"She invited me here because she is confident about luring me out. That means she’s most likely stronger than me physically. Kailen deployed his shadow hounds to start scouting the whole outpost.

With his elemental mirroring activated, he could see through the universe energy pathways of everyone at the base.

There were no abnormal signatures—no poisons were detected so far in the beings of anyone at the base.

Kailen observed like a satellite, holed up in his room for days.

What was she playing at?

Also, she wanted him to show up, right?

Why was she not making an appearance?

Kailen was definitely aware that she was most likely aware that he had arrived.

What was she waiting for?

Kailen smiled. She wanted to intimidate him psychologically with her absence, break him, let him lose composure, overthink.

The moment the person entered the complex, Kailen looked at the top of the building through the eyes of the shadow creature.

An ominous feeling crept up in Kailen’s heart.

At that moment, booming sounds resounded, and Kailen saw and heard a loud explosion ripple outwards.

The building was completely destroyed.

As commotion started and operatives rushed towards the place alongside the captain, Kailen’s brow furrowed.

"Golden Finger, kindly help me identify anyone who is a vimodial contractor."

"Way to interrupt my movie," the Time Dilation Artifact snorted.

Kailen took it as a yes.

"The next unit is most likely the food supply unit or the runesmith unit. Or that’s what she wants me to think. She’s definitely heading towards the... no... she wants me to think she’s not heading towards either of the two places."

Kailen remembered how he had personally done something similar in the just-ended simulation: make your enemies think they had figured you out, while you were one step ahead of them.

Quickly, the shadow hounds headed towards the runesmith complex and the food supply complex.

Two different individuals with completely different appearances could be seen headed, each to the two different places.

Kailen observed both individuals at the two different places through the eyes of the shadow hounds.

"They have the same universe energy pathways although they look different. Golden Finger..."

"Yes, they are both vimodial contractors."

Kailen came to a terrifying realization.

He quickly let the shadow hounds eliminate the two vimodial contractors with some of his poisons.

"Same universe energy pathways. It’s the same person. It’s her.

She has some sort of cloning ability. With the cloning ability, she is most likely able to change the appearance of clones and let them blend in the environment without even being present.

Her main body is most likely somewhere else observing what they are doing through her clones, just like I am observing things through the eyes of her shadow creatures.

She’s doing this to psychologically intimidate me.

She’s having fun."

Kailen deduced quickly, calm, not intimidated. But amused.

"How many more of her clones are present here? How many more of them have blended in the environment, and how many more can she create? The key is not to underestimate or overestimate her. That could lead to misjudgment and she can play me," Kailen’s eyes grew calmer.

"Considering the fact that she’s confident in her physical strength, her main body would make an appearance soon."

Meanwhile, at the same time, the female vimodial contractor was seated on a mountainous peak in an unknown location.

His eyes landed on a figure, a technician working on a spaceship, assisted by a robot.

He stared longer at the technician, for more than a few seconds, then his figure darted away.

"I need a terrain, a dangerous one."

He sent the shadow hounds to scan regions outwards far away from the base.

Very soon, a smile tugged at the edge of his lips, suddenly.

His eyes glinted with mysterious light. Then he flew out of the base.

He did not mask himself. He did not use a spaceship.

Somewhere in the base, a technician’s eyes glinted with amusement.

"He was able to deduce I am physically stronger than him. But running is a wrong move. He didn’t mask his departure, which means he’s confident I’m yet to arrive. Perfect. Let’s make him think he’s escaping."

She was waiting patiently, working on a spaceship, completely blending in as if she was just an engineer operative at the outpost.

As for Kailen, he simply nodded as his eyes flashed mysteriously.

Everything was perfect.

When he arrived, he saw the universe’s energy in the region was distorted, as if it was collapsing inwards.

Yet, to the eye without his elemental mirroring, the region was completely normal.
