Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 124: My father doesn’t care...
Celestia’s POV:
Father Oberon prays to the Sun God every morning outside the castle area. After he is done with his morning prayer, he remains tranquil for hours.
Now is the ideal time to talk to him as he doesn’t easily get annoyed with others. I stood outside Father Oberon’s throne room and waited for his arrival. Usually, he prays no more than fifteen minutes. But today, he was taking a little longer to pray.
My friends were acting strange! They followed me down here, and they too waited with me outside the throne room.
I was not uncomfortable with the way they were all behaving. I understand that they are seeing me after a long time, but they don’t have to be this much clingy!
I don’t know about others, but Edwin and Ember are definitely acting here. Ember is not someone who would cry for such a silly reason. And Edwin would accept death instead of breaking the rules.
Maybe I should confront Edwin! He might slip out something when he is under pressure because he hates lying. He never lies unless someone makes him do.
I glanced at Edwin, who was staring at the large flower vase that was on the floor next to him.
"Edwin," I called out.
He immediately stood straight and turned his gaze to me."What is it, Celestia? Has the King arrived?"
"Not yet! But I need to ask you something. Would you give me an honest answer for that?" I asked him.
He broke eye contact with me and firmly gripped his bow with both of his hands. Is he nervous? His behavior proves that my friends are up to something. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Edwin cleared his throat and mumbled, "You know that I would never lie."
"You are loyal to the King, aren’t you?"
He answered my question by nodding his head.
"If you are loyal to the King, then why did you offer to help me in rescuing Theo? This is something which the King has to decide! Without his approval, you made a decision all by yourself?"
Edwin froze as he wasn’t able to give me an answer. "But..... But..." He paused and looked at the other warriors.
Embed stepped in and blabbed out, "Come on, Celestia! You know how Edwin is. He is not just devoted to the King. He is also loyal to his friends! That is why he decided on his own to help you without giving a second thought to it."
It became so apparent to me that Ember was lying. She didn’t give Edwin a chance to speak. Instead, she interrupted and began to babble.
But why are they doing all this? At that moment, my father came to the spot. Finally, he had finished his prayer.
He was surprised to see all of us. "Holy Aiden! What are you all doing here?"
I took a step closer to him and said, " Father, I need your help."
"What is it, my child? Tell me what you want?"
I was determined and optimistic a while ago. Now that my father was standing in front of me, I got fearful. What if he lashes out and refuses to help me?
Still, I have no other choice than this. I gathered all the courage that was left in me and began to speak out.
"Lilin defeated Silver Shadow, and she had locked him up somewhere in the Shadow Realm. Would you please help me in rescuing him?"
Only after I said that out loud, I realized how silly I was! My father is the last person in this whole realm who would try to save Theo. I waited for my father to yell at me, but he was surprisingly quiet.
"So you saw this in your vision?" He asked me in a normal voice.
"Yes. But I am not sure if Lilin is the one who has imprisoned Silver Shadow. He was about to reveal where he was. Unfortunately, Darius woke me up," I sighed out.
I did the right thing by talking to him after his morning prayer. That is why he is calm to me. Or else, by now, he would have been denouncing me for even mentioning Theo.
"I understand you, Celestia. I know how much Silver Shadow means to you, so I am willing to help you," he declared.
This is unbelievable! Why are strange things happening around me today?
"But it is so foolish to go to the Shadow realm without knowing the exact place where Silver Shadow is. So I suggest that we try to find out about his whereabouts first."
I can’t accept this. Theo was already suffering so much in my vision. If we delay anymore, then something terrible could happen to him.
"We don’t have that much time," I cried out. "Please, Father! We have to get in the Shadow Realm now. Or else-"
"Celestia," he roared out suddenly. I shuddered at the intensity of his tone. I thought he was calm! Why did he get frantic suddenly?
His eyebrows formed an arch as he frowned at me fiercely. "Stop like a child now! If I send my Fae army to the Shadow Realm, then it is like declaring war. Do you even know what a war is?"
I didn’t know the answer to that. I have battled with the Shadow creatures a lot in the past, but I have never actually seen a war before.
"I have been in a countless number of wars before. You have to know that war means bloodshed. And you are asking me to send my people to the enemy land to die?"
For a moment, I felt guilty for even asking such a thing to my father. Why should other people have to suffer? Slowly I realized that he was tricking me with his words.
If everyone in the Celestial Realm unites, then the Shadow creatures will be outnumbered. We are the one who is going to win the war. So we don’t have to worry about the bloodshed!
A knot formed on my throat as I understood that my father doesn’t care if Theo lives or perishes.
