Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 66: Mind games
Will stood frozen for a second before he snapped out of his shock and blinked his eyes rapidly.
He looked Audrey up and down, a billion questions running through his mind.
How? When? What? And Why?
"Um, seems like your guard is refusing me entrance..." Audrey said while looking at the Alpha.
"Oh no! No! P-please, enter. I’m s-sorry," Will stammered as he pushed the door open for Audrey.
"More like it, Will," Audrey patted him on the shoulder as she walked into the dungeon.
Will’s body was visibly shaking with fear, he knew without a doubt that the girl who just entered through the door was Audrey, the girl whom he had mercilessly stabbed all over her body in this same dungeon a year ago.
He feared because he just realized that Audrey can’t be just an ordinary human for her to survive what he did to her.
He remembered he made sure to stab her in areas that would cause her to bleed to death, but seeing her now, looking as spotless and radiant as the moon; he realized that she isn’t ordinary as they all thought her to be.
Not even the strongest wolf would survive from what she did.
He feared for his life for he knew she had come back for revenge. And he was her target.
Audrey stepped into the farmiliar darkness, the cold room bringing back memories of her last days in the cold dark and punishing dungeon.
She took a deep breath and looked up at the person hanging just the way she had been hung the last time.
In a way, she pitied her, because after all said and done, she really didn’t have any business with Janeth. Apart from the fact that she caused her suffering in the Grey Blood Pack by revealing that letter to Alpha Lake and also siding with her sister, Elena.
But, aside those, she was an irrelevance subject to her mission and journey, she could forgive her, she was just a girl who was trying her best to her end up with the person she loved.
But, that doesn’t mean her actions were justified, she didn’t have to hurt someone just because her love was unrequited.
"Hey," Audrey said, nearing Janeth’s weak looking body.
Janeth slowly lifted her head up while grunting in pain. She managed to use her one good eye and see who had entered her dungeon, no one ever dared to visit her.
The moment she saw who it was, she started twisting and struggling in an attempt to move away from Audrey, but the chains holding her hands above her head didn’t let her.
"Hey, calm down, I’m not here to hurt you," Audrey raised her hands up, showing Janeth she meant no harm.
"Leave me alone," Janeth said weakly with difficulty.
Her lips that were slatched by the Alpha weren’t healing, neither was her eyes, she was a gory sight.
"I can heal you..." Audrey suggested.
Janeth knew she wasn’t bluffing, she knew she could heal her, she remembered how she easily uncovered her identity at the gala, healing her would be much easier for her to do.
"Why, *cough* would you heal me?" Janeth asked with a dry throat.
"Ah, yes, you figured it wasn’t for free," Audrey chuckled.
Janeth hung helplessly, staring at the amused Audrey.
"Just say it," Janeth sighed resignatedly.
"Okay, you’ll work for me, against my sister. To put it simply, you’ll be my spy." Audrey said seriously.
"She’ll kill me," Janeth said, chuckle self-deprecatingly.
She knew Elena must have found out she had failed in her mission, taking herself back to her would be no different than her current condition, maybe her current situation might even be better than what she would be taking herself into.
"Don’t worry, she’s still clueless, just keep playing by her rules. Deal?" Audrey smiled.
Janeth slowly nodded her head. It wasn’t as if she had another choice and if this was a way for her to redeem herself from her wrong doings then she was in.
She had come to accept that what wasn’t meant for her would never be hers, no matter how hard she tried.
"Good, I’ll see you soon," Audrey turned and started walking away.
Janeth was confused, didn’t she say she would heal her? Then why was she leaving her behind?
"Wait," Janeth croaked.
"Yes," Audrey paused at the center of the room and turned to Janeth.
She already knew why Janeth was stopping her.
"You said you’re healing me," Janeth whispered tiredly.
Audrey smiled and nodded, "Yes, soon," She said and walked out of the dungeon.
Will looked everywhere but at Audrey as she stepped out of the dungeon. He felt his limbs turning cold from her mere presence, he wasn’t comfortable with the situation, he didn’t like it as he didn’t know what her plans for him were. He knew she had plans, and he feared what they might be.
"You okay?" Alpha Lake asked as she came out of the dungeon.
