Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself-Chapter 741 - 754: Don’t Come If You’re Anxious
The car traveled through a bustling area and finally stopped at an ancient-looking street.
"Let’s go, babe, get off the car." Mu Xingfeng opened the passenger door, waiting for An Ran to get down.
An Ran stuck her head out to look around. Where were the promised stars, the moon, the sunrise? And where was the thrilling car ride? Every time she met the handsome Instructor Mu, her IQ seemed to drop.
Mu Xingfeng noticed the disappointment in An Ran’s eyes, wrapped his arm around her slim waist, and said, "Let’s go. The matter of Wenshan Group’s share transfer needs to be concluded. The lawyer and Guo Wenshan are already waiting at the teahouse ahead. Tonight, your hubby is yours; do whatever you want."
With that, Mu Xingfeng embraced An Ran and walked towards the teahouse in high spirits.
"Captain Mu," came an abrupt male voice. A middle-aged man stood at the teahouse entrance, saluting Mu Xingfeng.
Mu Xingfeng returned the salute before the man continued, "Captain Mu, are you here for tea as well?"
"Yes, Captain Jia, you seem to have a refined interest too," Mu Xingfeng replied.
"I’m off today and thought I’d stroll around the city. Captain Mu, please go ahead; I won’t disturb you two." Jia Chenggang made a gesture of invitation, showing a barely noticeable hint of awkwardness on his honest face.
Mu Xingfeng nodded, leading An Ran into the teahouse and directly to a private room on the second floor.
Jia Chenggang watched the two enter the private room, discreetly wiping the sweat off his forehead. As he turned around, he saw Wang Xia approaching from a distance and gave her a simple, sincere smile.
"Wang Xia, was there traffic on the way? I offered to pick you up, but you wouldn’t let me. See, I’ve been waiting for you for twenty minutes."
"In a hurry? If you’re in such a hurry, don’t come. I didn’t ask you to wait," Wang Xia said unhappily.
Jia Chenggang froze. Having interacted with Wang Xia over the past two months, although she had always been lukewarm towards him, she had never spoken to him this sharply before.
"Why would I? Wang Xia, you misunderstood. I wouldn’t mind waiting another twenty minutes. I just thought you might be tired after working all day and then catching the bus here." Jia Chenggang quickly explained. "Let’s go; I’ve reserved a spot."
He tried to take her hand but Wang Xia avoided him.
"Chenggang, I want to go home. Let’s reschedule." With that, Wang Xia turned to leave.
"Wang Xia," Jia Chenggang grabbed her hand, "Didn’t you say you like drinking tea? Since you’re here, why hurry to leave? Is it because of what I said earlier? I didn’t mean it that way."
Jia Chenggang regretted internally. After taking care of this mother and son for two months, Wang Xia finally agreed to a date, only to have his words drive her away immediately. Blame his clumsy speech; his caring words ended up being misunderstood as complaints.
Wang Xia looked back, unable to free her hand. A hint of panic flashed in her eyes as she glanced into the teahouse and met Jia Chenggang’s anxious gaze. She sighed, "Chenggang, I’m not angry. It’s just that Rong’s teacher called and said Rong has a bit of a stomach ache, and I need to rush to the kindergarten to pick him up."
"Rong’s stomach ache?" Jia Chenggang’s words barely crossed his lips before he was pulling Wang Xia towards the parking lot. "If Rong had a stomach ache, you could’ve just called, no need to come all this way. The child is the priority."
Without much ado, Jia Chenggang got Wang Xia into the car, took the driver’s seat himself, and headed straight to Hairong’s school.
Wang Xia remained silent, her eyes dark as she looked through the rearview mirror in the direction of the teahouse.
