Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 70: Visitors And The Blonde Guy
Audrey held Sandra’s sweaty palm to calm her down as the bus neared.
"Everyone! Listen!" Alpha Lake’s voice boomed all over the field.
Audrey’s attention was instantly taken away from the stopping bus and towards the front of the field.
"You shall be pairing with visitors today! The full moon is nearing and this is an opportunity to get familiar with each other," Alpha Lake commanded.
Audrey couldn’t help but stare at Alpha Lake as he stood confidently in front of his Pack.
She thought of it and concluded that what he said made sense, he was trying to familiarize the mateless wolves with each other, so that if they happened to find each other as mates during the full moon, then they wouldn’t be strangers anymore.
"He’s here!" Sandra tugged on Audrey’s shirt which was tied to her waist.
"Where?" Audrey removed his eye from her hot and sexy target.
Sandra subtly pointed to their left.
Audrey and Alex followed her hand and saw a tall guy with blonde hair backing them, with his hands around a girl’s shoulder.
"Oh, the nerve!" Audrey marched forward but was instantly held back by the waist by Sandra.
"What are you planning to do?" Sandra asked, her eyes widened in fear.
"To kill him of course," Audrey said in a ’duh’ tone.
"But you promised!" Sandra said aggravatedly.
"But can’t you see? He had the nerve to bring his so-called fiancé here, fully knowing you’ll see them together," Alex added angrily.
"No! You both promised! You have to keep to your words!" Sandra scoled loudly, frowning from Audrey to Alex.
"Calm down, Sandy, we’re joking...kinda," Alex murmured the last part.
"Are you?" Sandra asked skeptically, still holding Audrey tightly by the waist.
"Well, maybe," Audrey smiled mischievously.
"Come on, Audrey," Sandra shook her lightly.
"Okay, okay, I just wanted to ask him to partner with me in the fight," Audrey raised her hands in surrender to her friend.
"You’re not gonna mistakenly kill him during practice?" Sandra narrowed her eyes at Audrey.
She didn’t trust her on this.
"I double promise," Audrey raised her index and middle finger in front of Sandra, showing her she was serious about the double promise.
"Ugh, fine. Please don’t hurt him," Sandra slowly released her.
"I won’t," Audrey replied before walking towards the blonde guy.
She meant it when she promised not to hurt the blonde guy, she knew hurting him would automatically hurt her friend and she never wanted to be the cause of her friend’s pain.
She wouldn’t go back on her words.
As she approached, she noticed the girl who was standing beside the blonde guy was nowhere to be seen.
"Hello," Audrey tapped the guy’s shoulder, and she may or may not have mistakenly read his mind for a second.
But, what she saw shocked her.
’Was this dude crazy?’ She thought.
Images of Sandra’s tear-stained face were all she saw, and she saw a bit of a guy crying in a dark room, but she wasn’t sure because the blonde guy quickly moved away from her touch.
"Um, Hey," The blonde guy replied as he turned to see who had touched him.
Audrey stared at his face, he was handsome. Ocean blue eyes and a fine-cut jawline with a straight nose. No wonder her friend couldn’t get over him.
But she was confused, what she saw when she touched him showed that he regretted the decision he made with Sandra, and has been haunted by the incident since then, he even cried secretly.
So, why did he have to reject her if he felt this much for her?
"I’m Catherine," Audrey offered him a handshake.
"And you’re a human," He stated as he shook Audrey’s hands.
"Wow! How’d you know!" Audrey faked surprise.
"I’m Lawrence. Knock it off, you’re not fooling me," Lawrence chuckled at Audrey’s fake acting.
"Oh, shoot, I thought I sold it out well," Audrey smiled.
"Nah, not buying it," Lawrence replied.
They both laughed at their lousy jokes.
From the little period she’s spent with Lawrence, she discovered he wasn’t at all a bad guy. But she couldn’t help but wonder why he did that Sandra.
"So-"
"Do you have a partner for the fight?" Lawrence asked.
Audrey smiled triumphantly. She was just about to ask him the same thing.
"Nope, most definitely do not have a single partner for the fight," Audrey smiled sweetly at him.
