Chapter 116: Reunion of Hearts

"Ugh... sniff... ngh..." Damien was still crying, unable to say a word or return the smile.

He had promised himself that when Theo woke up, he would smile. But now... he couldn’t do anything, not even embrace him.

It was frustrating.

But... he wanted to hug him.

How long would he have to wait for that?

"Um, Teacher?" Theo’s voice interrupted his thoughts. "I think I can move a little now... how long do I need to stay still?"

Was Theo asking because he could sense Damien’s feelings, or did he share the same thoughts? Either way, he asked the question, and Damien felt his heart race.

Yes! Could he finally release the beast inside of him? Could it happen now?!

"You can’t just dump a massive amount of mana into an empty body like that, or it’ll break," the elf explained, his tone calm. "That light is here to adjust things. Once the mana in you has reached a point where it can absorb directly from the source, it will fade away on its own. Until then, you’ll need to wait."

So it would fade once it was done...

How much longer would it take?

Would it really take hours?

Damien felt like he might explode from the waiting!

As he stared at the light, waiting in anticipation, the beam of light slowly narrowed... and then, finally, it disappeared.

Ohhh!?

Damien’s heart leapt. Looking at the elf, he saw him nod approvingly. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Yes! It’s finally time!!

"Theo!!!"

"Damiey!!"

Damien couldn’t contain his excitement. He launched himself at Theo, still lying on the bed.

Theo, still lying there, caught him in his arms, and Damien embraced him with all his strength.

"Theo... I was so scared, I thought you were going to die..." Damien whispered, his voice full of emotion.

"I’m sorry..." Theo replied softly.

For a while, they simply stared into each other’s eyes.

Theo’s deep, ocean-like eyes locked at Damien’s eyes with tenderness.

Then, slowly, Damien closed the distance between them, savoring the sensation of Theo’s lips as they kissed, gently at first, then more deeply, as Damien sought to connect with him more intimately, extending his tongue, wanting to be closer.

At the center of their embrace, their lips meeting, Damien’s tongue met Theo’s.

It seemed like Theo wanted him just as much at that moment, and that made Damien feel happy.

"Hmm, this is truly an emotional reunion," came a voice from the sidelines.

Damien ignored the interruption. The only thing he was focused on was intertwining his tongue with Theo’s.

The wet, lewd sounds of their kissing echoed, but Damien found himself enjoying it more and more.

"By the way, how many months, no—how many years was it before Theo woke up?" came the voice again.

"About three hours," someone replied calmly.

The external voices didn’t register at all in Damien’s mind. He had no thoughts beyond continuing to kiss Theo deeply.

Theo with his soft and warm lips, felt like a dream, and Damien wasn’t ready to stop.

"Oh, and wasn’t the so-called ’real couple’ over there busy with the other young guy before?" The voice continued, almost teasing. "Oops, did I see something I shouldn’t have? Did I say that out loud? How careless of me."

"That’s the second one," someone remarked indifferently.

"...What a bitch," the voice muttered again.

But Damien wasn’t listening.

He was too absorbed in his kiss with Theo, and neither of them cared about the comments from the elf.

They continued kissing, lost in each other, until they were ready to stop.

...

Damien was satisfied.

After enjoying their kiss to the fullest, he now lay beside Theo, who had propped himself up slightly on the bed.

Theo was awake, and Damien was incredibly pleased with that.

"That’s really incredible," Theo said, sounding almost surprised. "I can feel my mana returning just from being close to you, Damien. This is the first time I’ve experienced something like this. It’s... even a little pleasant."

"Hmm, while it’s not quite the same for us, someone with the mana affinity of Theo can probably feel it as well," the elf added.

Damien wasn’t sure what that meant, but if it felt good, he was happy to stay close.

"And there’s no terrible discomfort that usually follows mana depletion," Theo continued, "It’s really surprising how effective this is."

"The discomfort happens when mana falls below a tenth of its full capacity," the elf explained. "But since we adjusted and transferred the little b*tch’s mana while you were unconscious, you bypassed that stage, so no discomfort should occur. But if you try to absorb the little b*tch’s mana directly while you are in discomfort, it could break you, so be cautious."

Damien nodded, taking in the advice. He made a mental note to avoid those who had too little mana.

By the way, what did the elf mean by "little b*tch"?

"I understand," Theo said. "Thank you, Teacher, Sebas, Leonide. Thank you for everything you did for me."

Theo bowed his head to each person in turn.

"Damien, thanks to you as well," he added, turning his head to Damien and bowing deeply. "I’m sorry for making you worried."

Damien gently ruffled Theo’s head, smiling.

"I’m just glad you woke up safely."

"...Aren’t you mad?" Theo looked up at Damien with a worried expression, his eyes searching.

Damien smiled softly. It reminded him of how his younger brother used to look when he got caught in a prank.

"I just had the same conversation with Leonide," Damien said, recalling the recent discussion. "All I can say is... I love you, too."

Damien gave Theo, who looked puzzled, a light kiss and said, "We’ll talk later."

If Damien were in Theo’s shoes, he’d probably do the same, so he couldn’t really get mad. Even after everything that had happened... even after realizing how much his heart had ached and worried about Theo’s well-being, Damien knew that if the roles were reversed, he wouldn’t hesitate. He imagined Theo would do the same.
