Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 118: The Backstory
The next day Audrey was discussing her plans with Maria and Sandra in front of the hospital when an unfamiliar car pulled over beside them.
"Who’s that?" Sandra asked, looking at the white car.
"I don’t know," Maria replied.
"I think I do," Audrey smiled as she stared at the door.
The doors opened, and Mark was the first to come out; he went around and opened the door for someone else to come out.
The girls all watched in anticipation as a beautiful woman in an immaculate white dress and white sandals stepped down from the car, her long hair flowing behind her.
Sandra stared with admiration and curiosity; Audrey stared with a prideful smile, while Maria looked mortified.
"Mother?" Maria gasped in shock.
Sandra instantly snapped her head to her, "That’s your mother? Damn! She’s so cool," She whispered.
Maria was still trying to wrap her head around her mother’s presence when she saw her twin sister come down from the other side of the car. Why did Mary have to come too?
"Holy cow! Am I hallucinating or did Maria just turn two?!" Sandra shifted from her friends, looking at Maria her twin.
"Audrey!" Mary dived Audrey and engulfed her in a long hug.
The two girls hugged each other tightly, laughing and giggling.
"I’ve missed you so much, cousin!" Mary said happily.
Audrey quietly patted Mary’s back, smiling.
"How do you do, child?" Miranda came forward and smiled gently at Audrey.
"Aunt," Audrey went over to Miranda and hugged her, placing her head on her bosom.
"Damn, she’s so white," Sandra whispered to Maria as she stared at Miranda.
Maria ignored her and looked at Mark questioningly. He could have at least told her that he was bringing their mother that day.
"Sorry, Chipmunk, it was a short notice," Mark smiled at Maria.
"Welcome to the Grey Blood Pack," Audrey said to Miranda and Mary.
"I can’t wait to meet him," Mary said excitedly to Audrey.
"Behave, Mary," Miranda said to her daughter who was getting overly excited about meeting Alpha Lake.
Maria sighed tiredly. Her fun days were over with her twin sister here. She had thought she had escaped her, but she still managed to find her.
How unfortunate.
"Before we go, Miranda, this is Sandra, my best friend. Sandra, this is my aunty’s and the priestess of our Coven, Miranda, and her daughter, Mary, Maria’s twin sister," Audrey pointed between Maria and Mary.
Sandra was smiling widely as she bowed to Miranda and waved to Mary.
"No need to bow, child, it’s nice to meet you," Miranda said kindly.
"Nice to meet you, too," Mary said.
Sandra nodded politely, smiling.
"Okay, let’s go," Audrey said, leading them to the Packhouse.
Maria was walking slowly behind, her mind racing as her mother hadn’t even looked at her for once; she knew they were still going to talk about her mating with a wolf, but not just now.
"Hey, can I be honest?" Sandra slowed to walk with Maria.
"Hm," Maria grunted her reply, not in the mood to talk to Sandra.
"I mean, I’ve seen your mother, she’s gorgeous, your twin sister, is a damsel, Audrey, your cousin, we all she’s a goddess. But you," Sandra looked Maria up and down and shook her head.
"I think you wronged the witch bloodline; you’re so ugly, my friend; just take a look at the view in front of you, beauties," Sandra clicked her tongue and shook her head disdainfully.
"Thanks, Sandy; we’ve always argued about who’s more beautiful," Mary suddenly commented, smirking at her sister.
"No need to debate anymore, the result is obvious, my dear friend," Sandra said, smiling mischievously at Maria.
"Just great, two fake people," Maria rolled her eyes.
She knew that Sandra and Mary would make a perfect trouble duo; they shared the same weird interests, and that’s why she always seemed to argue with Sandra.
"Having fun, girls?" Mark asked them.
"Not really, someone’s being a wet blanket as usual," Mary replied, sticking her tongue out at her twin sister.
They reached the pack house and Audrey proceeded to lead them up to Alpha Lake’s condo.
"Hey, Kitten, I’ve missed you," Alpha Lake wrapped his hands around Audrey as she entered the house and drew her into his naked chest. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
He was about to kiss her when she pushed him away, blushing. She never wanted her Aunt to see her in such a position.
