Chapter 1021: New Member

Shane blinked, momentarily stunned.

’Only her? Not the entire shelter?’

For a moment, he thought Katrina was abandoning her people, and the idea didn’t sit right with him.

"Why only you?" Shane asked as he curiously looked at her eyes. She seemed innocent and wouldn’t even think of something like that.

"Do you mean to leave the rest of them behind?"

Katrina’s eyes widened, and she quickly shook her head. "No! You misunderstand." Her voice carried urgency.

She also realized how it sounded as she was almost desperate to clear the confusion.

She drew in a breath and swiftly explained.

"I know you have a Clan... The Eclipse Revenant Clan, right? I’m not exactly sure how many you can accept, but it should be around five hundred or so, if the rumors are true. And I also know you manage several shelters, with thousands of survivors under your command. What I meant is... I don’t just want to join your shelter. I want to join your Clan. I want to be part of it."

Shane’s expression softened as he realized what she wanted to happen.

Seeing his reaction, Katrina heaved a sigh of relief and continued.

"I want to prove myself. I want to be useful to you and to the Clan. I’ll work hard, complete Clan Missions, and contribute everything I can. My talent isn’t just for bringing pets or animals; it can be a weapon, a shield, a tool for your people. I want to stand among your elites, not just hide in a shelter waiting for the next wave. Also..."

She then paused for a moment as if she was hesitating to reveal this or not...

However, since Shane was basically the Rank 1 and several times better than her, she believed that he wouldn’t take interest in something she possessed.

"I want to reach Level 60 at the very least. To be honest, I obtained a Talent Advancement Crystal from a Platinum Treasure Chest. However, I need to be level 60 before I can use it."

Shane finally understood, and a soft chuckle escaped him.

"So that’s what you meant. You don’t just want protection from my shelter, you want to level up."

He couldn’t help but feel amused.

"You’re bold, Katrina. I like that."

Soon, the system’s interface appeared faintly in his vision. His Clan Level had already increased, granting him more slots for new members. He had room to accept her. Still, before sending the invitation, he wanted to know more.

"Tell me," Shane said firmly. "If you want to be a member of my Clan, you have to tell me more about your talent and your Survivor Skills. I need to know exactly what you’re offering, so I can properly send you to a team, or if you can operate alone."

Katrina nodded. She finally felt excited...

She raised her hand, and a faint aura shimmered around her fingers.

"My Talent is Beast Convergence. I can summon animals from the wilderness or sometimes, even from the Gray Fog if I pay the right price..."

Shane gently nodded after hearing this and immediately thought of her last summon.

"Right, my last summon came from the Gray Fog, and I paid a huge price for it, so I was bedridden for a while. The stronger the creature, the heavier the cost. It drains Spirit Points like a flood, and I might even spend Stamina, Vitality, Experience Points, and others... But once summoned, I can bind them permanently. That’s how we survived here. Wolves, bears, even larger beasts... all came because of me."

She paused, then added, "My Survivor Skills are focused on scouting, concealment, and support. I can mask the presence of my summons, extend their senses to my allies, and even use them to carry supplies or fight in formation. I’m not just a summoner... Think of me as a commander of beasts."

Shane listened intently with his smile widening as he listened.

’A talent like that... rare, powerful, versatile. She’s worth it.’

Without hesitation, he opened the system panel. A blue interface appeared before him, glowing faintly. He navigated to the Clan menu and selected Invite Member.

A notification appeared in front of Katrina, a shimmering blue panel hovering in the air.

[ Eclipse Revenant Clan invites you to join. ]

Katrina’s breath caught. Her eyes widened as she stared at the panel. For a moment, her hands trembled, but then she pressed her palm against the light.

[ Invitation Accepted. ]

The system chimed softly at Shane’s notifications..

[ New Member Added: Katrina Lilith ]

Shane grinned at the sight.

"Welcome to the Eclipse Revenant Clan."

Katrina exhaled as she felt relieved... She even noticed how Shane didn’t care about her Talent Advancement Crystal. It just shows that her precious item may not be that valuable in front of a Top Rank Survivor.

"I won’t let you down."

Katrina sat up a little straighter as she felt that a lot of her problems had just been resolved.

"Shane... what about the others here? The people of this Waterfall Shelter?"

Shane nodded. "If they want to leave, I’ll invite them. My shelters can sustain them far better than this cavern. Blue Haven alone has enough space, and with the Floating Fortress I have, I can relocate them anywhere. But it has to be their choice."

Relief washed over Katrina’s face. "They’ll want to leave. All of them. Even if this shelter is livable now, it won’t last. At best, it can serve as an emergency hideout, but it’s not a place to live every day. We all know it."

Shane nodded. He had already thought the same. "Then I’ll prepare to move them once my matter with the Overlord Clan is dealt with."

’Overlord?’ Katrina had no idea about this, but she nodded.

Then, Shane recalled the matters outside.

"Tell me, Katrina... do you know about the Zombie Lords above? And the BioGenix gate they’re guarding?"

Katrina’s expression darkened. She nodded slowly. "I know. But I never dared send more of my animals to investigate. The risk was too high. Several clans already tried to clear this area... and they all failed."
