all of you dress me up, what's the worse that could happen?" Koya asked and he regretted it immediately after.
All three of them turned to look at him at the same time with completely different expressions and he knew he had made a mistake.
…
"Papa look, it's the Ferris wheel and the—"
The sounds of screams cut Mable off as several people rode on the spin in the rollercoaster.
She stopped mid-sentence and stared at it with her mouth slightly open, watching the car go through a loop at full speed while the riders screamed. Her wings had been retracted or else they would have been flicking in happiness.
Koya however was different… He didn't really like a rollercoaster, in this life or the last. What if they fell? He wouldn't die but still… It was a very big what-if?
And right now, he was also currently in a disguise that he didn't particularly like, as for why he didn't like it, The two women and one girl that had dressed him had different beauty standards.
For example, Hakai wanted them to look like a business family with suits and stuff and it was the same with Victoria but she wanted to have a twist in his hair to look like a true vampire noble while Mable wanted him to wear a red bow-tie.
In the end, they had painted his hair complete white, left his crimson eyes and literally made him look like a combination of the average silver haired protagonist with the build of a Mafia Boss.
Hakai had quite literally just changed her hair style and she looked more different and she was wearing the same clothes except a skirt and her star-shaped crest on her face too.
Victoria stood on his other side and was wearing the same thing, she sprayed her hair black though and wore earrings now and literally the rest of the girls as well, including Reona was forced into this disguise.
"The only thing I want to ask is why the hell are we wearing suits to an Amusement Park?" He turned to Hakai who clicked her tongue and turned her face to the right, not caring that people were looking at them weirdly.
"It looks cool, Papa. Stop being annoyed." She said and the expression on his face changed pretty quickly making her giggle, even Riffi who was on his shoulder was wearing a small top hat of her own.
Riffi had no opinion on the top hat, she was going to wear it without complaint and that was the end of it since Koya had worn it on her.
A family walking past them slowed down to stare and a small child pointed. His mother pulled his hand down and kept moving but she looked back once too.
"Sure." He said and knelt down on one leg of his expensive suit to adjust the hair tie on her own white hair since she wanted to match with him.
She stood very still while he fixed it with both hands at her sides and her chin slightly up, trying to look patient and mostly succeeding.
"You look cute."
"You think so?" She asked with a smile on her face. "Now come on, I demand you take me to the rides."
"Hold your horses." He held her hand and turned back. "Like Hakai said when we were getting here… We're going to split up."
While it was going to be a Family outing, it was also an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other outside the mansion.
"Onii-chan, I'll be going with Yuu-chan." She said while taking up Yuu's hand and then Nami stepped forward with a sigh.
"I'll go with them too." She said and Disguise Master stepped forward, while she did want to lounge around Koya… the other two were here and Hakai would be suspicious if she started letting herself go if Koya patted her head so she made an option.
"I'll join in." She said and Koya nodded, the four of them split off and walked away.
Disguise Master didn't look back once, that was a conscious decision she made and she was sticking to it.
Koya had already told Nami that he would take her on a date after Mid-terms and she agreed so he was feeling quite light.
After that, it was Yuna and Akemi with Yuna dragging the girl along despite her efforts to stay with him.
Next he turned to Hakai and Victoria… the two women had said that they would leave him and Mable alone to enjoy their day but he doubted it.
Regardless Hakai placed her hands on his shoulder.
"Have a good day." She puckered her lips and gave him a kiss, he could tell she wanted to swap it to tongue but decided otherwise mid-way and patted his head instead.
"Don't do that again." He felt weird, it was better when he was doing it with the girls.
"Shh… aren't you my good boy?" She gave him another kiss on the lips and then Victoria pulled his head right giving him a kiss on the lips as well, it was a lot deeper.
"Here, I've wiped the saliva of that woman off you. Now enjoy your day." She said and before Hakai could start again, Mable dragged him over to the first stand leaving the two women looking at each other.
"So shall we?" Victoria asked and Hakai nodded, they both decided that they would trail Koya… that was their whole reason for agreeing to working together in the first place.
Neither of them said it out loud so they just started walking in the same direction at the same pace without looking at each other.
…
'I knew it.' Koya thought as they slinked away but instead of going into the stands, they were still watching him.
He could feel two very specific mana signatures sitting about thirty meters behind him pretending to look at a food stall.
