Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 82: Wolf Vaccine
"Sit, Catherine," Alpha Lake patted the seat next to him.
Audrey reluctantly lowered herself beside him.
"So, Catherine, don’t you want to give your boss what he’s always wanted?" Alpha asked, turning the laptop towards Audrey and showing her video of Russell.
Audrey recognized the location immediately, it was in front of Mr. Russell’s company. But what surprised her was the indication of the live video at the upper left corner of the screen.
"Is that..." Audrey didn’t know what to ask.
"Yes, that’s a live video, watch and see who you’re handsome boss really is," Alpha Lake said, sarcasm lacing his voice.
Audrey watched as Russell went into his building, immediately, the recording switched, showing from inside the building.
Audrey watched with surprise as Mr. Russell took the elevator, but instead of going up, the elevator went down.
"Wow," She said, in shock to realize that the elevator she had used to go up to her office for a whole year also led to a hidden spot underground.
"Send him a text, Catherine, send him this address and tell him we’ll be offloading the next shipment next week, on Tuesday," Alpha Lake ordered. He slid a paper to Audrey, an indescribable look masking his face.
Audrey typed the message and sent it to her boss.
She watched as the message got to Mr. Russell the moment the elevator came to a stop.
Audrey watched with curiosity as Mr. Russell read the message, a sinister smile appearing on his face.
"Send yours, Philip," Alpha Lake ordered.
"Yes, Alpha," Philip responded and fished out his phone from his pocket.
"Um, if he’s going to send the same message within the short interval, I think he’ll grow suspicious," Audrey softly shipped in.
"No, he’ll be sending this," Alpha Lake showed Audrey a video of some men offloading the boxes from the truck that had just arrived when they got here.
"This is what he wants," Alpha Lake slid to the next video.
Audrey couldn’t believe her eyes. The next video showed when a few of the boxes were opened, some boxes were filled with various types of guns and explosions, while some were filled with white powdery substances and safely contained in a ziplock bag.
Audrey couldn’t believe her eyes. She never knew Alpha had the source and permission to trade all that dangerous stuff, was he selling it to the wrong people? And what was that? Coke?
Audrey had a lot of questions but she didn’t know how to ask them.
"What do you believe?" Alpha Lake asked, watching the screen as Mr. Russell was still walking through a very dark passageway. A huge satisfied smile on his face as he watched the video Philip had just sent him.
"Huh?" Audrey asked, confused.
What does he mean by what she believes?
"I see the crease on your forehead, Catherine, and I understand. Anyone who sees the video would probably think the same thing," He said, not taking his eyes off the screen.
Audrey finally understood what he meant. He was asking her if she believed those things were Coke or something else.
Well, the fact that he could own billions of arms already made her skeptical about the other stuff. If he could own such dangerous arms, he could as well deal drugs, they went hand in hand.
"So, answer me honestly, Catherine," Alpha Lake said.
Honestly? She thought about how to reply for a while before speaking.
"I think they’re drugs. Hundred percent pure and refined Coke," Audrey answered, putting a finger on her chin like she was thinking about what she had just said.
She glared at Philip behind her when she heard Hun chuckle.
"Sorry," He apologized and shut up immediately.
"Wrong. But thanks for your honest answer, I would have distrusted you if you answered otherwise," He softly parted Audrey’s thigh.
Audrey softly sighed from the contact, it was a good sign, it meant he wasn’t keeping his distance anymore. But didn’t she want him to?
"Then, what is the white substance?" She asked curiously.
"Curiosity killed the cat, Kitten," He patted her head and turned her face to the screen.
"Don’t miss out on the best part," He whispered beside her ear.
Audrey shivered, his breathing against her ear sent spiraling waves of desire shooting through her cell.
She forced herself to focus on the screen. What was wrong with her these days? She was getting hornier by the day.
She saw Mr. Russell push a brown door open and quickly walked in as if he didn’t want anyone to see him doing so.
Again, the video switched to show what seemed to be a medium-sized laboratory.
Green, purple, red, blue, and all other colored liquids were all inside different containers; boiling tubes, conical flasks, and test tubes, depending on their volumes.
They were all placed across the four long tables inside the laboratory, boiling over Bunsen burners.
Audrey narrowed her eyes at the video.
What sick stuff was her boss up to?
"Come out, Rein," Audrey heard Russell’s command but she didn’t see any other person in that lab with him.
"Who is he talking- who is he?" Audrey changed her question immediately when she saw a bony-looking young man in a lab coat walk out of the shadowed corner.
