Heroine-Saving System: Reborn In A Third-Rate Manga As The Protagonist-Chapter 127 - 128: Get-Back [II]
"Ugh… this place is so damn hot." A young man said while wiping the sweat off his face. "Don't forget to reshare guys and keep clicking that like button."
This young man was a streamer and after having low engagement for quite a lot of time, he had decided to tackle some content involving one of the most trending topics amongst the Supercities, Amagi Koya.
He had decided to start a stream heading into the Salamander's Lair to show places where Koya had fought including the now-sealed hole that had gone down and even the bigger hole where the Alpha Salamander had flown out from the bottom to the top of the lair which was still under repair… in fact, he was showing even his footsteps that had been engraved into the ground as he had ran to the lair and the man had to be honest.
'These people are eating it up.' He thought, Koya was almost on the level of popular Awakened like the Dean of Familiars, maybe because it was a commoner that was defying everything a Four-liner was supposed to be capable of… or maybe because he was the only man that could use two different kinds of elemental magic which were fire and even Frame Magic.
The young man even heard that ALI had to constantly drive people off at the gates since so many women and men included wanted to see him daily.
'I've even made enough from the stream to get myself a new camera.' He thought while walking, he still didn't have as much views as Ichinose but for someone who used to get 2 views before, three hundred thousand active viewers was insane.
While he felt sorry for her, he didn't feel so sorry since he was more focused on the gains that he was getting.
"Chat, you know what would be so funny… What if Koya-san came here for a round tw–" A brush of wind went past him immediately, blowing his clothes, his hair and even making his camera shake.
The camera feed tilted sideways for a second and the mic picked up a sound like something tearing through the air and then it was gone.
It had been a person, moving so fast that even he as a Two-liner could still feel his body trembling, the young man looked at the chat and raised an eyebrow.
「OMG THAT WAS KOYA I SAW THE BLONDE HAIR」
「bro went past like he was shot out of a cannon💀」
「that was 100% Amagi Koya, nobody else moves like that」
"It was Koya?" He blinked and then immediately began running while holding the Camera in front…
He really couldn't believe it, this was the direction of the Alpha Salamander's room so that meant he was going for a Round 2?
His legs were moving before his brain had finished processing it.
He had three hundred thousand viewers… the chat was already going insane and he could even see the numbers climbing in the corner of the screen but he didn't look at them.
He just ran instead.
He really couldn't believe his luck… Had the White King finally decided to have mercy on him and grant him the opportunity of a lifetime?
"Master…" Riffi said while Koya dashed down the road while still holding his sword in hand, any Salamander that got in his way was cleaved faster than they could react.
They didn't even have time to register him before the sword was already past them.
The ones at the back of the tunnel saw their companions drop and turned to run but by then he was already gone and further down the passage with the sound of his footsteps fading into the heat.
He was moving a bit slower than he was while escaping from Yvelion since that was a stupid thing to do in such a narrow place but he had to admit, he felt very nice and overpowered right now.
"What's up?" Koya answered. "We're almost there and we'll get the drop on it almost immediately."
While it was intelligent, it was much better to test the current limits of his strength here getting revenge instead of looking for other monsters to terrorize, the Alpha Salamander was stronger than most of them too.
"We ran past a guy that was holding one strange device just now… but I could feel it was peering at us." She reported, he had mana like them but he was too weak for Riffi's liking but then again, the average human was even more weaker than that man so she had to give him his props for being that strong at least.
"Oh, that's probably a Streamer." He said while already beginning to prepare for the drop downward as the opening was beginning to appear up front.
"A streamer? What's that?" She asked.
"You know those funny people you like watching on my phone right? These people record and show it so that everyone in the world can see it live from the comfort of their homes with a caemra, though just leave him on the side… We have bigger fish to fry." He replied as he leapt into the air and fell through the hole leading downward into the place where he had faced the Alpha Salamander last time.
The rock formation had changed a bit since his last visit but it was still a wide place and the big monster laid on the ground with its tails flicking around as its eyes were closed.
'It's sleeping huh?' Koya thought as he fell through the air in the direction of the Alpha Salamander and reared his two legs forward.
It was just seconds of freefall and the heat rose up to meet him while the lava pools in the cave formation below cast everything in orange.
The Alpha's obsidian scales caught the light as its tails flicked slowly in sleep.
