Chapter 466: Chapter 466.Parasites

"Whoever was his lieutenant, step out."

The moment Kailen spoke, the female lieutenant stepped out nervously.

The vampire had never felt such fear.

This guy had killed commander Ascorn with just a single attack.

He was very powerful.

Since their commander was dead, the only thing they could do was comply. These were the rules of war.

"What other plans do you have concerning Xorvania. Send it to me via thought transmission."

The vampire lieutenant mused inwardly, "He’s gonna let us go after I spill the beans right?" Her survival instincts had kicked in. She didn’t want to die.

Quickly, she sent the information Kailen needed to him via thought transmission.

A glint of realization flashed through Kailen’s eyez as he listened.

When he was done, he simply turned around to walk away.

Silence ensued for a moment.

The vampire elite army thought he was letting them go.

However, their dying screams, suddenly echoed from behind Kailen as he walked away with his hands in his pockets.

***

Kailen knew the next step he had to take from now.

Kailen headed back to Xorvania.

The moment he arrived near the planet, he was surprised to see that there were a group of people waiting for his arrival.

He was currently at the outer perimeter of the planet.

"We greet the Red Commander."

Kailen did not seem to care about these pleasantries. But he could read the emotions on their faces using emotional resonance.

"This level of loyalty and respect, can only be given to someone who has defended a city for a while and earned the loyalty of soldiers," Kailen mused inwardly.

Kailen simply nodded.

"What’s the situation like?" He asked directly.

The subordinate nodded and replied, "After your tactical defeat of the vampires on the moon, the citizens have mixed feelings about the situation. Some are saying it was cruel and unfair to sacrifice the soldiers in the war. Others are also saying you had no other choice. That, their death was a necessary sacrifice for the victory you earned."

Kailen nodded calmly at the words of the subordinate.

He mused inwardly, "It looks like the battle on the moon was broadcasted to the citizens. Makes sense with the way I was received after the battle."

The subordinate studied the reaction of her superior. This man was not bothered in the least what the people thought? What if it led to an uprising?

"If they have a problem, they can come find me. Take me to base."

His voice had one meaning. Any citizen that thought his methods were wrong, was free to find him, kill him and become the commander.

Of course, that’s if they had the power to do so.

Kailen knew it was not possible. The moment he landed on the planet, he had activated his elemental mirroring and shadow sense, and had scanned through the whole planet. It was not a large planet, and was roughly the size of earth. So, Kailen could literally scan the energy signatures of everyone on the planet.

Currently, the strongest persons here were at the rank 7 beginner stage galactic level.

They were currently at the military base on the planet.

"What happened to the higher ups here?"

Kailen was certain something was wrong.

There was no way the strongest people here were supposed to be at the rank 7 beginner stage galactic level.

The guy who was his subordinate in the war, was a rank 7 beginner stage galactic level lifeform.

There was no way the strongest people, who were probably responsible for issuing missions or something in the war, were at that level.

This was why he had asked this question.

The subordinate replied to him, "They all died in active combat, protecting the cities on the planet from the last attempted invasion of the vampires. They managed to push the vampires back, but at the cost of their lives.

There is only one remaining human stronghold left on the planet."

Kailen nodded in understanding.

He mused inwardly at her last statement, "No wonder during my brief scan on the planet, I figured out the planet is literally full of destroyed regions and wastelands."

His eyes narrowed lightly as he thought, "This means that I’m now the commander in chief here. Perfect, will make executing my plans easier and smoother."

He wouldn’t have to enforce any protocols of reporting to any higher ups who may disagree with his plans.

As they flew towards the base, Kailen observed the city. It didn’t look futuristic like the civilisations in the real world. The city looked extremely futuristic, much to his shock, just like the modern era he was originally from.

Hover vehicles, sleek tall buildings and neon lights amongst others. Humans moving around.

"It seems the olden Era was not as back watered as I thought it would be," Kailen thought.

They also passed forests full of flora and fauna.

The resources here were really abundant.

Finally, they arrived at the base.

"Call the leaders," Kailen ordered.

"Sir."

Kailen stood before the leaders.

These were the guys he had seen to be at the rank 7 beginner stage galactic level.

There were about thirty of them.

They stared at the red Commander with fear.

What he did on the battlefield earlier was extremely shocking.

As for Kailen, there was a reason why he had summoned them here.

The vampire lieutenant had given him a very important piece of information.

"Step forward." He spoke, voice calm, as he pointed towards a particular operative.

The operative stepped forward, acting all curious and frightened.

"Drop the charade."

The operatives didn’t understand what the Red Commander meant.

What was going on?

What had the Operative Prince done?

"Sir, I don’t under-"

Before the Operative finished speaking, an arrow coated with poison penetrated his head from behind.

His deep red blood splurged all over.

The operatives stared at the Red Commander in shock.

What the hell was going on?

Why did he have to kill the operative for no reason?

As they stared at the corpse of operative Prince, they got their answers.

The skin of the operative started morphing. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

The head changed into something else.

The eyes, formerly blue, were now crimson, even the hair color had changed. The body also morphed into the physical features of a different person.

Also the color of the blood, it was deep red.

He was a vampire spy.

And the Red Commander had discovered it.

Kailen stared at the operatives and sighed.

These guys were really fucked.

The vampire spy Kailen had just killed, according to the information the vampire lieutenant had given him, had infiltrated the human ranks and disguised himself as a cook.

He had planted permanent parasitic worms into their bodies through their meals. Permanent parasitic worms meant that the worms could not be extracted from their beings. Not even the person who planted them into their beings could get rid of it.

They were fucked. In about thirty seconds, the worms will completely take control of their faculties and they would turn into mindless fuckers who will slaughter one another.

Kailen turned to leave as they stared at him to them.

He didn’t say anything to them.

"Do it, hound 3."

The shadow hound’s veiled figure flashed across the room as they died the same way the vampire spy had died.

There were no screams of death, only silence and bodies falling lifelessly on the ground.

Kailen was pressed for time.

He didn’t have the time to watch them fight and kill each other when the parasitic worms will take over their beings.

A vampire army would be arriving in a month’s time and he only had a month to prepare.
