Getting a Technology System in Modern Day-Chapter 1040: The FINAL FIGHT IV
For the imperial citizens watching, it was one of the most tense and stressful moments of their lives. They knew that although it was a live feed, they were watching events that had already happened, slowed down so much that they could follow the action. As a result, they knew that the fight had most likely already ended, the victor decided, and what they were watching was just the inevitable replay leading to that conclusion, a conclusion that might have the emperor as the loser.
It was a grueling watch, but none of them could bring themselves to look away. The screen showed a close-up angle of the Grand Xor’Vak lowering both his hands in slow motion. The camera then pulled back, trying to show both combatants, but even at a wider angle, the emperor couldn’t be found. The camera system had been blinded, as it used mana to create the video feed, and Aron was hiding himself from it, causing the citizens’ hearts to sink as they imagined the worst.
However, the system didn’t leave them hanging for long. It created an approximation of Aron’s location based on his momentum from the self-made cannon, clearly marking it for viewers as an estimate from his last tracked position.
.......................
Just as his hands were about to fall halfway, the Grand Xor’Vak felt a pulse go through him for a fraction of a moment. He tried to escape, jumping from the rock he was floating above, but he found himself suspended mid-air with his hands still raised, incapable of moving even an inch.
Then, as he looked around with a confused and momentarily terrified expression, Aron’s voice finally came to both him and the viewers, though its source had yet to be triangulated. “Are you willing to surrender?”
Aron was not planning on revealing himself and putting himself at a disadvantage until he was sure he had officially won. There was no advantage in it.
“In your dreams!” the Grand Xor’Vak shouted in anger. He immediately released his mana, trying to activate the same attack, but he didn’t have to raise his hands to activate it; however, nothing happened. Confused, he realized he couldn’t sense the mana in his surroundings. All of it was being absorbed by whatever was holding him down.
“Thank you for the answer.” Aron’s directionless voice was heard as the hold started getting tighter with each passing second.
“You think this much force is enough to make me surrender?” the Grand Xor’Vak taunted as he used mana to reinforce his muscles against the increasingly tightening force. He added, “I have enough mana and mana generation to keep this up forever.”
Aron didn’t answer this time. He just started pumping nearly the maximum amount of power his body’s near-infinite mana pool allowed him to use at a single moment. The amount of force continued to multiply with each passing moment as almost all of it was put into the shield wall, which was nearly a hundred kilometers thick in all directions.
The Grand Xor’Vak looked normal for a few seconds, but he suddenly realized that the force was continuously accumulating at the same pace. After half a minute, it had already reached the point where he was feeling the strain, but it didn’t stop, continuing to increase its squeezing force, which also resulted in the density of the shield itself increasing.
“I can keep it up forever, so you better come up with another attack,” the Grand Xor’Vak taunted again, trying to believe his own words. He knew Aron would run out of mana before the density and crushing force could reach a point where his mana-reinforced body couldn’t handle it.
“I can do the same,” a response came from all directions as the force continued to increase at the same pace.
Those watching the live stream could now see a gauge showing how dense the highlighted shield was becoming, with the numbers telling them exactly by how much. It wasn’t long before it became dense enough that the cloud left from the massive explosion, along with the smaller debris, fell into orbit around the shield. But before the orbits could become stable, the density continued to increase, which continuously altered their orbits as they got closer and closer to the object with each passing second, before most of them were on a collision course with it.
As the objects started crashing into the shield, only then did the Grand Xor’Vak realize how thick whatever he was trapped in was, as all of the objects were crashing nearly a hundred kilometers away from him, who was at the middle of the cube-like object. He couldn’t pinpoint the exact distance and had to rely on his natural vision, as all the mana in his vicinity was being absorbed, making it impossible to use it to observe his surroundings.
Half an hour is all it took for the strain he was feeling to go from manageable to uncomfortable, forcing him to use more and more mana to reinforce his body to adjust to the continuously increasing pressure. But he knew there was a limit to how much his body could be reinforced with mana; there is only so much mana a certain part of the body can handle before it reaches saturation. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
From the fact that there was no pace reduction in the increasing force, it looked like Aron was not nearing his limit at all, though he couldn’t see him to be sure.
“How much mana does he have?” was the question on both the Grand Xor’Vak’s mind and everyone watching. Along with the density that was being highlighted, the amount of mana being pumped into the cube was also being written in different amounts, so viewers with different numbering and measurement systems could clearly understand it. That amount was reaching terrifyingly unfathomable levels, even for civilizations that considered themselves blessed with mana.
It was a reminder for them just how much powerful these individuals were which was more impactful taht even watching the back and forth fights.