"Yeah," Audrey nodded.
She turned around and stared directly at Will.
"Do you trust him?" Audrey asked Alpha Lake as she pointed at Will.
Alpha Lake was confused by the sudden question and honestly he didn’t know how to reply.
He still has his doubt about Will from Audrey’s incident last year. Even though he had questioned all his guards after that, it was Will’s and Bill’s explanation that sounded most weird to him.
What they told him didn’t just add up and he couldn’t jail then because he has no evidence against them. But after that, he made sure to put up a standard security system all over the dungeon. He wouldn’t be played with twice.
"Why do you ask? Did he do anything to you?" Alpha Lake asked and walked over to her protectively.
He was already sending Will in a dangerous look. A promise of a slow death conveyed in his stare.
Will visibly gulped.
Was this it? Was this when she told him about what he had done to her a year ago? His heart fell into his stomach and his heart rate was beating faster than Eminem’s rap.
"No I-"
"Nothing, was just asking. Let’s go, I’m starving.
She sent Will a smirk as she stopped him from from completing what he was about saying.
"Sure, let’s go," He took her hands and led her out of the dungeon.
Will released sigh of relief as he saw them walking away. But he figured out one thing, Audrey was going to make him be on his toes for as long as she could, he didn’t know if he had the capacity to play that kind of game with her. He might as well give himself in and end everything.
"Alpha! You’re back!" Adeline sprang up from the chair and ran to Alpha Lake’s side, grabbing his arm as she did.
"Stop it, Adeline," He gently removed his arms from her hold.
Audrey rolled her eyes and walked away from him. She didn’t want to come across like she was physical fighting over a man with Adeline.
"I’ll be upstairs," She said and walked away.
"Did you send those men to hurt Catherine?" Audrey heard Alpha Lake’s question as she was just about to close the door to his condo.
This was the reason why she didn’t want to expose Adeline’s yet, she needed Alpha Lake to see her for who she really was. He still saw her as the innocent and pure girl he believed her to be. In his eyes, she could do no harm
"Boo!"
"Hey!" Audrey put her hands on her chest to calm it down.
She had forgotten that she now had Maria here and she was supposed to be on her guard with her being around her, just because of these her stupid scare games.
"Maria!" Audrey frowned.
"Aww, sorry, you were standing at the door for quite sometime, so I got worried," Maria said with a serious face.
Audrey gritted her teeth in frustration. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"And scaring me is the way you thought was best to help me?" Audrey questioned angrily.
"Oh, come on now, don’t be touchy, you’ll get old faster," She came towards Audrey and grabbed her cheeks, pinching them.
"Get away from me! And what the hell are you doing back here? Shouldn’t you be on the nth round with your baby?" Audrey teased her.
"Shh!" Maria placed a finger over Audrey’s lips.
"Mwa?" Audrey asked inaudibly.
"Don’t let him find out about it, he’ll either kill me or send me away," Maria whispered.
Audrey raised an amused brow at her cousin.
"So... You’re not planning on going anymore?" Audrey asked.
"We’ll talk about that later. Hey! Why are looking all beat up?! Did he do this to you?! I swear to god he’s gonna get it now!" Maria swore and marched forward to the door.
"Hey, chill young tiger," Audrey drew her back by the collar, chuckling.
"Why are you stoppinge?!" Maria asked angrily.
"Calm down, it wasn’t him. I’ll tell you when I’m done showering," Audrey assured her furious cousin.
"Ugh, fine!" Maria rolled her eyes and fred herself from Audrey’s hold.
"But, seriously, why are you back here?" Audrey walked slowly toward the stairs that led to her room.
"You forget easily, I’m here to cook for you, dear Luna, now go take a shower and come down for dinner," Maria said with a smirk.
"Hey you!" Audrey pointed accusingly at Maria.
"Yes?" Maria answered innocently.
"What did you just call me?" Audrey asked menacingly.
"Luna," Maria shrugged.
"You asked for it!" Audrey leaped toward her cousin and missed.
Maria had been prepared for Audrey’s attack, she easily dodged her and ran round the sofa.
They ran around the Alpha’s house like kids, laughing and cursing each other.