The Alpha Salamander woke and turned its face but it was too late as both of Koya's legs slammed into it and it was sent flying into one of the cavern walls entirely like a ball, slamming into it and creating a crater there.
Chunks of rock the size of boulders broke off and rained down around the impact point.
The surroundings down here were really hot and there were pools of lava everywhere but with his new endurance, he really didn't feel it.
The Alpha Salamander clawed its way out of the wreckage slowly.
'Numb.' He thought and activated the skill, rendering himself unable to feel pain as long as the skill was on.
While he was very conflicted about using the skill again, as long as he didn't sustain that much damage, his body wouldn't pop like last time.
The last time had been bad enough that he still thought about it occasionally but he wasn't doing that again then he returned his sword to the storage ring too.
"Master, why did you take back your weapon?" She asked and looked at the excitement in his eyes, was he trying to take on the monster bare-handed?
The Alpha Salamander got on its feet and roared shaking the whole cavern and stirring the lava.
"GRAAAAAAAHHH!"
The sound bounced off every wall at once, layering over itself twice, and the lava pools rippled outward from the vibration.
"Roaring loud is the only thing you're good at." He looked up at the creature with a smirk and it spread out its wings before shooting toward him, clearing the distance in less than a few seconds and whipping one of its tails forward like a whip and despite all of that force, Koya caught it quite easily as a crater spread below his feet.
He took another step and the monster tried to whip at him with another tail but he extended his other hand out and grabbed that one before slamming the monster into the ground behind him with everything he had.
A crater spread outward from the whole den as the sheer impact of the monster hitting the ground sent web-like cracks everywhere.
The thirty-foot wingspan folded on impact. All five tails went in different directions at once as the body bounced once off the rock before settling.
He let go and the monster writhed across the ground.
"SKREEEEEEEEEEE!"
"The sounds that come out of this monster are annoying." Riffi said in his ear, upon noticing that the camera guy was at the top of the tunnel where they had jumped from and angling his camera at them.
He had made it that far already. "Should I kill it, Master?"
"No." Koya said while taking a step forward as the monster kept writhing on the ground, he was very sure that this was some kind of trap… There was no way a simple throw could cause so much damage. "It's probably faking."
As he took another step forward, the ground rumbled beneath him and he looked down… through the cracks, hot molten lava was bubbling from under and the Monster took that opportunity to swipe at him from the right with one of its tails but Koya leaned under it, dodging the strike.
"SSSSSSss!"
The monster extended its wings and soared off the ground as the bubbling continued underneath and he moved to the side immediately as the ground beneath him erupted into a geyser of lava.
"Oh." He said and began running to the flying monster in zigzags as geysers erupted behind and in front of him.
The floor was giving way in sections with each eruption opening a hole of red-hot lava where solid rock had been a second before.
The pattern was random… it just gave off a rumble a half-second before the ground split.
One erupted right at his feet and he flipped into another one but he went through it immediately with his back facing the geyser, coming out the other side without a look of pain on his face.
Riffi on the other hand bobbed her head as he kept running.
'I think I know why Master is dragging this out…' She thought, especially when he could use his mana and close the distance too like he did with Takeru by using Frame Skip to close the distance. 'He's aura-farming again.'
He had told her that the streamer made people see from the comfort of their homes and that meant the fight was being shown to a lot of people… so he was aura-farming it instead of finishing it quickly.
'Ha, Master, I've got you all figured out!' She thought while puffing her cheeks out in pride, he was so predictable.
However the Cat Familiar couldn't be that far from the truth.
'So essentially… I have to use and hone my fighting spirit more to increase it.' He thought while dismissing the System screen in front of him.
To rank up, like the System just said, he had to put both energies at ease by increasing them equally and while this was easy to say, Fighting Spirit was a bit harder to do.
Somehow it increased the more fights he used it in and the more he honed it into a perfect weapon so he really didn't have much of a choice.
'Alright, time to get serious.' He thought, using a sword covered with fighting spirit wouldn't have been that powerful against this monster and the only thing he had now was his fists.
A series of geysers erupted in front of him and he took a deep breath as he summoned Fighting Spirit and Riffi noticed this strange energy coming off him.
It wasn't mana and it didn't feel like mana too… it was denser and closer to the skin, like heat radiating off metal rather than light coming from a flame.
The air around him distorted slightly.
"Ma–"
He took a step on the ground and with his new powerful body empowered by Fighting Spirit, he turned into a blur, speeding past the Geysers and shooting into the air.
