Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 199: Blown up the cover
Theo’s POV:
Celestia sensed my presence as usual, and she was about to get closer to me. But Ivory appeared on the spot and forcefully teleported me back to the fort.
"Theo, are you out of your goddamn mind?" she yelled at me. "How could you sneak into the castle gardens like that? What would have happened if I had not teleported you at the right time?"
I sat down on the chair and beamed at her. "Nothing would have happened to me! My love would have never hurt me, you know. And she so much wanted me just like I wanted her."
She shook her head in disbelief and said, "You have gone completely insane! You know that she dislikes you now, don’t you? Still, you assume that she wants you?"
"Ivory, sweetie! You need to understand that only her outer mind dislikes me because she is believing the lies that her father told her about me. But she subconsciously desires me! And did you know that she dreamt of me yesterday?"
She sighed at my justification. "You can’t deny that her outer mind wants to destroy you. So if you reveal yourself to her, then she is going to drain your blood with her sharp fangs and kill you."
I refused to believe what Ivory said. Celestia can never hurt me! She has just misunderstood me for now, and soon I will find a way to convince her.
"And Theo, if you try to watch her from hiding again, then it won’t end well for you. She is able to sense your presence somehow, and you need to stay away from her."
"Fine," I sighed. "I won’t do this again!"
I pressed my back against the chair and shut my eyes. For this long, I assumed that I was the only one who missed her. But she misses me too!
Even though her mind is clouded with fables about me, her heart still desires me so much. That is why she is dull and unhappy as I am not around her.
What more proof does she need than this to realize that she belongs to me? I hope that she understands it soon!
When I saw her in the gardens a while ago, I wanted to put my arms around her and console her that I am there for her. But that would have blown up my cover!
The noise of a bird chirping made me sit up straight in the chair. A firebird was on the table that was next to me.
For a moment, I thought that it was Tangerine. But this one was very large in size, and it must be a male. There was a white scroll tied along with his yellow claws. So this is a message from the lame King Oberon?!
I undid the strings and removed the scroll from her claws. I almost laughed when I saw the message. This is definitely not written by Oberon—as he never addresses his inferiors like his friend.
So this must be the work of Darius and my love! Darius has once again proved to me how big of an idiot he is. But I am lucky that my opponent is dim-witted. This gives me leverage against them.
When I showed the scroll to Ivory, she started yelling at me again. I don’t exactly get why she is overreacting now.
"Theo, you have blown up our cover! They are onto us. What are we going to do now?"
"Ivory, just relax! They don’t have solid proof against me. That is why they are messing with us through this scroll. If we go to the castle and put on a fake mask again, their suspicion will fade away."
After that, I left the chair and walked towards the door. I should show this scroll to Samuel. He might get nervous, but I should console him somehow.
Just when I was about to open the door, Ivory called me out.
"Theo, wait! Aren’t you a bit guilty of your actions?"
"What are you saying?" I said and turned to her. "Why would I have to be guilty of my actions? I did nothing wrong."
"Theo, are you seriously saying that you did the right thing by staring at Celestia all the time when you were in the court? And did you do the right thing by sneaking into the castle? Samuel told you to follow three rules, do you remember? You have broken all of your rules."
I sighed to myself and turned to her. I don’t understand what is the matter with her. Why is she nagging me now?
"Ivory, you clearly don’t understand my bond with Celestia. Even if I try to resist her, I can’t do it sometimes. It is the same for her too! So can you let this slide now and focus on fixing this mess first?"
"Whatever! But you need to know that Samuel’s life depends on your actions. He is helping you by offering you a place to stay. He gave you a cover! So you can’t repay him by putting him in trouble. Keep in mind and act from now on."
Why is she so harsh to me lately? In the past, she and I used to cause chaos together everywhere we went. Now she is schooling me like Cynthia would do. Why has her whole behavior changed? And I really missed the old fierce Ivory!

Samuel was peacefully eating in the upper regions of the tower.
The temperature was freezing here since it is the head of the tower—and I was unfortunate enough to leave my blanket downstairs.
"Get in, my children," Samuel said while he was munching berries. "I didn’t expect your arrival here. Is everything alright?"
I just handed over the scroll to him. It is the best way to break the bad news to him. He casually opened the scroll, but dread filled his eyes once he read it.
Then he stared at me and said, "Your highness, I assume that you are responsible for this!"