Audrey noticed the silver chain around the man’s neck as he walked out with an unsteady gait.
"He’s Rein, from Rome. A werewolf, a scientist, and my good friend," Alpha Lake introduced the man on the video to Audrey.
"Wait, so... Russell is aware of the existence of werewolves?" Audrey asked, not believing how naive she’d been in believing that Russell had no idea about werewolves.
Did he know she was one too?
Audrey had doubts now, she needed to find out if he knew she was also a werewolf. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
He’s been playing her all along. She felt stupid.
"Hello, darling," Mr. Russell said nastily.
"Darling?" Audrey couldn’t help but ask.
She just realized that things were happening around her that she wasn’t aware of, seems like she isn’t the only one with secrets.
"How do you think we got this video set up?" Alpha Lake asked Audrey, chuckling lightly.
"Oh," Was the only sound Audrey could make as she watched Mr. Russell walk up to Rein and forcefully kiss him.
Her eyes widened like saucers in disbelief. Her boss was gay?! She never imagined!
"Wha- How did Rein end up there?" Audrey asked with a slight frown.
She felt intense anger and hatred build up within her for her boss as she watched on.
Mr. Russell sure knew what he was doing when he chained Rein with a silver chain, he would never have had the courage to treat him this way without it.
"Rein is Russell’s mate," Alpha Lake simply said.
"What?!" Audrey almost fell off the chair in shock.
"They met at an event in Texas, out of love and the mate bond, Rein confessed his feelings to Russell," Alpha Lake explained calmly.
"Mr. Russell refused at first, but when he realized that Rein was a werewolf, his evil nature kicked in. He asked Rein everything about the werewolves, and, Rein, hopelessly in love, told him everything there was to know about us," Alpha Lake continued.
"Don’t look at my face, Kitten, look at the screen," Alpha Lake pointed to the screen.
Audrey saw as Mr. Russell roughly pushed Rein towards a double-doored fridge.
"Open it, you idiot," Mr. Russell said, looking like a maniac at that moment.
Audrey couldn’t believe this was the same person she had known and worked for for a year.
"What’s that?" Audrey asked as Rein struggled to unlock the fridge with his fingerprint.
When Rein succeeded, he sluggishly retrieved a small bottle from the fridge, the bottle contained a purple-colored liquid.
"What’s he going to do with that?" Audrey asked, tapping her leg anxiously on the floor.
She felt like going over there and showing Mr. Russell how badly a person can be treated.
"That; is supposed to be a wolf vaccine. Wolves, just like vampires can convert humans, willing humans, through the right vaccination, and, or continuous biting of the skin intermediately, for a whole month, but the latter is a more painful process of course," Alpha Lake explained.
"Russell here chose the vaccination method. He wants to become an Alpha wolf, take over my companies, and last but not least, take over my Pack too," Alpha Lake smiled mischievously.
"But I’ve been ahead of him for two years now. Rein was residing in one of my hotels at that time, and I’d just finished visiting him when came to visit too. Rein had just told me all Russell planned to do, and he planned to reject the idea," Alpha Lake tapped his fingers on the table.
"But when Rein rejected Russell’s idea, Russell concealed his anger and pretended to ask Rein to follow him to his company for some errand, and when he got there, he locked him up," Alpha Lake concluded.
"So, how was he able to install the secret cameras if he was locked up on the first day?" Audrey’s brain cells were struggling to put every piece of the puzzle together.
"I asked him to do it a week after he met Russell. The laboratory was initially for making wines, Rein had confessed to me that Russell asked him to make him synthetic wines that would be stronger than mine. Rein knew it’d be dangerous, so he told me, and I advised him to put a camera there for evidence, in case Russell was to ever force him against his will," Alpha Lake patted Audrey’s thigh again.
"Enough question, watch him sleep," Alpha Lake said with a chuckle as he watched the screen.
Audrey had one more question though. She furrowed her brows as she saw Russell fall to the ground after getting injected with the purple content of the small bottle.
"Yes, Catherine, one more question?" Alpha Lake gently removed her finger from her mouth.
He knew she was anxious and extremely curious.
"If the content of that bottle was supposed to be a wolf-turning vaccine, then, what was it now?" Audrey asked with a small frown.
"Ah, just a colored sedative," Alpha Lake shrugged.
"What?!" Audrey asked incredulously.
Philip once again, chuckled uncontrollably behind her.