The Alpha Salamander noticed this and used both of its tails to smash him from the side while opening its mouth as well for a white flamethrower that shot outward to Koya with enough force to melt Metal itself.
Koya leaned through the air, flipping to the right and landing on one of the tails before running along it, dodging the Flamethrower and shooting forward like a bullet, landing a punch to the underbelly of the flying monster.
CRACK!!!!
The sound of bones breaking apart cracked everywhere as the flamethrower stopped coming out and instead the monster coughed out blood however that wasn't the end of it.
'I wonder if this will work.' He thought, he punched without using Fighting Spirit and just Mutant Strength while keeping the Fighting Spirit in his arm like a spring and then he released it… Several more cracks sounded, shattering more bones.
The first hit drove the air out of it while the second one, which was a delayed release, hit the same spot a fraction of a second later like a hammer striking something that was already breaking and the effect was completely different from just hitting harder.
He had landed two hits in one strike!
The Alpha Salamander lurched sideways in the air with one wing spasming and its flight pattern going ragged but Koya was already moving again.
Koya grabbed onto the skin and with a burst of Fighting Energy, he threw himself upward right below the jaw with a double kick as usual and the force nearly shattered it completely, making the monster throw its head back with a scream.
"SKREEEEEEEEEEE!"
The five tails thrashed in every direction at once, their white flames burning hotter as the pain spiked through it.
Before the force could take him completely to the ceiling, he gripped on one of the spikes on the monster's head, however it was tossing all around with whimpers while Koya gripped the scales so that he could flip over to the back of the neck and kill it.
'Now I just need t–' His thoughts paused as he accidentally broke the scales he was holding onto due to him exerting too much strength and the monster hit him completely, sending him upward with a force that rattled his bones.
"GRAAAAAAAHHH!"
It let out as the tails flicked even more and their white flames rose upward and then its mouth lit up, as Koya was mid-air, he wouldn't be able to dodge the strike at all.
A flamethrower of pure white flames came out from its mouth and consumed Koya completely, reaching even the ceiling as the heat continued to pour out… The Streamer with the camera staggered back at the sheer amount of heat, shielding his face with his free arm.
His chat was moving too fast to read as suddenly, two million people were watching a man get incinerated live.
The Flamethrower ended and instead of Koya's corpse coming from it, he emerged from the flames completely unharmed and gave the monster a right hook to the face, breaking its jaw completely and then as the monster flew, he bounced off it toward the wall.
The hook didn't just break the jaw however… the entire left side of the Alpha's face caved inward with the force of it, the obsidian scales fracturing and peeling away from the impact point as its blood hit the ceiling.
"Hhhhhhhnnnn…"
The jaw hung wrong and the monster's head tilted at an angle it hadn't experienced before… For a second it just drifted there.
Another crater spread through the wall beneath Koya's feet then he shot forward, slamming directly into the scaly spine with a kick empowered by Fighting Power.
The scales shattered and his kick landed, blasting the monster through the wall completely to a room where the other Salamanders had been gathered.
The wall came out in a single piece and the entire section punched clean through as the Alpha went through it like it wasn't there.
The Salamanders on the other side had about half a second to register what had just fallen into their room.
Koya slowly walked into the room and upon seeing their very own Alpha down on the ground on its very last leg, they scattered.
"You were a very interesting opponent." He looked at the monster though it could not see him since it was facing the wall, and even the flames on its tails were barely flickering.
The white heat that had been burning at their tips was almost completely out and what remained was a dull orange, guttering like a candle at the end of its wick.
One of the tails twitched once and went still.
"However, I have to take you to KCAC and exchange you for money so…"
Sure he was a millionaire but that didn't mean he wouldn't make more money, every bit counted.
'Which reminds me… Nami…'
He had barely had time to handle the girls on his hand… They were going to be a handful.
Too many things stacking up at once… he was a bit busier than he wanted to but he would try to take her on a date after Mid-terms.
Regardless he slammed his foot on the Salamander's head, putting it out of its whining misery then he lifted one of its heavy tails over his shoulder, dragging it out of the cavern.
"Right, someone was streaming us." He looked up at the guy that was holding his camera directly at them and then he gave the man a salute before walking off, carrying the corpse behind him.
The streamer stood there with the camera still rolling, watching Koya's back disappear into another tunnel with fifteen feet of Alpha Salamander dragging behind him like luggage.
Koya was briskly unaware of the kind of riot he had caused online.
