Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 89: Mating Season 5

Audrey looked up at the sky and realized that the walk out of the forest had sidetracked her from checking the time.

The whole place was getting dark already as night approached, she knew she had to return to the garden very soon, the moon was starting to appear in the sky and she had to leave before it was fully out.

’Honestly, I don’t see a point of you running,’ Selena suddenly spoke in her head.

"We’ll see," Audrey whispered.

"You’re... not coming?" Maya asked when she noticed that Audrey had stopped walking with them.

"Yes. You guys go ahead," Audrey replied.

Maya looked at Sandra, Alex, and Maria, silently asking them to help convince Audrey to come with them but they slowly shook their heads at her.

Maya sighed and walked back to Audrey.

"Why?" She was almost crying as she questioned Audrey.

"Maya-"

"You don’t want to be my mate?" Maya asked anxiously, holding onto Audrey’s hand in desperation.

"Calm down, Maya, there’s a lot of reasons why I can’t accept your request," Audrey sighed, thinking about how she would easily let Maya down.

"I don’t care about anything, Audrey, I can accept you with any condition you’ll set," Maya pleaded.

"Maya!" Stacy called angrily.

Everyone turned to her, surprised by her outburst.

"Grow up and learn to accept rejection when faced with one. Now, stop pestering her and move forward. Your unlucky mate is out there somewhere waiting for you," Stacy flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked ahead.

"Is it true?" Maya asked in a whisper.

"I’m sorry, Maya, you never gave me a chance to reply. The truth is that I already have a mate, Maya. I can’t be with you. Other reasons I’ll explain later to you," Audrey replied softly, knowing she was hurting Maya with every word she spoke at that moment.

"I see," Maya sniffed, and turned away from Audrey.

Audrey didn’t stop her when she started walking away from her. She didn’t know what else to tell her and she knew that consoling her in that condition would hurt her the more.

"She’ll be alright," Lawrence said to Audrey.

He had noticed the worried look on Audrey’s face, and he knew Audrey only saw Maya as her little niece, and hurting her in this manner would hurt her too.

"Take care of her," Audrey said to Lawrence.

Lawrence nodded in assurance.

"I have to go guys, I’ll see you guys tomorrow. Make sure you all get laid tonight, clear those webs out," Audrey said mischievously.

"Audrey!" Sandra screamed her name, her cheeks reddening as she felt Lawrence’s gaze on her.

She sent Audrey a death glare before heading to the field.

"I won’t disappoint you, my dear cousin, I’ll surely get laid," Maria said confidently, sending Audrey a smile.

"That’s the spirit," Audrey raised her hands and gave her a thumbs up.

"Come on, champs, let’s go get ready to get laid," Maria put her hands around Lawrence’s and Alex’s shoulders, turned them around towards the field, and gently urged them forward.

"It would’ve been me getting her laid-Ouch!" Alex put his hand behind his head as Maria slapped him hard on the back of his head.

"You’re not allowed to have such thoughts about her," Maria shunned.

"Come on, I was just kidding!" Alex pouted.

Lawrence snorted, gaining a glare from Alex.

Audrey chuckled as she witnessed what was happening between her friends.

"Bye, guys!" With one last wave, she turned around and walked back into the forest.

As they walked closer to the field, they saw Sandra standing with Stacy and they also saw Maya standing far away from them, completely turning away from them. She was obviously still angry with Stacy.

They were standing behind the huge crowd of wolves, it was hard for them to see what was going on up in the front.

"Hey, what’s going on?" Alex asked Sandra as they came and stood beside her.

"I think they’re trying to set up a bonfire and some canopy tents around the field," Sandra replied, looking around the field.

Maria walked behind Alex and suddenly placed her hands behind his shoulders, using him to lift herself off the ground, trying to see what was happening around the field.

"Hey!" Alex shrugged Maria’s hands off his shoulders, eyeing her up and down.

"Oh, chill," Maria waved him off in a dismissive manner.

"I was just trying to see what was going on in the center of the field," Maria said to Alex.

"And..." Alex asked.

"Hmm, now you want to know. Well, I just saw some Baberque grill stands and some propane stoves," Maria shrugged.

"I guess we’ll be having a feast tonight," Sandra said with beam.

She has successfully ignored Lawrence since he arrived. She planned to ignore him for the rest of the night too, she wasn’t about to make a fool out of herself like the last time.

Maria was eager to witness a full moon for the first time in her life. She couldn’t wait for her mate to find her under the full and radiant moon. She was so eager to witness the zapping sexual tension from the mate bond that would be intensified under the moonlight.

