Chapter 185: Where is my sweetness?

Theo’s POV:

Even though I had mentally prepared for this moment a lot of times in my head, the reality was difficult to keep up. He killed my love!

And it sucks that I can’t confront him about that. I touched my sheath and felt the cold dead rock stone. I let the rock suck out my energy—just to keep my mind blank.

Everyone in the courtroom stood up from their seats as the lame king walked to his throne. I got up from my seat, too, for the sake of not blowing up my cover.

Oberon’s long golden cape had a symbol of the blazing sun in it, and it was sweeping the ground behind him as he walked.

His cape stopped brushing the ground as he stopped in his tracks when he reached my spot. Then he glanced to my side and frowned at me skeptically. I tried hard to keep my face calm while I was staring at his deep blue eyes.

Then his gaze turned to Ivory. Finally, he looked at Samuel, who was standing in between us.

"Lord Samuel, who is this beautiful young lady and man?"

"Your Majesty, they are my children," he answered.

The whole courtroom, including Oberon, gasped out at his reply. Oberon locked his gaze with me again and asked, "Why did you never mention to me before that you have such attractive children? And who is their mother?"

"Their mother is a pretty Mage girl—fortunately, my children take after her."

The eagerness in Oberon’s eyes vanished when he heard the word Mage. "You didn’t find a suitable mate among the Highland girls? Or was it so hard for you to find one?"

The whole room burst out in laughter at the lame joke that Oberon said. Samuel was embarrassed to his bones; Still, he managed to stand with his chin up in front of everyone.

After Oberon insulted Samuel, he walked to his throne with a smirk on his face. I still don’t get how he could feel good after he offends the weak. Perhaps it makes him feel stronger—but deep down, he knows that he is lame!

Oberon sat down on his sunstone throne and faced his subjects. Next to him stood the coward Prince Darius, who has not yet been crowned officially. I know the reason for that. Darius is not eligible for it!

Oberon doesn’t want to give him the crown and make him look stupid in front of his subjects. That is why he is using Celestia! He uses her as a shield to conceal all his shortcomings.

And where is my love? She is going to become the princess soon. Yet she is not present in the courtroom?

"My dear subjects," Oberon began to speak. "We all are gathered here today after a long time. Now I would like to hear about the latest issues from each of the Fae houses."

This is really a great way to begin the court! He purposely makes them speak out about their issues—just to instigate the spark.

The blue armored Wisdom Fae Lord was the first one to raise his hand. Oberon nodded and said," Lord Ethan, people go ahead."

Ethan stood up from his seat and moved closer to the King’s throne. He bowed down to Oberon before he started to speak.

"Your highness! The Healer Fae Lord Aeson, is refusing to treat the sick in our region. When I confronted him personally, he said that he would not treat the Wisdom Faes anymore. I request that you reprimand Lord Aeson for his immoral acts."

This seems like a serious issue to me! And I can’t believe that a Healer Fae would refuse to serve the people in need. It is against their morals to deny their service to other living entities.

"Lord Aeson," Oberon shouted out in agony. "Please tell me that what I just heard is not true!"

Then a green armored Fae got up from his seat and walked to the throne. I caught Ivory gaping at the Healer Fae. Is she admiring him?

It was a surprise to me as Ivory doesn’t usually get impressed with guys. But Fae Lord Aeson seemed to be a soft yet manly man, so she must have gotten enticed to him.

Aeson bowed down to Oberon and said, "Your highness, I am afraid that the allegations against me are true. But I had my reasons for that."

Oberon turned scarlet in anger as he heard his response. "How can you casually agree that you refused to heal the sick? Are you aware that what you did is treason?"

Lord Aeson clasped his hands together and said, "Your highness, I had to do that because the Wisdom Faes had recently stolen a hundred manuscripts from our library that are related to healing. Those manuscripts contain essential details about a Fae’s ability to recover a person’s life from the dead. If Lord Ethan gives me back what he stole, then I am willing to serve the Wisdom Faes again."

Until now, I thought that Lord Aeson was at fault. I never expected such a turn in this issue!

Oberon seemed to be confused by the new revelation. He then turned to the Wisdom Fae again and asked him, "Lord Ethan, why would you steal the manuscripts that belong to another house?"

"Your highness, the manuscripts were written by my father, and he was a Wisdom Fae. So I don’t think that I stole it, but I just took what actually belonged to the Wisdom Fae house."

After Oberon heard out the issues from both sides, he started to give out his judgment.

"The manuscripts might have been written a Wisdom Fae, but it doesn’t mean that the wisdom house can own it forever. Knowledge is meant to be shared with others! So I instruct Lord Ethan to return everything that he stole from the Healers." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Lord Aeson got brightened up by the judgment, while the Wisdom Fae Lord was disappointed.

"I am not done with my judgment yet," Oberon continued. "The healers are meant to treat the sick, even if the victim is his enemy. So I instruct Lord Aeson to apologize to the Wisdom Faes for refusing to treat them."

I am not going to lie; I was impressed by his judgment. He managed to give justice by not disappointing any one of the Fae Lords.

Eventually, I got impatient as Celestia still didn’t show up in the courtroom. Where is my sweetness?