"We have visitors," Audrey whispered, looking behind her.
"Who-"
"Hello, Alpha, I’m Miranda, Audrey’s aunt," Miranda introduced as she walked into the house.
Alpha Lake was surprised; he watched as more people came into the house; he narrowed his eyes at Mark but suddenly looked away from him when he saw Maria walk in with herself, well, someone who looked like her.
He looked from Maria to the girl beside her, then back at Audrey.
"Say something to her," Audrey secretly nudged him.
"I’m sorry Ma’am. Welcome to the Grey Blood Pack, please make yourself at home," He said politely.
He did not want to rub Audrey’s aunt the wrong way.
Miranda chuckled at how flustered Alpha Lake looked.
Audrey held her aunt’s hand and led her to the sofa, the rest followed behind.
"How about you get dressed, brother? We’re not here for a strip show," Mark said as he passed Alpha Lake by.
After everyone settled down, Audrey spoke up, "Before anything, I would like to resolve the rule that forbids witches from mating with wolves. The reason was misconceived, and it’s not fair to those who Nature has paired up with each other," Audrey turned briefly to Maria.
"I’m not ordering it; rather, I’m making a thoughtful request from my priestess," Audrey said.
Miranda turned to look at Maria for the first time since she arrived.
Maria was wriggling her finger around, nervous about what her mother’s final decision would be.
Miranda sighed and slowly nodded her head. "I agree. It was a stupid rule after all, made me lose my mate too," Miranda murmured, shocking everyone.
"Made you lose your mate?" Audrey questioned, looking at Mark.
Mark simply shook his head, showing her he knew nothing about the new information.
"Yes, Alpha Aloha, was my mate," Miranda said, her eyes looking pained.
Alpha Lake sat up, placing his elbows on his thighs and looking intently at Miranda.
"My dad, was your mate?" He asked calculated.
"Yes," Miranda nodded.
"How? I thought you were just..." he paused.
"Watch it, Lake," Mark warned, glaring at him.
"You thought I was just a fling, right?" Miranda chuckled.
"Well, you’re right for thinking so; that’s what I wanted everyone to think; if not, your mother would have been uncomfortable with him," She said.
"Are you saying that Luna Aurora, wasn’t Alpha Aloha’s mate?" Audrey questioned.
"No, never. She was his mate, chosen by the moon goddess, too," Miranda replied.
"Then, you’re saying..." Audrey started but trailed off, not wanting to say something that might end up offending anyone.
"Yes, child. Alpha Aloha was blessed with two mates. A wolf and a witch," Miranda once again left everyone in shock.
Alpha Lake and Mark couldn’t believe their ears. All their lives, they grew up believing that their father had dished his ex-girlfriend because he found his true mate.
They never knew that Miranda was his mate too.
"I had found it easier to let him go when I remembered the rules guiding our Coven. I asked him to keep everything a secret and start a new life with his second mate," She narrated.
"I took my child away from him and raised him amongst humans, even though he knew his father and brother. No one from this pack ever knew that their Alpha had another child somewhere, and my aim was achieved. Luna Aurora ended up having a happy relationship with the Alpha," Miranda explained.
Audrey was stunned by the information, she chuckled lightly, "I think we’re one crazy family. Did you know that Luna Aurora once dated my mother?" Audrey asked, shaking her head at how everything turned out.
It was Audrey’s turn to shock others.
"How did you find out?" Miranda asked.
"I came across their old pictures and letters to each other. It was quite intense," Audrey chuckled.
Miranda slowly nodded, remembering how affectionate Luna Aurora and Isabella were to each other back in the forest. She had only thought it was due to their strong g friendship, she never knew they had something before.
"We’re indeed an interesting family, don’t you think so, brother?" Mark asked Alpha Lake with a daunting smile.
Alpha Lake sighed, he looked at Mark with a smile of his own and replied, "You’re right, for once," they both smiled.
"Audrey, I’m here because of the information you gave me about my sister, your mother," Miranda instantly changed to serious mode.
Audrey looked away from the playful brothers and turned to her Aunt.
"I was just about to tell you all, I’ll be leaving for the Death Claw Pack tonight," She said.
