God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 1112: Inevitable (2).
Taking three steps back, Li realized he was suddenly surrounded by three enemies.
He grimaced, ’Damn it. How did I end up in this situation?!’
Right in front of him there was a man. His eyes glowed a deep red, and he wore nothing but a pair of pants. On his chest was branded an insignia of a terrible looking creature with a single eye, writhing under the glow of a crimson moon.
To his right, a large man wielding an iron club, his body covered with all manner of runes. The surface of his skin was crackedike he was made of stone.
To his left, was another man dressed in black and red garbs. In his hands, he wielded a pair of crimson scimitars, their crescents like the blood moon’s.
Wondering why he had suddenly been backed into a corner, the stone skinned man covered in runes turned to the other two,
"Leave this one to me. He’s my find."
He turned to glare at Li, who groaned in return.
The man with the crimson eyes chuckled,
"Braxx, there’s no need to be selfish here. Trying to hoard all the glory is sure to end poorly for you."
Braxx, a member of the Stone Ox King’s personal guard sneered,
"Guston, you—"
Just as he was about to say something, the last man rushed forward, already brandishing his scimitars at Li’s neck.
Braxx clicked his tongue, "These idiots are always too excited to spill blood."
Without saying anything more, he huffed and charged forward as well.
Chuckling, Guston shot forward as well.
Meeting the first with a well timed block with his forearm, Li’s fist shot forward for a jab.
A moment later, he was forced to to retreat as a large steel club smashed into where he had been.
However, he was not out of the danger as a moment later, something appeared behind him.
"What in the—!"
It was a giant eye.
The eye glowed crimson for a moment then spat something at him too fast to dodge.
The crimson ray struck him point blank.
Instantly, Li felt his body grow heavier and more sluggish.
His eyes widened.
’Crap!’
Befire he could verbalize his curses, the crimson-eyed man shot at him. His palm smashed into his solar plexus.
The force behind the strike was so much, Li was sent flying backwards. Crashing into the ground, the steadied himself with a roll.
’Damn it! This is too intense!’
The steel club was send flying towards his head, and the curve of the scimitar blades his neck.
Feeling the pressure becoming unbearable, Li finally snapped.
"Get back!" Guston suddenly yelled.
There was a loud explosion of flames. The scimitar wielding fighter was able toive back in time, but Braxx stood his ground. His skin glowed a deep crimson as his body absorbed the heat.
He sneered, ’My blessing allows me to absorb energy within a certain threshold and unleash it as physical power.’
The heat was intense, but it was not enough to singe even the hairs on his head.
When the flames died down, the surface of his body was black, with glowing red runes covering it
He grinned and smashed his fists together,
"Let’s see how you—"
BANG!
"For a dude with a bald head, you sure talk a whole damn lot!" Li growled, his fist buried deep into his face.
Braxx was sent flying back, crashing into the ground and leaving cracks on it.
Seeing this, Guston frowned.
He turned to the scimitar wielder, who was one of the Steel Vipers.
"This is a tough opponent. We’ll have to work together to take him down safely."
The Steel Vipers said nothing and nodded. Although their respective elders might despise we each other, ultimately, they were still of the same sect. When it was time to cooperate, they would do so without question.
Braxx shook his head and rose up from the ground, residual heat still wafting off of him.
He grimaced and touched his broken nose. It hurts so much, he had seen stars.
His face darkened.
"You bastard!" He roared and charged forward, rushing past the other two.
Seeing this, Li’s expression became cold.
’Reckless fool.’
He had once been like that as well. However, he was reasonable enough to change and improve.
His fists circled up and tightened. The wind elemental mana within and about him soared to the high heavens then condensed around his fists.
Then they were ignited by a spark.
The superheated, compressed wind mana became so hot, it turned into plasma that glowed bright. Just like a burning star.
The earth beneath his feet cracking, Li let out a growl as he punched forward.
Although he was blinded by momentary rage, Braxx was not a juvenile.
His danger sensing instincts immediately sobered him up.
However, it was already too late to dodge.
In a panic, he brought his club forward.
Li’s flaming fist slammed into the club.
In an instant, Braxx felt every bone in his arm shatter. Although his opponent was smaller than he was, the punch seemed to pack an impossible amount of force.
The first cut right through the enchanted metal of the club, destroying it complete. Then, it continued right towards his chest.
Suddenly, a crimson barrier appeared between Li’s fist and his chest.
The barrier shattered immediately upon contact, but it managed to absorb most of the force and heat.
Still, the residual was more than enough to send him barrelling away again, this time, with more than just a broken nose. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Guston grimaced, "That idiot!"
Li relaxed his stance and huffed deeply,
"Who else wants to have a fucking go?! Step the fuck right up!"
Guston’s eyes narrowed menacingly.
He extended a hand to Braxx.
A magic circle appeared about him, and a new eye was spat forth.
Li’s expression changed.
"I will admit, that was impressive. You even managed to knock out this stubborn bull with a single blow."
He muttered something under his breath.
Suddenly, the eye exploded and a thick, viscous stream of glowing blood poured out of it and onto the fighter writhing in the ground.
"However do not forget— your opponent today, is not just one brutish fool."
Braxx slowly rose from the muddy ground. His face was red with rage, but he didn’t rush forward like before.
Guston glanced at him,
"Is that enough for you?"
Braxx wiped the blood off his mouth and cracked his neck,
"Yeah."
Guston nodded, ’In that case, let’s end this farce."
