Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 868: Connection
At that time, after giving birth to her daughter, Yu Holea’s soul awakened. It was so pure, it caught the attention of the Goddess City. She was chosen as a candidate for the next Goddess.
With her usual determination, Yu Holea entered Goddess City and worked hard to rise up the ranks. She trained, studied, and became one of the strongest candidates. She even competed with the Former Goddess fairly for the final position.
Yu Holea had a goal.
She wanted to become the Goddess not for power, but so she could help her family become immortal. She wanted to protect them forever.
But in the end... she lost.
The Former Goddess won by using a trick... one she still regretted. Yu Holea lost, but instead of being angry, she accepted it.
The Former Goddess, feeling guilty, promised Yu Holea that her daughter could become the next Goddess. But Yu Holea shook her head. "Don’t force her," she had said with a soft smile. "Let her grow freely. She’s just a child."
So Goddess Phoenix grew up with no pressure. Still, she chose to train, to cultivate, and to earn her place. When she turned 18, she was marked as a candidate, and with Yu Holea’s help and guidance, she became one of the most respected in Goddess City.
But time passed. Yu Holea’s life came to an end.
As her body grew weak, she still smiled and said, "It’s okay. My daughter is strong. She can live well."
But Goddess Phoenix wasn’t ready.
She didn’t want to lose her mother.
So she used her power, against the rules of Heaven, and sent Yu Holea into a new world. A second life. A different timeline. She made sure Yu Holea could be reborn.
She even used her own strength to make a connection between her world and her mother’s, watching from afar as Yu Holea lived again.
This time, Yu Holea lived on Earth. A modern world. Goddess Phoenix couldn’t stay close, but she could watch from the shadows.
For a while... she was happy.
But then strange things started happening.
Some invaders entered that timeline, people who weren’t supposed to be there. Yu Mei appeared again, but she was different, stronger, darker. And the witch, too... something was wrong with her.
Furious, Goddess Phoenix tried to use her power to stop them. She wanted to protect her mother.
But something stopped her.
It was like the entire timeline was being protected by an invisible force. She couldn’t touch it. She couldn’t change anything.
That’s when she started to regret everything.
And before she could do anything... Yu Mei and the Dark Lord made their move.
They killed Yu Holea.
Goddess Phoenix watched it all.
She saw her mother fall.
She wanted to tear Yu Mei apart. But no matter what she did, Yu Mei’s power had grown too strange. Even with all of Goddess Phoenix’s strength... she couldn’t hurt her.
Blinded by grief, filled with anger, Goddess Phoenix made a desperate choice.
She broke the rules again.
She used her soul, her own power, and the help of five earthly souls to bring Yu Holea back again—one last time.
This time, Yu Holea’s soul was divided into two parts, living different lives.
But Goddess Phoenix made sure one part would survive. She finished off that cursed version of Yu Holea’s timeline and focused everything on protecting her new self.
When she opened her eyes again... everything was different.
She was still Goddess Phoenix.
She still wore the mask. She still held the name.
But this wasn’t the same Goddess City.
This time, Yu Holea was competing with Candidate Phoenix to become the Goddess.
Candidate Phoenix stood in silence, her heart heavy with guilt.
She looked at the Former Goddess, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Everything was too much. The pain, the memories, the regrets... they all came crashing down like waves.
What made it worse... was the truth.
She had hurt her own father. She had harmed her own mother, Yu Holea.
She had broken the rules of Heaven, again and again, just to bring her mother back. And what happened?
Yu Holea ended up suffering even more.
She had died again.
She had been reborn into a world where she didn’t even remember her own daughter.
Candidate Phoenix bit her lip hard, her chest aching. "Why did I do all this?" she whispered to herself. "Why did I mess up everything?"
She thought about calling her Eomma, the Korean word for mother. That’s what she used to call her when she was little, back in that first life, when everything was peaceful.
But now?
She didn’t deserve to say that.
Not when Yu Holea looked at her like a stranger. Not when her own mother’s eyes were cold, filled with confusion and distance.
I ruined her life... three times.
She sniffled quietly.
Her mother had died again and again... all because of her.
It was all her fault.
All of it.
The heavens had punished her.
They made her mother forget everything.
They made her be reborn in a place where no one knew her.
They even made Yu Holea compete against her own daughter... without even knowing it.
And what hurt most of all?
She couldn’t even say sorry.
She couldn’t even hug her mother.
She just had to keep pretending like she was okay. Like she didn’t care.
But today...
Today, Yu Holea had forgiven her.
Even if she didn’t know the full truth, she had still forgiven her.
And that... made Candidate Phoenix feel even more guilty.
What if she knew everything? What if she found out that the one who caused all her pain... was her own daughter?
Would she still forgive her? Would she still love her? Would she even want to give birth to her again?
The thought made Candidate Phoenix’s heart squeeze painfully.
But no matter how scared she felt, she knew one thing.
She had to tell her the truth.
Even if Yu Holea hated her. Even if she never forgave her again.
She had to know.
So, with her hands clenched tightly at her sides, Candidate Phoenix looked up at the Former Goddess and asked quietly, "When will I be reincarnated?"
The Former Goddess looked at her for a long time. She didn’t speak.
She could feel the strong emotion in Candidate Phoenix’s heart. She could see the pain, the sadness, the fear.
And then she understood what the girl was planning.
Her eyes widened. "No."
Candidate Phoenix blinked. "What?"
"No," the Former Goddess said again, firmer this time. "If you dare tell Yu Holea anything more... the heavens will be furious. And this time, it won’t just be her getting another chance."
Her voice turned low. "This time, you might both be erased."
Candidate Phoenix shivered.
She hadn’t expected it to be that serious.
Still, she lowered her eyes and whispered, "I just... I don’t want to lie to her anymore."
The Former Goddess sighed. She reached out and gently touched Candidate Phoenix’s shoulder.
"I understand," she said softly. "I really do. But things are different now. You and Yu Holea... you’re no longer the same."
Candidate Phoenix frowned. "What do you mean?"
The Former Goddess looked sad. "Even your face... it’s not the same. You changed it when you came into this world. You’re no longer her daughter, not by blood, not by soul. Even your energy is different. The bloodline you carry now doesn’t belong to Yu Holea at all."
Candidate Phoenix turned away. Her eyes filled with tears.
"I don’t need that reminder," she said quietly.
She didn’t need to be told she was alone. She already knew.
But suddenly, a thought struck her.
She turned back to the Former Goddess.
"But... how do you know all this?" she asked. "I arrived in a completely different world. How can you see my past and present?"
The Former Goddess let out a soft chuckle.
"You think I only watch one world?" she said with a smile. "Child... soon you’ll learn that being a Goddess means watching over more than just one planet."
She raised her hand and opened her palm. Inside, a glowing map appeared. Stars. Galaxies. Thousands of orbs of light.
"There are over 3,000 worlds you’ll have to govern one day."
Candidate Phoenix’s eyes widened.
Her stomach twisted in fear.
"I... I don’t want to rule anything," she whispered.
The Former Goddess smiled gently. "You don’t have to. Not yet. But if you want to be born again as Yu Holea’s daughter... you’ll need to earn it. You’ll need to gather enough merit first."
Candidate Phoenix nodded slowly.
She didn’t want power. She didn’t want glory.
She just wanted to be with her mother again. To be looked at warmly by her mother and slowly make up for all the mistakes she had made.
Hence she was filled with determination to fulfill all the responsibilities she was assigned as a goddess.
Even if it took a thousand years... she would wait.
