God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 1100: Troublesome Friends (3).
Melania had transformed into a goddess of war.
The whips in her hands had transformed into massive flaming serpents, around her, was a domain of heat that turned the ground beneath her into molten slag.
Her clothes had incinerated, leaving behind only her blazing armor.
She snapped her wrist, causing her whip to crack.
"I’ll fucking kill you." She growled at Hunter.
At this stage, it was easy to see why she was considered as one of the strongest in Valestorm and a local hero.
’With such power, it is only reasonable she has made a name for herself. It’s almost impressive.’
Hunter would have been more impressed if he didn’t think she was such a troublemaker.
At the end of the day, he was not going to show any mercy regardless.
He had been in a terrible mood for a while now. Her annoying demands and arrogance had been the straw that broke the camel’s back and had finally gotten to him.
Although he was not one to lose his calm, he figured it was fine to let his frustrations show every once in a while.
Plus, he couldn’t help but admit it was a fine opportunity to test is strength, as well as cast some intimidation and fear into a few of theinds gathered around.
With that in mind, Hunter snapped his fingers.
Hundreds of magic circles opened up around him, and from them, hundreds of summoned creatures— creatures that rapidly twisted into his own form the moment they were born.
His special skill of his had been with him since the very beginning. It had also been a rather important tool in his arsenal for a long time, but it had been a while since he had practically used it in battle.
Hunter huffed.
His summoned clones all charged forward, each one looking exactly like him.
Melania’s eyes swam as she tried to pinpoint the real Hunter before she finally gave up and roared,
"I’ll just burn every damn one of you!"
The blaze around her expanded and gushed forward like a tidal wave.
The flames surged over the clones, but they simply dove through it, completely unaffected.
She clicked her tongue and snapped forward.
Her lithe body was like a leaf in the wind as she dove right into the fray. Her whips were her wings, cutting through the horde of clones mercilessly, not caring at all of the real Hunter was bitten in half by her weapons.
The sky was filled with a wonderful scattering of crimson sparks. They were like stars in the sky, evena s the fizzled and fell.
The clones were being mowed down at an alarming rate.
And yet, Melania only felt the fear and unease in her heart growing.
How has he appeared behind her the last time? Some kind of invincibility spell? Or perhaps a technique to reduce his presence.
’Yes, that must be it. The damned coward!’ Melania raged internally.
But there was nothing she could do about it.
Her flames could do nothing to the clones, and even her whip could only do so much. They didn’t have the ability to actively seek out the real target in a sea of clones.
’Will I be forced to use my trump card here?’
She had been saving it for when she would have to face Cain, the leader of the Golden Asura. But, now was not the time to be conservative.
She sucked in a deep breath. The whips coiled around her body, their tongues drawing flaming runes in the air around here.
"Something is about to happen..." Dan muttered under his breath.
Seeing the concerned look on his face, Cain simply chuckled. In reality, he was not concerned at all.
In fact, he had absolute faith in the outcome of the battle he could see.
In no reality would Hunter lose.
His opponents certainly quite powerful, even amongst their ranks.
However, when dealing with a monster like Hunter, one had to be a monster, or perhaps, something more...
There was a momentary lull.
And then.
An explosion that ripped through the world.
With a wave of his hand, Steve, watching languidly from the sidelines erected a transparent barrier that blocked out and dampened the flames and the shockwaves.
All the clones were instantly reduced to ash.
Breathing heavily, Melania fell to a knee, sweat steaming off her body.
That one had taken quite a bit from her. But it was worth it.
The tide of clones had been reduced to a sea of ash. There was absolutely no way he—
Melania trembled as that overwhelming fear returned.
"You’ve had your fun..."
A voice deep, magnetic, and menacing, came from behind her. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Before she could fully turn around, something struck her from the back. The immense pain made her unable to scream out for a moment as she lurched forward.
As she was sent flying, Hunter reappeared before her.
His eyes were cold and he said nothing as he slammed his fist into her solar plexus, knocking her out cold.
Silence...
The once rowdy crowd had become dead silent.
Hunter huffed and sheathed his blades. As Melania struggled back onto her feet, he declared coldly,
"The only reason you still draw breath, is my mercy. Consider that every time you decide to run your mouth."
Light shine in his palm and he threw something to the ground beside her,
It was a rolled up map and a pouch filled with mana shards.
His expression softened a bit,
"I express my condolences for those you have lost. If I had my way, no one would have to die anymore. Here is compensation, if they have any families left, and a map that will take you back to Valestorm. Should you choose to remain with us and fight, I’ll consider this as bygones."
After saying that, he turned around and walked away...
However, before he could get too far, the sound of something crashing into the ground made him turn around.
Melania had smashed her fist into the barren earth, leaving behind a small crater.
Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared death at him,
"Hunter. I’ll be sure to remember this."
Hunter shrugged and turned around, "Good."