They weren't fooling anyone.
"Papa, focus on me." She said. "Look at me for today."
"Aww." He said and she punched him, was he trying to make her shy?
They arrived at the first stand and she tried to hop up to see what the store was selling from close-up but she was too short and Koya lifted her up.
She pressed both hands on the counter and leaned forward with her nose almost touching the glass display which was very dignified for a dragon.
"Afternoon sir." He said looking at the two of them, all he could see was a rich man that had probably come home from a business trip and was trying to bring his daughter to an amusement park. "Would you like some chocolate-dipped fruit skewers?"
"Chocolate? Oh I want some chocolate, Papa, get me some chocolate." She said and the man winced but then again, the white haired young man smiled.
"Sure, how much does it cost?" Koya asked.
"Our skewers are very high quality and we have a different selection of fruit skewers available." He swayed his hand at the counter and showed the several skewers that had been stuck in chocolate. "We have strawberry, banana, mango, pineapple and grape."
Koya lowered her down and she looked in each small tub.
She had been eating quite some fruits since Aunt Nami said it would help her grow stronger… so now she knew what she wanted.
"Bananas are good." She reached down and took one of the Banana chocolate skewers then pulled out another. "One for me and one for Papa and Riffi, buy it. "
"How much does it cost?" He asked the man.
"Each one costs about 100 crowns since it's High quality." He replied with a smile and Koya's face almost twitched, 100 crowns for one?
He could burn through a million but just for a banana stuck in chocolate? Make that make sense.
But his role today was that of a rich person, why wear clothes worth millions if he tried to price it down?
"Sure." He said while extending Hakai's card, cause why not?
Riffi watched from his shoulder as the card went in.
'I want to be in my human form so I can join up with them.' Riffi thought, but she had burned through most of her energy this morning and if she turned human, she would fall asleep.
The man put Hakai's card in his machine and Koya put in the code, purchasing the skewers and walking off with the card back in his pocket.
"Alright since you can see properly now…" He said as he now carried her with one hand around her waist while lifting her up. "Let's ch-mph."
She put one of the banana skewers in his mouth getting chocolate over his lips.
"Here Papa, have it." He took it with his free hand and began eating alongside her as they walked to another stall.
Riffi eyed the skewer from his shoulder, he broke a piece off the end and held it up without looking and she took it from his hand with her mouth.
'Banana is acceptable.' She thought. 'Grape would have been better.'
She wasn't one of those Monkey familiars from the Isle…
The Fruit Skewer was better than he expected but honestly, it still wasn't worth 100 whole credits. What was that guy on?
Mable finished hers before they had gone ten steps and was already looking around for the next thing. She looked at his.
"Ooh… Ooh, I wanna go there next." She pointed to another stall except that it wasn't a stall but more like a large tent with crooked words on top of it.
'HAUNTED HOUSE'
"Haunted House? You want to get scared?" He asked and she nodded. "I doubt you will though."
She had high magic sensitivity so why would a dragon get scared of a spell?
But since it was their Father-daughter date, he agreed and walked to the tent.
Upon entering, it was strangely one wide room which was weird since it was supposed to be a whole haunted test and there were slots on the ground that were shaped like squares, there was only one square left while the rest were full of people.
The people in the other slots were standing very still and very quiet however he ignored them since there was a counter so he walked there, looking at a woman who had tired eyes though they lit up when she saw him.
"Sir, welcome to the Haunted House." She said, looking at his clothes and nearly blushing.
He looked like he came out of her dreams or something. "Would you like to join the slot heading to the Haunted House?"
While he wanted to ask why the Haunted House wasn't here, he wouldn't stress it too much.
"Yes I do, but my daughter…" He said and she nodded.
"Of course, you can just stand in the slot there… with your daughter in hand, the both of you will enter the Haunted House immediately."
"Am I not going to pay beforehand?" He just had to ask.
"It's after the ride." She replied while her cheeks pinked up a bit… It was the same thing with Hakai and Victoria, did they really like white hair that much?
He walked to the slot with her in hand and nothing happened, and even Riffi was silent as well.
'I don't like this place.' Riffi thought. Her ears were flat under the top hat, then again, it could be because she wasn't a fan for the kind of magic in the air.
"Papa is nothing going to–"
The slots opened up between them, swallowing all of them into the darkness with several screams sounding at once from every direction.
