God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 1101: To whom Great Power is Offered.
Rising to her feet, Melania had a terribly dark look on her face as she glared daggers at Hunter. However, he didn’t turn around regardless of the heat and clear murder in her eyes.
He had completely humiliated her. And there he was, walking away like nothing had happened.
She trembled with rage and turned around.
Behind her were not only the her men, but also members of other mercenary parties.
To be embarrassed to such degree in front of them all...
’That damned bastard! I’ll make him pay!’
"The Golden Asura truly are as terrifying as they say. Are you okay, Melania?"
A man decked out in treated leather armor, with a cape made of the coat of some silver mutant beast hung from his shoulders. He was big and muscular. However, he looked down at Melania who was relatively smaller than he was with reverence and a hint of fear as well as carefully hidden lust. He was Fallon, the leader of the Redblade Mercenaries.
Melania snorted as she walked past him,
"I’m fine. The bastard made use of some cheap trick." Although she said that, in her mind, she was completely perplexed.
How had he done it? Twice in a row too.
At first, she thought he had taken advantage of her negligence and somehow slipped through her blindspots.
To make sure it didn’t happen again, she had taken care to be extra vigilant.
And yet, it had happened again!
Had he been too fast for her to keep up with?
’No. That possibly couldn’t be it, right? I am also a Tier 2 as well. There is no way he can be that much faster than me.’
Just the thought of it was infuriating and embarrassing.
She sighed and declared loudly,
"Let’s go!"
Fallon turns to walk beside her,
"So, what do you want to do now?"
Melania glanced up at him. Even though she thought of him as a nuisance, she felt he was too useful to throw away, so she kept him for the time being.
After all, having a reliable partner to trade and make use of was convenient. Although he was a dunce, he was a powerful and useful one.
She sighed,
"No, forget it."
She glanced down at the pouch of mana shards and clenched her fists before easing up.
"We’ll go along with the farce for now. Those who died do not have any surviving family, so we will split this amongst ourselves."
Then she turned to Fallon, "Make sure no one disturbs me tonight. I need some time alone."
Fallon raised a brow, but nodded, ", Understood."

Staring at the small clump of tents from on high, Cain narrowed his eyes and dulled out his other senses, expanding his hearing to the absolute limit.
His target was a particular tent, particularly, the tent of Melania, leader of the Soul Sprites.
He had watched as she and the other mercenaries had retreated after Hunter had defeated her with the Beastmen cheering behind him.
Tearing himself away from the crowd, he had flown high into the sky, away from the camp, to eavesdrop on Melania.
’Could she be the spy?’ As the sounds trickled into his ears, those were the thoughts forming in his head.
His brows furrowed.
After a few minutes of listening, he let out a sigh.
’It’s not her.’
He was a bit disappointed, but figured it was fine. Catching a spy was certainly not going to be easy, especially if they knew how to be discreet.
Still, it was a bit frustrating.
He returned his senses to their original state, and then flew away just a bit before landing.
From there, he could still see the faint orange light from the magic lamps. However, it was far enough that whatever he wanted to do here would be muffled by the time it reached the camp.
He plopped down to the ground and pulled {Eidwyrm} from his inventory.
Now that he had had his fill of food, he figured he could exercise a bit.
’I possess two sources of physical energy— Ki and Demon Matter.’
’Ki is vital energy, or a reserve of extra fuel my body burns to grant an increase in power or increase effectiveness of a particular body function.’
The type of Ki Plundered was also directly affected by this.
His Ki Plundering technique was an all encompassing one that would allow him to enhance not only his body, but also objects such as his sword of he pleased.
However, most there were techniques that were specific.
And although it was vital energy, in reality, it was hard to give it a solid meaning.
It was even more mysterious than mana at times.
However, it was present in abundance in most beasts, and was the source of their robust fleshy might.
The larger the reserves of Ki, the greater the fleshy might of the creature.
’Perhaps all beasts have a straightforward, uniform way of burning their Ki.’ he thought to himself.
If it was a natural consequence of possessing a beast’s Nexus of Ki, then there was not much he could do about it.
His methods of utilizing Ki were unique as well. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Not only could he use it for all forms of attack, he could also use it to directly raised his attack potency, with the help of his ability— [Ki Fire].
[ki Fire] was simply the phenomenon of his Ki burning to take on a more physical form that directly raised the lethality of an attack. In more ways than none, it was like sharpening a sword, or applying poison to an arrow head to make it more lethal and dangerous.
Of course, it only applied to attacks that can be executed physically, such as a punch, or a blade strike.
And then, there was Demon Matter, the basic of his main transformation and his swords skills. It was just as important as his mana , perhaps even more...
Cain slowly closed his eyes and let his breath fall into a steady rhythm.