She played different erotic scenes in her head as she readied her mind to have sex with her eye for the first time.

In front of the field, Alpha Lake stood with Andrew and Alpha Sebastian, monitoring how everything was going around the field.

He wanted to make sure that everyone would have something to eat after they’d returned with their newly found mates. He didn’t want to disappoint the visiting wolves, his pack currently harbored all the mate-less werewolves from all the Packs in the States, he wouldn’t want to give them a bad experience.

But deep down, he also wanted to impress his mate.

Thinking about his mate, his mind instantly went to Catherine(Audrey). He was very sure that she was his mate, but since the moment she couldn’t give him a definite answer about her feelings for him, he doubted if she was really his mate or if he had unconsciously fallen in love with her because she looked like Audrey who he was a hundred percent sure was his mate from the moment he set his eyes on the little girl years ago.

Whatever it was, this night would solve all the mysteries.

He wished he would be able to scent that addicting smell he scented a year ago on the forest border.

"Alpha," Adeline suddenly called behind Alpha Lake.

"Adeline?" Alpha Lake turned to shortly acknowledge her before he returned his face to the field, continuing his monitoring and his search... his search for Audrey.

He’s been ignoring her since the incident, and if he was being honest with himself, he felt like he was punishing himself instead.

Adeline noticed that Alpha Lake wasn’t paying her any attention and decided to walk around and stand in front of him.

Alpha Sebastian and Andrew exchanged a look between themselves. They knew Adeline hadn’t given up on Alpha Lake and this was her trying to find a way to seduce him today.

They knew she was aware that wolves, especially alpha wolves were highly sexual during a full moon, and if they didn’t have a strong will, they would easily fall for a willing female if they hadn’t found their destined mate.

"Can I help with anything, Alpha?" Adeline asked in her softest voice.

"Yes, go over there and help with the bonfire," Andrew suggested to her, not allowing Alpha Lake to speak because he knew he wouldn’t ask her for anything.

He pointed her over to the center of the field where some people were busy propping the bonfire.

"Um...sure, see you later, Alpha Lake," Adeline said and reluctantly walked away from them.

As she turned away from them, her smile immediately dropped from her face. She swore within her to do everything possible tonight to make sure that Alpha Lake never mated with Audrey.

It must be her, or no one else!

Alpha Lake only gave her a subtle nod and continued staring into space.

"Thank you," Alpha Lake said to Andrew.

"You’re welcome, Alpha," Andrew replied with a slight bow.

The moon was slowly starting to emerge up in the sky, casting its lights on the eager werewolves.

Alpha Lake kept thinking about how his night was going to play out. Somewhere in his mind, he wondered where Audrey was, and he wondered what he would do if she finally felt the mate bond for him tonight.

"Where’s Catherine?" Alpha Sebastian asked, looking around the field for Audrey.

He already knew that he wasn’t going to be the one mating Audrey tonight, Andrew had earlier informed him about Audrey and Alpha Lake’s relationship, he was just trying to see how Alpha Lake would react to him mentioning Audrey’s name.

"I wouldn’t know," Alpha Lake replied coldly, his voice strong and his face emotionless.

Andrew noted all those features on him, and a thought came to his mind. He decided that; by the end of the night, if Alpha Lake ended up rejecting Audrey because he found out her real identity, he’d step in and claim Audrey for himself.

He was giving him the respect of an Alpha king by stepping down for him to have Audrey, but if he ended up rejecting her, then he’d have no other choice than to claim her as his.

Andrew sent Alpha Sebastian a questioning look. He didn’t expect him to ask Alpha Lake about Aydrey after telling him their status.

Alpha Lake checked his phone and saw that it was 11 O’clock already. It was time he sent them into the forests.

"Everyone, listen!" His voice boomed with Alpha command, instantly inducing silence in the crowd.

"Today, we are all gathered for the sacred full moon celebration! And we all hope that this search will lead us to find our other half in this search!" Alpha Lake spoke with authority as he slowly walked back and forth in front of the field, his head held high.

"Yeee!!" The wolves all choruses in sync.

Everyone watched him with admiration in their eyes, especially the mate-less she wolfs all looked at him dreamily, secretly wishing that one of them would end up snatching that prestigious position that had been vacant for so long by becoming his mate and the Luna of the mighty Grey Blood Pack.

"May the moon goddess guide us all to the right person! Let the search begin!" Alpha Lake roared in a powerful voice.

At his final command, the wolves all howled loudly, and in the next second, they all started to sprint toward the direction of the forest.

Clothes were torn as people transformed into their wolves as they ran into the forest.
