Chapter 186: Am I a broken seed?!

"Members of the Court," Oberon shouted out while he was on his throne. "The first issue has been solved! If anyone else has to say something about it, or if anyone wants to object to my final judgment, then now is the time."

Just like I expected, no one objected to the decision of the Fae King. There was a deadly silence in the room for a couple of minutes.

And I was shocked by these people. The future crown princess is not present here, and no one seems to have an issue with it! Perhaps this should be made an issue. So I raised my one hand up and turned everyone’s attention to me.

The whole courtroom was shocked when I stood up from my seat and strode near Oberon’s throne.

’Theo, what the hell are you doing now?’ I heard Ivory whisper in my head. I ignored her words entirely and faced Oberon, who seemed to be highly annoyed that I am even raising an issue.

I know the real reason for his annoyance. He doesn’t want to hear me out as he thinks I am a Half-Mage. Only the issue of pure Highland Faes matters to him!

"What is your issue, young man?" Oberon asked me in a bitter tone.

"Your Majesty," I said those two words with much difficulty and bowed down to him. I cursed my luck—as I am obligated to bow to my mortal enemy.

Somehow I managed to control my temper and said, "I am sorry to interrupt you. But I don’t think that it is ethical to run a court without the presence of the Dawn."

Oberon then turned to his side as if rechecking if she was really not here. He is not even aware of this?! Then he turned to the Warriors Faes, who was standing behind his throne. "Bring the Dawn here!"

After my issue got resolved, I returned back to my seat; Ivory and Samuel were giving me a nasty glare. They did instruct me not to speak anything about Celestia to anyone—but I ended up speaking about her to Oberon directly.

Well, I never even planned to do something like this either. My urge to see my sweetness again made me do this!

Celestia’s POV:

I was out on the castle gardens in the morning sun, practicing targets with the arrows I found in the weaponry. I aimed to hit the arrow exactly at the center of the X mark—that was on the Chestnut tree in front of me.

But all the arrows that I fired didn’t even hit the trunk. Still, I kept on firing all the arrows that were in my quiver. Soon, I began to run out of arrows, and my hands started to get hurt by pulling the strings of the wooden-brown bow.

I was on my last arrow now. I attached the razor-sharp arrow to the string and pointed it to the X mark on the tree trunk. Perhaps this time I can do it!

"Celestia..... What are you doing here?" I heard Edwin shout out of the blue.

My concentration got diverted, and again I missed the target. "Damn it, Edwin! Why did you have to shout when I was about to hit the target?"

Edwin got hurt when I raised my voice at him. He took a step back from me and said, "I am sorry, Celestia. I never meant to disturb you. I just came here to tell you that the court session is going on, and people are expecting your presence there. Anyway, I will leave you now!"

After saying that, he turned his back to me and started walking away from me.

"Edwin, stop." I moved in front of him and blocked his way. "I didn’t mean to yell at you. I was just so stressed out that I have no skills as a warrior."

He frowned in surprise and said, "What do you mean by you have no skills as a warrior? You are the one who trained me, remember?"

"Yes, I did! But now I have forgotten everything. And I am unable to feel my powers or use my weapons. I am freaking out."

"Celestia! Calm down," he said and moved his hands closer to my shoulders. I was about to shout and warn him not to touch me—but instinctively, he just hovered his hand over my skin. "Please don’t stress too much, my friend. Nothing good comes from that ever."

Then he grabbed my bow from my hand and picked up an arrow that was on the ground. I wondered how an arrow fell here. Did I just fire an arrow backward from the target?! This is so humiliating.

Edwin adjusted the bowstring a little and inserted the arrow in it. He faced the target and twisted the string along with the bow—and released it in a snap. The arrow flew straight like a bird and landed in the center of the X mark.

I gaped at the shot he made. "How could you do this? I did the same thing as you did, but I still missed the target all the time."

"No, Celestia!" Edwin shook his head. "You didn’t do it like me—"

"What do you mean by I didn’t do it like you? I did it exactly like you numerous times. It is so unfair that I wasn’t even able to hit the tree trunk at least once."

He patiently heard my blabbing before he asked me a striking question. " Now tell me, Celestia! Was your mind calm?"

My lips got tightened by his single question. My mind wasn’t calm this whole time. Ever since I came to know that I have to become the princess—I lost my inner peace.

"You were anxious every time you picked up an arrow, weren’t you?"

I nodded and acknowledged my fault. He smiled at my response and continued with his explanation. "Celestia, you need to understand that a broken seed will not give out a healthy plant. If you need a healthy plant, then you should plant healthy seeds."

So is he actually saying to me that I am a broken seed?! Surprisingly I found myself agreeing with him.
