Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 187: Eyes on the Target!
Celestia’s POV:
Edwin picked up another arrow from the ground and gave it to me. Holy Aiden! How many shots did I shoot behind the target?!
"Now try again with a calm mind! Visualize that your arrow is already stuck in the center of that X mark."
I followed his instructions and relaxed my mind. I was about to release the string, but Edwin stopped me again.
"No, Celestia. Your fingers should never touch the string even slightly. And your eyes should not be anywhere except the target."
"But my eyes are already on the target—"
"No, they are not," he disagreed and moved behind me.
He was so close to me that I was able to smell his pleasant cedarwood cologne. I should tell him to step away from me. What if he accidentally touches me and gets blown away?!
But I fell silent when he touched the wooden bow in my hand and lowered it a little down. "By eyes, I didn’t mean your blue eyes! I was referring to the arrow. Just remember that an arrow is always the eye for you—while you are about to hit the target. So keep your eyes on the target, Celestia!"
Eyes on the target! Eyes on the target! I repeated that phrase many times in my mind before I shot the arrow at the tree trunk.
To my surprise, the arrow pierced the top portion of the X-mark on the tree trunk. Even though I didn’t hit the target exactly, I was happy with my achievement—as this is the first time I am even hitting the trunk.
I turned around and smiled at Edwin. "Thank you so much for your advice. You are a good teacher."
"Anything for the Dawn," he said and bowed down to me.
Edwin has been so supportive of me ever since I arrived here. Even Daviana failed to understand me sometimes. But he always knew my troubles.
Perhaps I should rely on him and ask him for help! He might even help me in bringing my powers.
"Edwin, will you please train me?"
"What?" he shouted out in excitement. " I mean, yes, I will be honored to train the Dawn."
I was about to thank him again, but at that moment, Laris and Vivian came running towards us in such a hurry—as if a Shadow creature was chasing them.
"Celestia, come to the court now," Laris yelled out from a distance.
"What is happening in the courtroom? Is a Shadow Creature attacking everyone in there?" I asked Laris anxiously, who was sweating and breathing out heavily from all the running.
His hair and his golden robe were wet with his own sweat. I turned to Vivian—who was in the exact same condition as Laris. Today is really sunny! Since I was standing in the shade of the huge Chestnut tree, I didn’t feel the heat.
Laris wiped away the sweat from his forehead and said, "There are no Shadow creatures in the court. But a drop-dead gorgeous lady and a handsome dark-haired man are there!"
"Celestia—" Vivian interrupted. "Even if you don’t want to see the happenings of the court, you should come there just to see the dark-haired man! All the Fae girls here are already crushing over him."
These two are impossible! Did they come running here all the way from the court to say this? I glanced at Edwin, who seemed to be marveled by their stupidity.
I am not someone who crushes over random men. When I was in the mortal realm, guys asked me out all the time. But I rejected all of them! And Laris here expects me to come to the court to see a random man?
"Guys," Edwin said. "How many times should I have to tell you guys not to bother Celestia with your stupidity?"
"Fine," Laris grunted deeply. "We were just kidding! The Fae King has summoned the Dawn to the court. The whole court is waiting for your arrival."
"Okay, I will be on my way—" I sighed out.
I didn’t want to go to the courtroom, mostly because of the way everything works now. In the past, the court members used to stay united and discuss the welfare of people.
Now all they do is fight with each other! Father Oberon consumes all of his energy in resolving the issues between the houses. What happened to the people of my land? Why are they fighting among themselves now?
That is why I was hiding out in the castle gardens and hoped that no one would notice my absence—as they would be busy fighting with each other. It looks like they did notice my absence!

Laris, Vivan, and Edwin accompanied me on my way to the courtroom. At least having these guys around me will make me feel less uneasy. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
While we all were climbing the stairs, Laris and Vivian were arguing with each other about a dark-haired girl.
"Back off, brother, she belongs to me," said Laris.
Vivan climbed a step higher than Laris and blocked his way. " How could you even think that she would fall for a clown like you? Just look at me. I am tall, muscular, and a thousand times more handsome than you."
"Oh really," Laris chuckled and clutched the golden railing of the staircase. "Do you know that girls dig humorous guys more than handsome ones?"
Vivan laughed out and replied," I am sorry, Laris. Did you make a joke? Because that was funny—"
Edwin and I stood behind them and quietly watched their fight for a while. Soon their feud started to get nasty. Their quarreling noises began to echo all over the hallway.
"Guys," Edwin shouted and silenced them. "I forbid you both to even talk to that dark-haired girl. That is the punishment you two get for your immature behavior."
They both sighed out in disappointment. I have seen Laris and Vivan fight over a lot of stupid things before—never have I seen them fighting over a girl.
I was curious to see who this dark-haired girl was!