"Then you’ve just found yourself the most handsome partner, and don’t worry, human, I’ll go easy on you," Lawrence said proudly.
"Oh, please, dear werewolf, give it your all, do not hold back," Audrey smirked at him.
"You said it," Lawrence pointed at Audrey.
The wind was picking up as wolves quickly moved around, hooking up with their partners.
"Everyone! This is no practice! Fight like you’re faced with death!" Alpha Lake growled.
"Yee!!" The crowd roared in agreement.
"Test your partner’s endurance, push their limits, test their skill...all of it. Test their reflex and study their moves, engrave it in your minds, for no one knows what the enemies are capable of!" Alpha Make commanded.
"Yes, Alpha!" The crowd roared once more.
"You only win if you’re able to draw the first blood, Fight!" He roared to the crowd.
Roars, stumping of feet, and the sounds of weapons clashing together were heard in the field filled with fighting wolves.
Alpha Lake searched the crowd for someone, and when he found her, his eyes darkened in anger and... jealousy.
Audrey currently had Lawrence in a headlock, whispering something to his ear.
"Alpha, Adeline will be here in a minute," Andrew spoke beside him.
Andrew followed the direction of the Alpha’s sight and saw whom he’d been staring at.
He saw how Lawrence tried to maneuver Audrey to the floor but Audrey ended up flipping him two times in the air and hitting him hard on the floor!
He smiled to himself, he knew there was more to Audrey than she told them, but he was willing to wait until she was ready.
He looked at Alpha Lake and found him staring hard at Audrey with a deep frown on his face, he felt the presence of his wolf grow stronger as he stared longer.
He quickly remembered the discussion he had with Alpha Sebastian yesterday after they had returned from the farmhouse.
They noticed the unusual closeness between Audrey and Alpha Lake, and they wondered if their Alpha might have grown feelings for Audrey.
But it baffled him that he could build feelings for her, even though he was unaware of Audrey’s identity, but the fact that to him, she looked like the girl he hated should be enough to make him not fall in love with her.
If their observation was true, then they either had to up their game with Audrey or just back down. The latter was the most likely option.
"More speed, William!" Alpha Lake suddenly barked at a boy in front of him.
Andrew was taken aback by the sudden command from the Alpha.
Andrew didn’t know why, but he felt something off from their Alpha.
Alpha Lake was just about to move toward Audrey’s direction when someone grabbed his hand from behind. Without looking he already knew who it was.
"Alpha, I’m here!" Adeline panted heavily from the run she did to get there.
"Andrew, you can spar with her first," Alpha Lake made to move away from her grasp but she held on tightly.
She noticed the direction he wanted to walk and just like she had expected, Audrey was there.
Her jealousy had reached its brim.
She felt humiliated once again because of Audrey.
Inside the field, everyone was busy trying their best to defeat their opponents, Sandra and Alex were currently dodging attacks from each other’s spears.
"Hyah!" Sandra drove her spear toward Alex’s heart but he used his spear to defend himself.
Sandra came at him immediately, raising her spear the highest her hands could lift and bringing it down straight towards Alex’s head.
"Fuck you, Sandy!" Alex quickly raised the spear above his head with his two hands.
"Ugh! You really want to kill me?" He asked Sandra, panting.
The position made them come face to face with each other, allowing them to talk without being caught.
"No, but, don’t you think they look too close for people who just got to know each other a few minutes ago?" Sandra asked, breathing heavily.
They turned their head in unison to Audrey’s and Lawrence’s direction; the duo seemed to be in a serious fight but a closer look at them and you would discover there was an air of friendship around them.
"Yeah... weird- Ugh!" Alex screamed painfully as Sandra used his moment of weakness to scratch his arm with the sharp end of her spear.
"Fall out, Alex! Never let your guard down in a battle, no matter what!" Andrew spoke loudly.
"You! You tricked me," Alex grumbled as he walked past Sandra who wore a victorious smirk on her face.
Alex was shocked to see an angry-looking Alpha walking past the crowd and head to Audrey’s direction.
That wasn’t the shocking part, the shocking part was the crazy-lookiing Adeline trailing behind him.
What was she up to this time?
